    June 21St! 250 Pounds?

I started at 233 and so far I have lost 55 pounds. My surgery was almost 3 months ago. Good luck! You will do great!!
  3. I took 4 weeks, but I have a pretty physical job.
  4. These are the only protein shakes I could drink after surgery. I have only tried the vanilla and really like them. I wish my local costco stocked strawberry, because I would like to try those.
  5. I take liquid Reviva, it is from Costco. I was taking the bariatric advantage chewables, but they started to make me sick. I really like the liquid ones I'm taking now.

    Back Pain

This sounds like what I am having.

    Back Pain

It might be completely unrelated. I've had it for almost a month though, and the doctor thinks any sort of muscle strain would have gone away by now.

    Back Pain

Thanks for the info. I went to the doctor again today and now she is sending me for X-rays and a CT scan. I hope your pain gets better, I know how bad it hurts!
  9. I mentioned to my doctor that I had taken phentermine in the past and he asked if I was still taking it. I told him I wasn't, and he said if I had been I would need to stop immediately. That was something he told me a few months before my surgery.

    Venting

Does your doctor make you do a liquid diet before surgery? I had to do a 2 week liquid diet before surgery and I lost 11 pounds in those 2 weeks. It was definitely hard, but you should be ale to loose 10 pounds in a couple weeks if you do it.

    Made To Onederland... Finally!

Congratulations!!! It's great to know you will hopefully never see 200 again!
  13. The only protein shakes I really drank were the premier shakes from costco. They usually come in vanilla and chocolate, my favorite were the vanilla ones. They might seem expensive, but you have to figure in how much money you are actually saving on food. I bought a blender, but really only used it a couple of times. The blender ball bottles were much more convenient when I actually used protein powder instead of the pre-packaged costco drinks. As far as your job goes it really depends on how physical it is. You will get a lot of different answers to this question. I have a very physical job and took off a month. I felt like I probably could have done my job at the 3 week mark, but my doctor actually wanted me off work for 6 weeks. We compromised at 4 weeks.

    Surgery Pre Admit

Wow 21 pound loss pre-op is awesome. Congratulations you are going to do great!!!
  15. I used to have fast food at least once a day, and I LOVED sweets. I was worried that. Wouldn't be able to give these things up, but I have found it to be fairly easy after surgery. I do still eat fast food on occasion. One of my favorite things to get is an in n out cheeseburger wrapped in lettuce. The calories are actually pretty low and I cut it in half and have it for 2 meals. My sweet fix I actually get from my Calcium bites, I have chocolate, caramel and lemon. They taste ok and seem to satisfy that small urge I have for something sweet. My favorite fast food item pre-surgery was McDonald's French fries. I stole one from my friend the other day and it tasted horrible. All I tasted and smelled was grease. Good luck! You can do this!

    Eggs

I don't think 8.8 pounds is a bad loss so far. I think that is right around what I had lost at that point. It also has to do with how much you need to loose. My weight loss wasn't too fast in the beginning but it has stayed consistent thought the process, and I'm happy with it now. I agree, eggs are great! I melt a little bit of cheese on mine and that is one of my favorite meals now. Good luck!!
  18. Good luck! I hope you find some good puréed food ideas. I got through that stage on refried beans and protein shakes. My liquid diet was 2 weeks pre-op, 2 weeks post-op so by the time I was allowed soft foods refried beans tasted amazing and were all I wanted to eat.
  19. I didn't really feel the restriction until I was on solid foods. I can drink liquids the same way I could pre surgery and never feel restriction from them. But then for a meal I will have 2 small strips of steak and be completely stuffed. I think you will really notice a difference once you move to solids.

    Congratulations!!!
  21. I'm on fitness pal too, what is your user name? My username is melinda011 if you want to add me
  22. I try to keep my calories under 600. I was sleeved march 12th. At my last Dr. visit he said that my calorie intake was perfect and keeping it low makes a stall less likely. My weight loss has definitely slowed down, but I think I'm right on track to get to goal by 6 months. Good luck figuring out what works for you!!
