The changes can be quite impressive. The issue I'm having now is, now that my Panniculus is dropping as well, all the gains I've got back, are being re-consumed by the sagging skin. It's super unfair LOL, I legit am losing almost 3 inches of view when flaccid... but if I pull my Panniculus up, everything looks great again LOL... Can't wait to get that bastard flap of skin removed!

Oh boy does it get better!!! Every day I'm amazed at how this process is changing me. I see myself in mirrors and other reflections and I just can't believe how awesome I'm looking. The struggle is most certainly worth it!

New study, that fat is the cause of adiposity
Matt Z replied to Sosewsue61's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think this study is missing a key factor, what our "genetic" diet is supposed to be, IE what our bodies actually are designed to process. Our baseline diet is so drastically different from that of Mice that this study is laughable. I get that for medical processes, how certain drugs / etc work or are processed... sure using mice for that is fine, but a mice's baseline requirements to live are much different than humans or other primates. But since we can no longer study on primates, we are stuck with mice... but I raise a huge red flag on this whole article. -
Congrats!

sounds like a combination of the Foamies and Dumping. What was in/on the chicken? -
I can't speak to the back end processing from likes etc, but likes DO effect the users community rating. The more likes, the higher the rating.

Just take your time and rest if you need to, I didn't have many issues with stairs overall, just have to make sure you don't over exert yourself is all. Go easy and you'll be fine.

Might want to be a little more specific with "Springfield"... seems there are 33 Towns/Cities in 25 states named "Springfield" LOL. -
I'm on Marinol for sleep issues, have been for awhile. No issues or problems with it post bypass. You doc might try to dissuade you, but medically there isn't any legitimate reason why someone should stop. The biggest concern is over consumption from any potential side effects from the medication and sugar content for edibles. But those concerns are easily overcome with proper planning and consideration.

https://obesitynewstoday.com/bariatric-surgery-reversibility/ "In addition to reducing the size of the stomach, the gastric bypass also rearranges the digestive system, which is why it is usually not reversible." https://www.realself.com/question/gastric-bypass-reversible "Gastric Bypass surgery is considered a permanent operation but can be reversed for medical problems only. The risks of a reversal are extremely high." So, "potentially" reversible, but reversing is almost never done due to complications. The band can be removed, the sleeve, your pouch can and will stretch out, but the bypass, the restriction plus the rerouting of your intestines, this surgery should not be considered "reversible" as a justification for getting it. -
Can someone please enlighten me.
Matt Z replied to damonlg's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Not sure where you saw that the bypass was reversible... but as per https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/bariatric-surgery/about/pac-20394258 Roux-en-Y (roo-en-y). This is a type of gastric bypass surgery, and is the most common method of gastric bypass. This surgery is typically not reversible. -
Can someone please enlighten me.
Matt Z replied to damonlg's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Revisions from restriction only to restriction and malabsorption are common. I'm a Band to Bypass revision myself. Reasons will cover a wide range of situations. Maybe someone ended up with GERD after the sleeve, or they lost some weight but plateaued out and couldn't lose more (like with a lot of folks with the band did), maybe the sleeve didn't "work" (IE the person didn't change their habits enough or figured out how to eat around the sleeve), maybe they had complications that required the revision. There are quite a few reasons. But all of them fall into one big category "something didn't work right the first time"
