5 months post op weight loss

I had lost 80 pounds by five months, but I had a lot to lose. Lol

    here we go!

Congrats on a new beginning! I just wanted to tell you that having a plan is wonderful, and hopefully everything goes according to plan....but please expect some things to happen that aren't on your plan. It only took me 4 days to recover physically, and I was back to kickboxing within a month....but as far as figuring out how and when to eat took a lot of work and a few months to figure out. I just wanted to let you know that you have to be prepared to deviate from the plan when needed...this was hard for me because I am a planner as well! Lol Again congrats on the quick approval, and to a wonderful new beginning!

    Letter to insurance company

My doc did my account of diet history for me, even though it was the first time seeing him. He just wrote down all the past diets I had been on and stated that they didn't work. I would just write down all of the diets you have tried and the periods of time you tried them. They just want to see that you have tried and failed at other ones....which obviously we all have...lol good luck!

    Please help!

Yes, you may need a different ppi. Go to your doc and let him know how you're feeling. He may prescribe something else to help with the nausea. Hope you feel better! ((Hugs))
  6. Get it out! That **** is dangerous! Literally! Don't mess around with that stuff! Lol...I have had patients die from that sh.. So get it out!

    feeling hope slipping away

All of us who go through insurance have a whole bunch of hoops to jump through. The doctor wants you to get the surgery...just wants to be safe. When there is a will there is a way...just do all of the appointments. Keep on trecking!

    Throat is killing me!

Yes mine started hurting about 2 days after surgery. It went away about day 4.

    TMI alert!

The antibiotics are enough to give you one. Eating yogurt will help. As well as plenty of OTC medicines. Even if you still have it when you go for surgery it won't stop it. Although I would try my hardest to get rid of it before surgery....would hate to deal with pain and itchiness down there too!

    Regrets?

My thoughts about results 10- 20 years later are that...at least I will be alive that long in the future. The road I was headed down led to a casket by the time I was 40! Now I know that I will be around for weddings of my children and to see the birth of my grandchildren. Before I had this surgery I was buying life insurance for me for when I died....because I had no doubt that I would be dead within a few years. My only regret=not doing this surgery sooner!

    4.5 months and concerned

You have lost 124 pounds! That's a cheerleader! Don't expect it to come off fast...just that it comes off. I was happy at anywhere between a 4-10 pound drop in a month...and you are doing double digits. Stop beating yourself up...and have fun with life!

Welcome to the site! I am so thankful to see someone knew say that they only weigh once a month! This is awesome! I continue to say again and again...stop weighing yourselves daily, or even weekly...it will drive you nuts. Go by your clothes....are they lose? Did you go down a size. I was a size 26-24 and now I am a size 7-10... Don't need the scale to tell me I lost weight! Lol anyhow welcome to the site!

    New

I'm sorry but I had to comment on this. Saying only 25 pounds is exactly why there are so many people out there comparing themselves to others weight loss. Everyone loses differently, and at different rates. As far as ONLY 25 pounds.....just think...she has lost on average 8 pounds a month, which is wonderful. She only weighs herself once a month.....which is fantastic! And she has probably hit that dreaded stall that we all get...which you probably haven't been sleeved long enough to get yet. I want you to remember that statement further down the road when you are only losing a pound or two in a month...and you will be dying for 8 pound numbers. I'm not trying to be critical, I just wanted you to know that not everyone's going to drop 20+ pounds every month.

    Relaps

We all lose our way at some point. What's important is that you realize that you have. As well as that you desire to get back on track. I have a feeling that if you know why you have stopped losing then you know what you need to do to start losing again. Get out there and move it! Good luck

    big scar

Ive heard of a lot of surgeons saying this. I think it's a precaution on their part, so that you know it could have to be done....as well as to let you know that he means business when it comes to your pre op diet. Good luck!
  17. Already got rid of all mine! Sorry! Walmart carries them now...about $10-12 for tops same for bottoms.
  18. I like the peach tea. My friend told me that she went to their website and ordered a bunch of flavors not carried in stores like apple margarita and such. Good luck.
  19. I had a huge case of the blues after surgery. It's normal..and it's normal to hit a three week stall...you're right in that time frame. Defiantly stop weighing! You will start feeling better soon. And unlike with weight watchers...this actually helps KEEP the weight off!
  20. Thanks for sharing! Congrats on your new body!
  21. Sounds like something else going on...stomach flu, or food poisoning. Hope you feel better!

The mind is a scary, scary thing!

I feel the same way. I see old pictures of me and I barely recognize myself. I can't believe I let myself get that big. I used to see bigger people and I would think to myself...god I would never let myself get that big! Trouble was that I was already that big. Now my problem is that I can't believe I'm as small as I am. When I hold up a pair of my pants my mind can't grasp that those are gonna fit me. Same as when I pass myself in a full length mirror. I get startled at the stranger in the reflection. I. Have a few pictures of my daughter and I standing next to each other, and she is a size five, and I am completely blown away that we are so close to the same size now! It's freaky!!! But wonderful
  23. I am a psych tech in a mental hospital...and I can tell you that if the same person is interviewed by 10 different psychologists or psychiatrists that patient will have 10 different diagnosis. I think it's hilarious! It's just one big crap shoot! Lol Glad to know you are a good candidate!

Best way to tighten inner thighs !?!

I wish! My legs are beautiful....just up until you get to the upper thigh...then extra skin my doc said that I don't need lipo, but I could do an upper thigh lift with the scars in the groin, instead of going down the leg. He told me to wait till after my tt though because he said with the skin removal and stitching with that it might give me tighter upper thighs...I shall see.

    Fever

Just to be safe I would. He will probably say not to worry, but it's really close out from surgery..so just be safe.
