Is the site warm to the touch? If so... get in to your doctor ASAP!

    Gastric bypass

I had dumping once. I've had a lot of uncomfortable moments because I ate a food I knew I shouldn't... but just the 1 instance of real dumping syndrome. To be honest... I wish it happened, the whole idea of having a negative feedback for the foods I shouldn't be eating was a good thing. Now, there is nothing stopping me from eating them except my own will power.

    I quit smoking!

Be careful with the carbonation... it's a big no no typically. Congrats!

    No sit ups 1 year

You can thank Tom Green for that one LOL

    No sit ups 1 year

This is absurd... I was cleared for *ALL* exercises before the 2 month mark... sit ups included. I've also done plenty of weighted crunches, suspended leg lifts etc etc etc. Did you have full open surgery or laparoscopic?

    Can it be done?

There are places that will do all of them at once, most will advise that they will plan on doing them all, but how you do in surgery would dictate if they actually do all 3 at once. You see a *LOT* of "all in 1" surgeries with those getting plastics in Mexico.
  7. Sounds like a hernia, is it anywhere near any of your incisions? Even if it's not... get in to see a doctor before things get worse!

    Weight gain

WLS is a tool. It's 100% up to you to work with it. If you don't have any motivation, you need to look somewhere else, it's not the WLS causing that. If your eating is out of control... reign that crap in, only you can do that. You've got 2 options. Do what you need to... or don't. It's your call. No one here is going to do it for you. Your WLS won't do it for you. You have to look yourself in the mirror and decide that you are no longer going to allow yourself to keep ignoring what needs to be done. Start over. Restart your Pre-op diet and follow it to the letter, pretend in you didn't have the surgery and are going to get it... start your pre-op, then fast the day of "surgery", then start working through your post-op diet. This will get you back into the swing of things and will "reset" your pouch/sleeve a bit. You have to be the one to make this work. So, make the decision to do it.

How do you know when your full?

For me, I just get this "no longer interested" feeling... way more mental than physical. If you are chewing well and you are still vomiting on soft foods, please go talk to your surgeon, it's possible you have a stricture or other obstruction that might need to be attended to.

    Sweet tooth

Find alternatives that fit your diet and aren't super horrible for you. Like fruits for instance. I'm all about the "swaps" what item can you substituent for that craving that will satisfy the craving yet fall into your diet. This way you don't feel like you are missing out on anything because those cravings are all taken care of.

    Time off

I took 2 months with my Band... and with my Revision to Bypass. Post op was easy for each surgery, but my reasoning wasn't just for the potential movement or energy issues, it was more for taking the time to relearn what I can and can't eat. And I'm super glad I did, I had issues with some foods early on that, if I wasn't home... would have been very uncomfortable to deal with at work/in public.

    11 months post op

    Looking Good Camellia Sinensis!
  13. There will still be people that defend it..l just like GenePro after that lawsuit.
  14. The before eating I find to be bunk, the idea is that water pooled in your pouch/sleeve might help slide food through, the after is purely to avoid sliding the food through, both also are to help prevent food expansion from absorbing the water. I don't follow the before hand waiting, but I do the post eating if at all possible.

    Smoking

I smoke when I want to... like this past weekend I went camping and had 3 or 4 of them over the course of 2 days.. Zero issues.
  16. I've been getting the following error when I attempt to reply to topics. It's intermittent but often enough that it's becoming a bit of a hassle. [[Template forums/front/topics/topic is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.]]
  17. My opinion on the matter, I took control of the narrative, anyone that asks me about my weight loss, I tell them the whole ordeal, this way, no one gets to make stuff up, everyone gets the same information. Skin issues are going to be very personal. Factors like age, how long you've been overweight, how heavy you've gotten etc etc etc. I hit 370 at one point, I'm down to 215 today, I've got some sagging skin, but it's not a major deal and hides under my clothing with ease. Positives, are many, so so many things are way easier now than when I was heavy. Not sure what surgery you are looking at getting, I was banded in 2011, lost a bit, then didn't... converted from Band to Bypass this past March and I'm down 94+ lbs since March 2nd... Could.Not.Be.Happier.

    Finding foods is hard

At 2 months post op you should have been cleared for ALL foods. If you are constipated... more than likely you are not drinking enough water or taking in enough fiber. 600 calories a day is VERY low for this far out from surgery. Please follow up with your surgical team and nutritionist for further guidance and instruction.
  19. Everyone is going to have a different experience. But looking at the "averages", it seems a decent number of people develop GERD from the sleeve. And quite a few people don't get any dumping at all. I've had exactly 1 incident of dumping, in over 6 months. And that was with tomato soup. I can eat pretty much anything I want at this point with zero dumping. I do get crampy here and there if I eat something I know I shouldn't, but I don't have any issues with any sweeteners. I went with the band back in 2011... and was revised to RNY this past March. Honestly the best thing I've done. I have a friend that was sleeved and he also had to get revised to the bypass due to complication with the sleeve. Also, the sleeve is 100% non-reversible. The Bypass is reversible under certain conditions, it's a risky reversal, but it does happen, you cannot undo the sleeve since 90% of your stomach ends up in the trash. Also, long term research keeps showing that the bypass out performs the sleeve in all metrics. Patients lose more, keep it off longer, have lower rebounding weight gain. It is 100% your decision, but my 2 cents, go with the bypass.
  20. You will need to start over, potentially changing doctors too. I have GEHA, which works with AETNA and they certainly have bariatric services, your husbands plan might not have coverage, but AETNA does cover WLS. Each insurance has different requirements, if you start on one insurance and move to another, more than likely the new insurance is going to have you start over and follow their requirements.
  21. Congrats and good luck moving forward!

    Frustrated with stall

It's important to track EVERYTHING if you are having questions about your progress, the only way to identify problem areas, is to have the data to locate those problem areas. Peanuts are very high in fat and calories. Tracking fat loss can be accomplished with any number of fat measuring devices, from the old school pinch calipers to an impedance measuring device.

    Bari-friendly Tupperware for Work?

would something like these work? https://www.amazon.com/BASA-Meal-Prep-Containers-Pack/dp/B07D49SZGQ/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1538676455&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=bariatric+food+containers&psc=1 or maybe this? https://www.amazon.com/BariWare-Portion8-Starter-Brilliant-Blue/dp/B01ECK2B3M/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1538676455&sr=8-6&keywords=bariatric+food+containers I think if you are searching using the word "Tupperware" you might get limited results given tupperware is a brand name, search instead for "Bariatric food containers" or Bariatric food prep"

    What can I eat?

The band is so totally different for food restrictions it's pretty crazy. You don't have to worry about content really as there is no dumping or any other food related reactions other than quantity and "texture". From what I recall, I was on liquids for all of a day. Then it was purees for like... A day. Then soft solids, then normal foods. Chew until puree before swallowing and the same no drinking while eating. It was a long time ago for me... but I do recall it was so totally different than when I was revised to the bypass. Same surgeon did both, same team. So many differences!
