I have gout too....if you stick to a low purien (not sure if I spelt that right) diet it will help with flare ups. avoid cured meats, like bacon and jerky, especialy deli meats. avoid red meats and alcohol as well. I still have some of these things, in moderation, but I havent had any flare ups since I started limiting those sourses of protien. hope this helps!

Pre-Op Liquid Diet.... So Far... Not So Good.
Sassygirl06 replied to SkinnyAnnie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my opinion is that you are not going to be able to have them after the surgery...it just plain hurts to try (yes I have) so try to kick that habit as soon as you can. it will be hard at first...but you can do it! -

I wrote on one of the forums about 3 months ago, pretty much the same thing. I said that I wanted to cry for her, that person that I see in those pictures. It is really hard to look at them and not be sad, but you have to just move on and put it out of your mind. you are a different person now, so live it up! By the way, the way that you are losing is exactly how I would lose. Only right after my TOM. So needless to say, I started looking forward to getting my period every month! haha!

It's Labor Day And I Just Want A Beer!
Sassygirl06 replied to lilly11781's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a year out and cant really take carbonation at all still. I have had a beer since surgery, but it took me about 1.5 hour to drink it, and of course it was flat and warm by then. knot very enjoyable. I do not recommend it at all for those of you that are in your early months. you will not like the feeling it gives your sleeve! you could always put some in your mouth like a mouthwash, swish around and spit it out...lol! -

Recovery Time... Advice Needed Please
Sassygirl06 replied to coops's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
the answer to if you can have them both at the same time is yes, it will be cheaper too. the recovery time is about 6 weeks till you feel normal again. I would think about doing it around the winter holiday. havent had the surgerys yet, so I am going off of my research that I have been doing. good luck! -
when I was on my pre op liquid diet I cheated with a 6 dollar burger at carls jr.....It was so bad! but I got right back on the horse, and didnt fall off again....you will be fine!

you can do it! and if you dont lose as much as you need to with the sleeve it is an easy convert to the bypass. welcome to the site!

Losing Hair... Chop It All Off?
Sassygirl06 replied to kmbrlycool's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I changed mine when it started falling out. I went shorter in the back with a a line cut forward. I would definately cut it shorter, no bangs, but get some highlights in there, at least 2 different ones to blend in, and add definition. also if you part it in the middle or the side, with it hanging down it will cover that thin spot on the side better. it will also help you look younger if you dont have it back in a pony tail or bun....also stop breakage when you put it back in the pony tail. good luck! -

Well today I had a protein shakefor breakfast, I just finished a cabbage salad with tomatoes, feta cheese, pepperchinies, and mushrooms topped with a ceasar dressing for lunch.....and for dinner I'm not quite sure yet....but last night I had a small piece of bbq chicken with a side salad. I am trying to be so good right now so that I can lose these last 29 pounds so that I can have plastics in January!

8 Weeks Out, Still Having Issues
Sassygirl06 replied to lulugirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wonder if having the band prior to the vsg has aided to the complications? I am sorry to hear about you issues that have been happening. I know that without those complications I had issues for the first 2-3 months with getting anything down and keeping up with the liquids. Hopefully they will be able to fix the problem soon, and you will be on your way to a healthier you! ((hugs)) -
