    Today it REALLY hit me

i felt the same as you, there is no way that it will work for me because i cant ever be thin again. every diet under the sun hasnt worked why would this one. well i was wrong. i have no problem only eating small protions because my sleeve wont let me eat more. i have tried to eat just a little more because my head wants it..not my sleeve. my sleeve wins everytime. it will even punish me if i dont listen by sending me running to the bathroom. i am so happy that i have this tool to help me....and i am already half way there. my surgery date was aug 15, 2011. good luck to you for your surgery tomarrow!

    I'm gonna turn into WHAT???

haha! if anything the surgery has helped my thereapy. i have been in for years and felt like i was getting nowhere. since this surgery i feel so happy and i wouldnt change it for anything. as for hanging out with people.....i have been going places and doing stuff with friends now more than ever. for goodness sake i went to a male strip show last sunday.....something that i would have never felt comfortable going to before i had lost this weight. they are just worried that they willl not be your top priority anymore.

    smoking

i quit 2 days before surgery. they didnt test me i guess? anyhow i know that it hurt my breathing after surgery. i felt like i couldnt get a good breath in. they had to give me inhailers and breathing treatments. definatly a good idea to quit!

  10. I went to HUNKS the show last night with a girlfriend...HELLO! We had so much fun. I got to go on stage and get a lap dance by two of the hottest guys I have ever seen. For the first time in a long long time I didnt hold back because of my weight. If I felt like dancing I danced! If I felt like wiggling my tatas in a strippers face I wiggled :P HEHE!!!

    Eating Out - Embarrasing???

i went with my hubby to an all you can eat buffet and couldnt bare to pay the ful price for a buffet when i know darn well im not eating enough. so i went to the front and asked for the take out buffet. i filled my box with what i thought i could eat and took it to be weighed. they started to object to my staying there to eat it with my hubby. i then explained the small stomach and then they were okay with it. my lunch cost $2.15! lol and i still ended up taking some home and it was my dinner. people are definately right on here about saving money on the food bill. i had my surgery 6 weeks ago now and my food bills for a family of 5 were anywhere between 500-1000 a month. since the surgery i have been shopping only 2 times and have only spent 400 total. i didnt realize how much of the food i used to eat. i used to always blame my high food bill on my hubby and kids eating to much. i guess i was wrong and it was a whole lot more of me eating than anything else.

    Facial Hair Problems...

i went for a consult for my chin and lip. unfortunatly i was not a candidate because my hair pigment was to light. she told me that because the whiskers i have are blonde that the laser couldnt see them. just shaving and plucking for me. i dont have pcos...or at least i havent been diagnosed with it. i havent noticed any difference with my facial hair, or any other hair that i dont like growing. i have noticed that the hair on my head has started to fall out a bit....not to much more than usual though. thankfully i am blessed with...as my hair dresser puts it "three head fulls of hair." so i wont miss any that falls out on my head...just a pain in the ass when it is all over your clothes.
  16. i just picked a number that i would be happy with. when i was younger i was 120 pounds and i was super thin. im 5'8" and sometimes i measure taller then that. (not sure why) anyhow, 150 pounds seems just about when i looked the best when i was younger. i looked healthy and fit. i just want to look like that again.
  17. my new thing is shopping and exercising.
  18. well i have been kicking ass these past five days! i found a new mountain trail that i have been jogging/walking and i love it. i went to the pinnicles with my kids yesterday...a 4 hour hike through caves and up mountains. it was great. today i went to the lake and went swimming. i havent been this active since i was 20! having a great time feeling young again! love this sleeve!!!

  19. so glad that you got your approval and date scheduled! that is so great. thank you for keeping me posted!

Frustrated that the Sleeve is "just another diet"

hey yellow rose. im not sure if anybody suggested this to you yet or not because i didnt read other posts but here goes. try taking a break from counting everything. make sure that you drink all of your fluids...eat the protein first and then after that dont count anything. when you are constantly thinking you are on a diet it can get really old really fast. i just make sure to eat the protein first and drink all of my liquids and then after that i dont worry about anything else. i dont even worry about weighing myself until the end of the week anymore because you can gain and lose 5 pounds daily with water weight. i weigh myself at the same time every week and then forget about the rest of the stuff. you dont need all of the stress of it. your numbers will go down no matter what, just stop worrying about it. hope this helps
  21. Ok, so I had my first 2 nsv's on the same day! First....I had a doctors apt today and I thought I would try on that pair of pants that I bought a few months ago that I hoped to fit one day. When I grabbed them I thought to myself that there was no way that I would be able to zip them up because the last time I tried I couldnt even get them over my fat thighs. So I pulled them up...all the way. I went to pull them together thinking that no way could I zip them up....and yep you guessed it! Not only could I zip them up, but they easily fit on...and looked good!! woo-hoo! The next was when I went on a hike today with my walking partner. This trail is tuff!!!! It goes straight up hills and is a real workout. The last time I walked it I was huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf. Well, not only did I walk up those nasty hills with ease, but when we got to the straight paths.....I felt like running! Yep I did....me! I ran on the straight aways! It felt great! I havent ran for fun since I was a child, and here I was running, because I wanted to and I had a great big smile on my face. For the first time in forever I felt like a healthy active person. I cant wait to do it again! NSV's for me! I am so loving my sleeve

    my first nsv!

you go girl! we need to make sure to try them on like every week because when we are in the journey we cant always see the loss. i know several people that have missed the opportunity to wear something because they just got to small for them. i make sure to try on smaller sizes all the time just in case
  23. Sassygirl06

thank you very much! it does feel great. not only did i go back since posting this...but i took the whole family with me. they loved the trail and hopefully they will come with me again.
