  4. Hello everyone! First of all, I just cant believe that it has already been a year since my new begining! It really does go by fast once you finally get your surgery. This has been a life saver for me. I am so thankful everyday that I did this incredible thing for myself and for my family. I have lost more then 130 pounds! I am so happy, and I feel so wonderful.

    Completely Given Up

I sure hope you arent seriously upset over 40 pounds in 3 months. If you are then you are really in for some dissapointment in the next year. this isnt some majic fix that makes your fat suddenly disapear. unfortunatly people get some false hope that you will have the surgery and then a few months later poof you are suddenly skinny. it doesnt come on over night and certainly doesnt go away over night either. I was hungry all the time at first too. now my normal hunger is back, but i am just full faster. losing 40 pounds in 3 months is phenominal. be happy with whatever you lose, for at least you arent gaining.
  8. I didnt ever put anything on mine. They look great a year out now. Cant even see them uness I point them out to other people.

    Rant Post-Op Issues

I am so sorry you have had so many problems. I know you have probably heard this before, but I was in your shoes with the nausea, vomiting and diahrea for the first 2 months. I would drink water and then have the slims or just throw up. The feeling that your own stomach is eating your stomach....and a bunch of other things. I can tell you that it seemed to get worse at first, then finally I started to feel better at about 2 months out. Now at 10 months out I am so thankful that I got this surgery. I know it is hard in the moment, but it will pass eventually. Hope it is sooner then later! wishing all the best for you! ((hugs))
  10. I would do it for 70 pounds. My only regret is not having it done when I was younger. good luck with your decision!

    Help Pls Need Advice !

it took me about 2 months till I actually appriciated the sleeve. from about week 2 till the end of week 8 I would cry sometimes because I got the surgery....a bad case of buyers remorse. After everything was healed and I was able to tolerate regular foods, as well as drinking without getting sick I felt so much better. Now I am 10 months out and I am so used to the way my sleeve is that it is just second nature to stop eating when I now I will be full....and losing the weight will definatly help you feel better! there are all sorts of ways to get your protein in, just find one that works for you. I found some protein shots at walmart that work for me. 26 grams of protein, no carbs and 120 calories each. its quick and easy and I dont have to worry about not getting enough protein anymore. also I found it hard to get down a whole protein shake at first so just having a few sips to drink worked so much better for me. I hate the taste, but love the easy route! good luck!

    Comparison

there are always risks of complications for any surgery. Everyone will have a different story to tell because we all feel pain at different levels. Mine was very minimal. However I made sure to take all the pain meds offered. I am a firm believer in them! As far as feeling normal, on the 4th day out from surgery I was able to take my kids to the park, lay on the concrete on my stomach and draw with chalk with my daughter. I couldnt imagine doing that 4 days after having a c-section! good luck!

    Incisions?

I had 5.....if the doc uses a drain you will have 6...otherwise 5 is normal.

    Butt Injections

I would wait till after. I know I lost almost all of my butt....I would hate for you to have this done and then at the end you have lost so much that you need it again. I am having plastics done now for my deflated stomach, boobs and thighs. good luck!
  16. I have been looking back at some old pictures of myself at the heaviest weight that I was....and I cant help but want to cry for that woman I see in the pictures. I remember how sad she was. She hated herself everytime she looked in the mirror. She felt judged everytime she ate in public, or did anything in public. She felt like she didnt belong in her own family because they were all thin, and she was so fat. She felt so desperatly trapped, and didnt know what to do to get out. I dont miss her, I just feel sad for her, and want to cry for her because it took so long to get out of her prison. Now the person that I am is a free woman. No longer am I scared to eat in public, or be seen with my family. I love shopping, and dont feel like all the skinny women in stores are asking why I even bother shopping. I have energy, and sass. I want to do everything now....no more hiding! I am sexy, and my husband cant keep his hands off of me !!!! For anyone who is unsure if they should take this drastic measure to get everything back, and stop being in your own prison......DO IT! My only regret is that I didnt free that woman sooner. Thank God for the sleeve!

    Thank you!

I Want To Cry For Her

I did the exact same thing. I put my whole family first before me...but what I didnt realize was that I was depriving them of the very essance of me because I didnt want to go anywhere or do anything for fear of those other people judging me. Before I gained weight I was this person who did everything, and I realized that my children didnt really know the real me....the person who went skating and swimming and danced when nobody else was dancing. Every day know my kids are discovering something new about me. My oldest daughter said to me the other day that I got girly since I have lost weight. I told her I was always girly....its just harder when your bigger for others to see it. She also told me I laughed more and she likes it. That made me smile. If you put yourself first this time....it will mean the difference of just being there for the kids vs actually participating with them. You go get it girl! I wish the best for you and all others that are on the fence!
  19. you are welcome. wish you the best of luck! oh and btw I lost that weight from may 22nd to august 15th. so losing the amount you need to in 2 months is totally workable!

    Upset With Myself

I am 10 months out now and had a ruff patch a few months ago, where I was pretty non compliant with the diet and protein. I pretty much thought that I didnt really need to do what the doc said. I found out the hard way that the weight stopped coming off like it did when I followed the rules. We are all human and bound to make mistakes, just try to learn from them, and move on. dont beat yourself up over it. you will succeed if you really want it! smile
  21. I lost 37 pounds pre op doing slim fast shakes for breakfast and lunch....500 calories or less for dinner, and 3-100 calorie snacks in between each meal time. good luck!
  22. Sassygirl06

    Helllp.....

I dont really like any of the powders. I can tollerate the pre mixed stuff better, but not much. I prefer just to buy the protein shots(hate the taste too) but I can chug them down fast and my protein is done. 27 g a shot. good luck

    Fainting?!?!?

yes.....you sound like your blood sugar was low....or you were dehydrated.(or mabye both) make sure to get those liquids in, especially after a workout. I do get light headed from time to time when standing but that is due to low blood pressure. If this happens to you, just get up from a sitting or lying position slowly, to give your bp time to adjust. good luck!

I Want To Cry For Her

So happy to be able to help those that are in the beginning of the journey, and to be able to connect with those who are coming to the end of theirs too. It is so much easier alnog the way when you have someone to share these emotions with . I smile a lot more these days! Hope you all are too!
