    BEST tasting protein shake?

can you get products from the Oh Yeah line at GNC? I also came across a Protein supplement from protica.com called Profect. You can get it in 3oz vials in several flavors in 25gm or 50gm vials.. easy way to get in your required protein. According to my nutritionist i need 100gms daily.

    I flipping LOVE this band!

Oooooh Kelly, your response is music to my ears!!!!! I have type 2 diabetes and I am hungry all the time due to having to inject large amounts of insulin 3 times a day. I hope upon hope that the lap band will help me feel fuller fast and for long periods of time so I don't feel deprived and food-obsessed, which is why diets ALWAYS fail me. It's way beyond a lack of motivation or will power. I just don't want to have bypass or the sleeve, It's too invasive and PERMANENT. I hear people tell me at the support groups how they vomit all the time and can't tolerate a lot of foods anymore like they did pre-op. I have received my first denial for my lap band surgery and I'm appealing it now. Please keep us informed weekly on how the lap band is helping you with feeling full and how you are tolerating foods, getting all your Protein in and fluids, etc. Thanks. Susan Morris

Painfull dowside of lossing weight rapidly

yeah i was told at my bariatric surgery orientation that I may need to lose weight to shrink my liver before surgery and possibly have a cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) pre-op. Strange they didn't educate you about that pre-op.

    The journey begins....

Still waiting for an appeal for my lap band. I've been doing research and found those protein shots and Profect, a protein drink with 25 to 50 grams of protein in 3 oz vials in several flavors. i ordered a variety pack and I am trying them out now. So far they taste good with no aftertaste. Go to www.protica.com. Check it out. You'll be able to meet your protein requirements with these drinks. my requirement for my height is 99gms per day.

    Surrealness at Walmart

Wow, I can't imagine how awesome that feels. I wear the same 2 or 3 pairs of pants and sweats all the time because I hate clothes shopping at lane Bryant and Avenue. A few months ago I discovered I was needing a larger size. That was my breaking point. now I am in the appeals process with my insurance company to get my lap band. i pray i can feel the same rush of excitement when I can go down from a size 26 or snug 2x to a size large. Can;t wait.

    Newly Banded with some questions??

I haven't had my band yet (got my first denial letter today), but I have been doing some research. Profect protein drinks contain 25 to 50 grams of protein n 3oz vials and come in several flavors. i bought the variety pack of the 25gm drinks. According to the dietician, i need 99 gms of protein a day. These drinks are great. Check out www.protica.com. i keep reading and hearing about getting in lots of protein to help curb hunger and avoid starvation and deficiencies with the lap band and other bariatric surgeries. maybe this would be helpful.

    Scared !!!

I just received my first denial letter for my lap band yesterday and my insurance coordinator assures me that the insurance company has ALL the required medical info and evals and that this is typical of Blue Cross *** to deny on the first submission. i chose the lap band because I have type 2 diabetes due to my weight and I am on high levels of insulin and i inject 2 different insulins every day. The side effect is hunger. So, naturally, I'm hungry ALL THE TIME. That of course leads to high sugar spikes and MORE insulin, etc. I am really hoping the lap band will help curb my hunger and make it easier to make the eating and lifestyle changes required to be successful with the lap band. The gastric sleeve and the gastric bypass scare me but stats show almost complete resolution of diabetes, hypertension, and sleep apnea, but not so much with the band. Any thoughts or suggestions?
  8. I don't have a surgery date yet and I haven't appealed my denial letter I received today. Supposedly all the required info for the insurance company was submitted with the request for surgery, but the insurance company is stating they have no info and denied me. What's going on?
