  1. If the meeting doesn't go how you want, you look that doctor in the face and tell them you are firing them, and want another doctor that doesn't have an unhealthy bias and gets mad when another professional provides an answer that is contradictory to what they stated. Don't let them make you feel like you aren't the one in control. You don't work for them, they work for you. You are allowed a second opinion. Hell, call the other psy and let them know what's going on, ask if they would be open to being on the phone for that meeting so that they can put their inputs into the conversation.

    Appetite back with a vengance!

So, if there are doctors there, that specialize in food addiction, that means that Barbados has doctors that specialize in food addiction. You don't necessarily have to go to that "spa", but those doctors I'm sure also work outside of that location. It might take some legwork... but it seems like it would be beneficial for you. Good luck!

    Appetite back with a vengance!

Found this place, in Barbados, that does food addiction therapy. https://www.stronghopebarbados.com/about-us/

    Burrito bowl mistake

I was just going to say it was more likely the lettuce. Lettuce is not a Soft Solid, it's a "Raw" and Raws are the last stage to be cleared for.
  5. 64 oz is the bare minimum. You want to be shooting for around 80 - 100 grams of protein a day, and upwards (over if you can) 128 oz of water a day. You should also be exercising at least an hour a day in addition to whatever you do for work.
  6. Kevin, 300 calories a day, 10 weeks out... is pretty low. If you say too low for too long, you can actually cause your body to go into a starvation / survival mode and cause gains. Try upping your calorie count a bit. 300 is entirely too low for that far out of surgery.

    Eating slowly

Putting things down is a huge help. There are lots of apps and timers, etc. It can be a hard habit to get into, given we've spent decades eating faster. So it's hard at first, but if you pay attention, eventually it becomes second nature, just have to work to erase the old habit and start the new one. But the biggest advice I can give you, is try your hardest at slowing down, just keep trying, and you'll get there!
  8. Understood. I was told to wait until the 6 month mark to reintroduce alcohols. But, things are different with the bypass (and like every surgeon on the planet!) BUT I did have 2 drinks at this point, maybe a total of 4 -6 oz between the 2 of them. Got drunk quick, but got sober quick too... didn't seem "worth it" really anymore.
  9. Doubtful, the human body will fluxuate around 10 lbs per day, so unless you've gained A LOT... I really don't see them canceling or delaying. They usually don't weigh folks in when they schedule... mine was scheduled over the phone, I personally wouldn't worry about it.
  10. @EsoKev it gets easier as time goes by. You'll be back to some semblance of normal within 2 months of surgery.

    Pain

Yes. Yesterday was really bad though because I started dry heaving and couldn’t hardly stand up Try the pillow / towel trick (I believe I posted that in another one of your threads about this) and see if that helps! But using the spirometer and walking are pretty critical to helping you get all this gas out. Another trick I figured out back when I had my band is to increase your abdominal pressure to help force gas out. So, you take as deep a breath in as you can, and hold it, pressing into it slightly (almost like doing a crunch, just sort of bare down a bit) the idea is to increase pressure inside your abdominal cavity (without causing any damage to the muscles so don't go to hard) and that increased pressure will help force the gases into the blood stream / out of your abdominal cavity. Good luck!
  12. Well, you have a sleeve, so no intestinal changes, curious what you thought was going to happen?
  13. Define "normal". If you are expecting anything like what you used to eat, then no, you shouldn't ever be able to eat the way you used it, otherwise, why bother with the surgery? That said, I fully understand being done with protein shakes and liquids only. Things do get better, you just have to wait it out. Best not to rush things and work within your instructions. It does get better. Stay Strong!

    Benefits...

God no joke! Except now, with all my weight loss, I'm gaining length when I lay down, losing it when I stand up. Leaned over to pick something up while I was on the can the other day and... bloop, hit the water, I was shocked, grossed out and impressed all at the same time.

    2 weeks post-op

I personally don't care... but I know some do. And I know I go out of my way to make sure I don't comment on the ladies room stuff, even though I'd sure love to do so to help folks out. But, "no guys in the girls room, no girls in the guys room" that's the "rule".
  17. Odds are this was due to the revision and not actual reflux. How are you doing now?

    Pre-Op Concerns

I had the RNY, poop smell depends on what I've eaten, some days it's normal, other's... it's down right foul. I keep a bottle of Poop-purri in my desk for work poops. I'm using PatchMD patchs, my Vitamin D is low, but it was low before surgery (the joys of living in the north) so I take extra Vitamin D supplements, but all other blood levels were within normal ranges. For me, I was revised from the Band to RNY, I didn't have the choice for the mini. But between the 2, if the mini has more complications than the RNY... I would have chosen the RNY if I had the options.

    Thanks for the follow up!
  20. Here is a list of all topics with "Fed BC/BS" listed, you should be able to find answers or folks to talk to about this question. I'm sure there aren't a lot of folks here that can answer this for you. I'm on GEHA and didn't have too much issues, When I had my band I had BC/BS and they were super easy to deal with, so it's really just going to depend on your plan, etc. https://www.bariatricpal.com/search/?&q=Fed BC/BS

    Hydration and exercise after bypass

This is a non-issue. There is no reason you can't keep hydrated. I'm pretty active between work, the gym, working on cars, etc etc etc. I'm still getting over 128 oz water day. You are over thinking things and getting worried about something that isn't a problem.

    vitamins

I've been using PatchMD patches for almost 5 months now. And before anyone says they don't work, my 3 month post op labs were all good (except for my Vitamin D, but living in New England, we need extra Vitamin D support anyway) So, the patches are working exactly as advertised for me. I do take some biotin quick dissolves, a once a week Vitamin D2 pill and a daily vitamin D3 tablet. As well as some chewable fiber supplements. But that's it, all other vitamin needs are supplied by the patches.
  23. Biggest stopping point for my emotional eating. Being fat and gross looking/feeling was making me more emotional... so the emotional eating was making thing worse. That revelation paved the way for major
  24. You can call your insurance and speak with them about if they would cover it or not, sure it'll need to be reviewed, but they can tell you up front if it's even possible. This will give you all the information you need to decide, but I agree, any doctor/surgeon requesting up front payment... very sketchy.

    Bypass question

I didn't have any issues with any heaving or what not, but if you use a pillow or cloth and press into the area that's hurting when you heave or cough, it'll help with the tearing sensation.
