Congrats on this amount of water... that's great!

    Acne!!

Have you talked with your surgeon/team/nutritionist about this yet? The hormone changes are going to be interesting, fat stores estrogen, so you may get flooded with estrogen when your body starts removing fat. From what I'm seeing, a *decrease* in estrogen causes acne, not an increase. "Some hormones – particularly the male sex hormones like testosterone – cause more oil production. Some hormones – like estrogen – cause less. " http://paleoforwomen.com/cystic-acne-and-hormones-everything-you-need-to-know/ Curious what the doctors will or have said about this.

    Non-dairy Protein Powder

Whey Isolate is made from milk, but it's a highly refined form and has most if not all lactose removed from it. Whey concentrates are bad for those looking to avoid lactose. When purchasing proteins, if you have lactose sensitivity, avoid "concentrates" and stick with Isolates or even Casein (still made from milk but does not react the same way lactose does, if you are allergic to lactose you will more than likely not be allergic to casein, and vice versa).

    Acne!!

Less "hormones" more "lack of vitamins / nutrients / etc. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4371663/ Are you stressing out more now? Increased water (I know I know I push water CONSTANTLY, but it does help!) can help with skin issues as well.
  5. I've got clothing that I purchased that took over a month to be received... and it was too big by the time I got it!

Day 1 post Op Band to Bypass

For the most part it's because revisions are already used to and dealing with some level of restriction. So it's less of a change for us than it is for folks that go from Nothing to Full sleeve / bypass.
  7. With how variable these pre and post op diets are, it seems that it's pretty much based on the discretion of the surgeon, nutritionist or hospital. That said, it doesn't mean things are set in stone, if you have questions or concerns, be sure to voice them, and keep voicing them or asking your questions until you get the answer that resolves that concern. Do not be afraid to not know something or to think something is wrong... it could be wrong. Doctors are people too, and they do make mistakes. Things do get mixed up, and add in the translation portion of this process and that's another potential issue maker. Ask 100 WLS patients what their post op requirements were, and I'd be willing to bet you get close to, if not, 100 different replies.

    Supplements beforehand?

Work on getting into the habit of getting in plenty of water and protein now (maybe start some biotin as well to *hopefully* prevent the "hair loss" aka telogen effluvium, look that up, it's a big question post op and it's important to understand it fully) Work on getting upwards of 128oz of water if possible. it really helps.

Try changing up the temp and flavor. It's going to suck for a little while, you are healing up from invasive surgery that altered your anatomy, don't let the severity of the surgery you just endured take a back seat! It will get better, just give your body time to heal up, do your best and listen to your body first and foremost! And don't be afraid to reach out to your surgical team with questions or issues, that's what they are there for!

    Supplements beforehand?

I started beforehand, but talk to your surgeon/surgical team/nutritionist, because some supplements and vitamins need to be stopped a few weeks before your surgery to prevent any complications.
  11. Agreed, sounds like the chicken. Might not be a problem forever though, just now given your surgery was less than a month ago.
  12. What surgery? When was your surgery? What was your starting/pre-op weight? What's your height? Are you tracking your water intake and is that intake upwards of 128oz? Is it over 64oz? Are you tracking your food intake? Are you exercising? *DO NOT* compare yourself to others, there isn't anyone else in the world that will gain or lose the exact same way as you do. So, don't stress over things you can't control, focus on what you CAN control and measure!
  13. For me GEHA required 6 months of "supervised" diet and exercise. This really just boiled down to meeting with the nutritionist once a month for 6 months. There were requirements that the doctors office required that insurance did not, I was able to successfully "negotiate" some of these so that I didn't have to do them, but some were "hard requirements" for the practice.

    Time between drinking and sleeping

It's tough because most people's first instinct is to compare themselves to others, but with these surgeries, it's impossible to compare as each surgery and the patient are totally unique. Just follow your guidelines as provided by your doctors and nutritionists and do NOT be afraid to call them for ANY question you have, that's what they are there for, it's part of what you paid for, so don't be shy in using what you already paid for!

    So Dramatic...

The hardest emotionally would be when I had to prep instructions and documents so my wife could pay the bills and access what she would need to if I were to die, I also wrote out some goodbyes, just in case. Funniest was the first poop after surgery... that smell... ugh, it will haunt me forever. Post op - almost in tears happy moment, when I went to Kohl's with the wife, bought clothes off the rack without bothering to try them on, knowing they would fit without issue. And the most recent, uncontrollable smile inducing moment, yesterday when I went back to the gym, I hit the treadmill and was able to run at 5 mph for 5 full minutes non-stop without turning into a sweating, huffing and puffing mess. I would have been able to run longer if I had properly stretched, I didn't expect to be able to run that long without issue... so I didn't bother stretching. But damn if I couldn't stop that ear to ear grin on my face as I was trucking along. Same run, I hit 7 mph with zero issues either... so damn cool!

Just take it slow and focus on healing. If it hurts, stop doing it for a while. You'll know more about what you can and can't do closer to the 2 month mark. (on average)

    side effects

Are you supplementing with calcium? When's the last time you had your blood levels checked? Have you told your doctor about these issues?
  18. This is a tough question to answer, because we don't know what you dipped into that ketchup. Was it a fry? If so... it was more than likely the grease than the ketchup. Ketchup can have a decent amount of sugar in it, but if it really was just a "dip" then the odds of that being the cause are small (not impossible, just, reduced). When did the "dumping" happen? Around / within 30 mins after to ingestion is typically sugar, upwards of 3 hours later, is typically fat. These can vary greatly however, just basic "guidelines". What did you eat in addition to the ketchup?

    T- 14 days

Sounds like you are totally normal! There usually isn't ever a "good" time, but finding the "best" is a good idea. I really wish I had the bypass done back in 2011 when I had the lap band installed. The changes were tough, but well worth it!
  20. Congrats! That's a stressor lifted for sure. I didn't like the pre-op either time I had to do it... but I did appreciate the prep it provided for post-op.

    Time between drinking and sleeping

This might be more a condition of healing rather than drinking before bed exactly, I know I'm a Bypass patient, but I drink right before bed, and I keep water by my bed at all times and drink regularly while in bed. If it's causing issues, then stop, but I think it's more to do with how recent your surgery was moreso than what you did. My opinion on it anyway.

    Reputation scores are misleading

It's clearly just something to look out for when folks are being dicks, not a "everyone with less reputation than posts" situation... I was not calling *ANYONE* out for anything...
  23. Matt - I live in RI too. Where is this place?? Oh wait - maybe I don’t want to know! Lol Proud Mary's is in Riverside 326 Bullocks Point Ave, Riverside, RI 02915 *SORRY*
  24. Matt Z

    Reputation scores are misleading

@CrankyMagpie reputation used to decrease, but then the options that would do that were removed for whatever reason. I don't pay attention to the scores, but if you look, if someone's got more posts than reputation, kinda sheds a light on their posts... if they post more than people liking the posts that they are posting... then it's clear that their posts aren't being liked for whatever reason. Sorry someone did that to you... that's pretty uncalled for.
  25. If it says clears, there *ARE* clear protein options. Sounds odd or a "lost in translation" situation maybe. But (in my not a doctor opinion)yes, she'll want to make sure she's ingesting protein
