Do you have any buildup or coating inside your mouth as well? Asking because it could be thrush. Or it could be due to all the meds and the surgery. My tastes changed for a little while. But went back to normal a little while down the road.

We like to donate our used clothing.

Check out Intermittent Fasting. Or you could totally start over, pretend you haven't had the surgery and start with a "pre-op" diet, follow it exactly as you did the first time around, then fast the of "surgery" then start back on the "post-op" diet and continue on from there.

Bypass beats out sleeve for all metrics. More weight loss, More weight kept off, Lower rebound rates. The differences are a few percent, 5-10, depending on which one you are looking at. There is lots of information ranging from full on clinical medical studies to those less technical. Just have to look for them.

This happens as your metabolism adjusts. It does end up leveling out. I'm facing issues with being cold due to lack of insulation! 93 lbs really provides a lot of extra warmth LOL

If you can, spend the money on the upgrades. It'll make it that much more comfortable. The drive or fly is going to be up to you... I'd personally opt for the closer airport. Switching flights is easy, you'll get information as to what flight you are transferring to and the boards will show you what gate you have to go to next. You can carry on your CPAP, it's medical equipment and is allowed (I've flown to Nicaragua a few times with mine, zero issues) As far as how many bags to plan for... That's going to depend on you, how long you are going for, etc etc etc. Something I don't see, do you have your passport? Pretty sure you need a passport to fly to Mexico now. If you do have a passport and time, I'd suggest looking into the pre-screening for re-entry, this will make your wait coming back into the country much MUCH less of an issue. Standing in line for a few hours would suck fresh out of surgery.

Headaches after workout
Matt Z replied to Pink nova's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Headache is a classic dehydration symptom. Are you consuming electrolytes with your water during your workouts? If not, it's a very good idea to do so. -
The biggest thing to understand is... by the time you start losing hair, it's already too late to stop it. You are losing it, because new hair is growing up from those follicles that went dormant due to the stress of the surgery. Anything you do or take after surgery is going to help the new hair, not the old hair. If you took things well before surgery, that *CAN* help, but it's not a guarantee. Some folks get lucky and don't lose any hair... others can do everything under the sun and still deal with hair loss. And it's not really "hair loss" as you aren't losing hair exactly. We shed a certain percentage every day, what surgery can do is cause a much larger percentage of hair to go dormant than would normally, so when the regrowth cycle starts, the shedding that normally occurs is going to occur on a much larger scale.

Congrats ASH!!!! Doing amazingly!

Track everything including the times you ate and when the dumping happens, it's not always carbs that cause dumping, since there are 2 versions of dumping, within 30 mins is typically carbs/sugars, the 2-3 hours after ingestion is typically from fats/oils. Without a full breakdown, it's all just guessing.

Still around, still trying to provide help and support where I can.

Talk to your surgeon and have them check for a stricture... it's possible you need some medical attention.

Congrats and Good Luck!

Weird feeling when I swallow...
Matt Z replied to pleasedontjudgeme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3788014/ Stricture Formation of stricture is another potential complication occurring after LSG. It could present either acutely after surgery due to tissue edema or more commonly in a delayed fashion. Presenting symptoms include food intolerance, dysphagia or nausea and vomiting. Although kinking of the stomach following LSG has been reported,23 the most common site of stenosis is at the incisura angularis.24 An upper gastrointestinal study or endoscopy is usually diagnostic. -
BariatricFusion is what we were told to use pre-op at my center. I also use Gold Standard proteins, and Isopure proteins. The big thing to look for is the word "Isolate". ESP if you have lactose tolerance issues.
-
Optifast uses dry milk concentrate for the protein not an isolate, Concentrates have much higher levels of lactose. Protein Isolates have little to none. It's possible you are having lactose issues with the high concentration. Try a different brand of protein / meal replacement that doesn't contain a protein concentrate, but rather has protein isolates as the protein source and see if that helps you any. Or you can keep taking the Optifast and try to see if taking some Lactaid helps relieve the symptoms.

More than likely this is due to healing and the reduced caloric intake. It should get better with time.

They are called Co-Morbidities, pretty much *EVERY* insurance has them listed to allow for a lower BMI approval for WLS. Most require a BMI of 40+ for WLS or BMI of 35+ for WLS w/Co-Morbidities.
-
As much as it sucks having to buy new clothes... it really is an amazing feeling isn't it!
-
Have you tried going back to liquids/purees? Did you have issues then? Have you spoken with your Surgeon? You could have a stricture that needs to be dealt with.
-
The Psy eval is pretty critical, post surgery is a very crazy maelstrom of emotions and changes, being ready for it is pretty important. I don't think any of the pre-op testing was unnecessary. My pre-op processing including the required classes covered pretty much everything I needed to know. I do see however that some folks don't get as much attention pre-op, and I feel that more classes and information would be better for those groups.

I'm going to second that it's more than likely yeast, check out some of the jock itch creams / antifungals, and please make sure you see your PCP and have them document that, it can help you in the future to support a request for excess skin removal, lots of insurances require documented rash/skin issues before they approve skin removal. @Biddy zz your signature block has an error. The procedure where one WLS is changed to another is called "Revision" not "Decision" So your signature should say "revision to RNY 2017" Also, RNY means Bypass, so saying "Bypass Bypass" is redundant. Just a friendly heads up.

Might want to reach out to your insurance to find out who they have in your area that they will cover that is also a WLS nutritionist.
