Today Is My One Year Surgiversary...
Sassygirl06 replied to Lissa's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
beautifully written! you are doing great. sorry about the loss of your friend and the tornado. about the other friends that you have lost, im not sorry that you weeded out the junk...for a true friend would support you through the good and the bad. I have been fortunate not to lose any friends since my surgey, however I only have a few really close friends that I know I can rely on no matter what. I just celebrated my one year on the 16th of this month too! I posted new picts on my profile for it cause the old ones I had on there were from like 30 pounds ago. you are so correct about living life now instead of surviving, or just getting by.....what a difference a year can make in the life of a sleever! congrats on your surgiversary! -
yup...I drink without any problems. I dont do the beer or the mixed drinks with soda, but I can handle anything else. Be warned that you will be more sensitive to the effects and a lot faster, like withen a minute or 2. Also straight shots warm the belly really bad, but it doesnt hurt...kinda weird cause you can feel exactly where your new tummy is. dont do it to much, dont want any secondary addictions, as well as there are alot of carbs and empty calories in them. they have a new brand called skinny girl....havent tried it but it is low carb and calories.....a lot more money. good luck!

To Cruise Or Not To Cruise?
Sassygirl06 replied to nicole836's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Go for it! Cruises are soooo much fun! I loved mine. I would definatly hit up the thrift stores. They have great stuff year round, and with how fast we go through clothes it just makes more sence to pay less for the clothes until we reach goal. I also hit up the Kohls 80% off rack, where I can get some brand new stuff for less then the thrift store prices. Have fun on that cruise! -
No time is better then now! go for it!

Please Help! Need Advice.
Sassygirl06 replied to ElaineB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
did the doc's give you a reason for your not being able to breath on your own? It really sounds to me like you are overly sensitive to the medications that they gave you, even the percocet.....I would be really sceptic about going over there for the surgery when you needed this much follow up care for this simple surgery that you just had. fyi, if you have complications from the vsg, which was preformed by a doctor that was not in your network(or an approved surgery through your insurance) you will be on your own paying for any follow up care that your require. I wish you the best in any decision that you make. -

Hello 10 Weeks Out 1St Stall
Sassygirl06 replied to Shun's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
the stalls are going to happen no matter what. it is hard to deal with when you are in them, but they are common, and does not mean you are not going to lose again. your body needs time to adjust to everything. you will be fine, just put the scale away for a while and start measuring yourself with the tape instead. you will make it through! ((hugs)) -
Bloating After Eating
Sassygirl06 replied to dreamnslim2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
same here...I will get the bloated feeling if I overeat. the one thing that isnt to bad is that if I do need to throw up at least there isnt any stomach acid in it, so it tastes the same going out as it did going in. you will get better at telling when you are full as you go along. now I know if I get the hiccups it is time to stop or I will feel very uncomfortable. good luck! -

Will I Ever Be Able To Chug Water Again?
Sassygirl06 replied to TiredOfChubRub's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am more then a year out now, and while I cant "chug" water I can drink about 4-6 ounces at a time now as long as my tummy is empty. It gets easier to get used to as you go -

Hi And Info Please?
Sassygirl06 replied to want2live's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it took me 1.5 months to get all the testing done.....1/2 a month for the company to submit to the insurance...and 4 days for approval. however all insurance company's are different. some require a supervised diet and other stuff. I was lucky cause my friend has the same insurance as me...I got my sleeve approved 2 months before she sent in for approval and the insurance company changed the requirement to a 6 month supervised diet before approval....let me tell you she was pissed! no matter what the wait is though, it is worth every second! -
Strange Hard Things Under My Skin....?
Sassygirl06 replied to Dooter's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
haha! I had that problem when I was laying in the bath....I saw my ribs sticking out and I thought I had some growths going on. I laughed histerically when I realized what they were. -
So my hubby and my daughters went into Kmart to buy something. After they went in I realized that I needed something. I went in and got the thing I needed. I was at the register paying for my stuff when my hubby and kiddos came up to the register across from me. I saw my hubby look over at me, at which time I thought he realized that it was me. He looked me up from the feet to the top.....and then came across my face and then shook his head. He didn't realize that it was me at all. When he did his face had this shocked and embarressed look on it. He laughed and said, "I just got caught checking out my own wife....haha!" I thought it was pretty cool that I am skinny (and sexy) enough for my own hubby to check me out Love it!!!!

An Nsv That Made Me Blush ;p
Sassygirl06 replied to Sassygirl06's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I didnt even think of that one. it was just me on auto pilot I guess. now that I think of it, I believe that this is something I still just do...go into the handicapped stall....I bet everyone who is in the bathroom just thinks I am an inconsiderate "B".......I guess I better stop using those bathrooms! -
that is so wonderful! I'm sure your horses are happy too! you look so happy in your picture. congrats, I know how wonderful it feels to be free of the weight!
-
those stalls happen to us all. I have been in one for 2 months now. It happens more frequently the closer you are to goal. dont let it discourage you. you will make it through!
