    Slow Loser here +---+

That isn't losing slow....but anyways I will address the issue with slow losing. The slower you lose.....the less hair that falls out....the better your skin recovers....and the healthier it is. I had months where I lost nothing....and then little by little....those numbers kept adding up, and now...holy cow! I have lost 141 pounds. It took me 1.5 years.....no I didn't drop 100 pounds in 3 months like some guys and a very few women can do....but in the end, I still lost it. Stop worrying about how fast it comes off.....and start enjoying the fact that it IS coming off. Slow and steady wins the race....lol good luck

    24

Well congrats on your new start. I gained my weight young from my pregnancy s...had all of my babies by the time I was 26 and my tubes tide as well. My skin has done very well with the weight loss. The only thing that I really need removed is my tummy due to stretch marks from pregnancy. You are young, so the younger you are the better your skin recovers. Good luck! Congrats!

    99lbs Lost!

Looking fantastic! Good job! Keep it up!!!
  5. The first time I got out of bed in the hospital was the only time I required help getting up.....that was mainly because I wanted to make sure I didn't fall over or anything. After that when I needed to go anywhere I needed him to drive me for the first 4 days till I no longer needed pain meds. Once that was over I was fine being on my own. I didn't need him to do anything but those two things. Everyone is different, but I felt more pain from my tubaligation then this surgery.

    masturbation or sex safe?

There is NO reason you have to wait six weeks...you don't even have to wait that long to exercise. Whenever you feel up to the task, and as long as it doesn't hurt. Don't be doing no crazy dominatrix stuff or anything....but enjoy away! If its good enough you will be burning calories the best way there is! Hehe.
  7. I have had this problem too...my friends did not know about the surgery, however the bigger friends had a very hard time with me losing the weight....one of them who was smaller then me and now isn't is constantly putting me down with the comment, oh I better get into shape....you are almost smaller then me...I just ignore it, cause I know it's her low self esteem...but it would be nice if they could just be happy for me and leave the snide remarks out of it. If they are truly your friends this will pass and you will come out of it just fine. Good luck!
  8. I never got the hang of small bites and chew chew chew. I had a hard time with it in the beginning. I'm 1.5 years out now. I am still a fast eater, and I chew normally. I don't have any problems. However when I am eating with someone who doesn't know about the surgery I eat very slow and chew a lot cause it makes it look like I am eating more...lol My biggest problem was with gulping. Couldn't do that for a very long time...now I can, just not a whole 12 oz bottle at a time. Not drinking with meals was extremely hard as well. Now I am able to enjoy a little water with a meal...which hasn't effected my weight loss either, I don't eat more because of it. Good luck!

    Day two. Failed yesterday

I think I can...I think I can! Positive thoughts your way! Don't look back, only forward. You got this! (( hugs))
  10. I would do it all over again and again. You already answered whether or not you can do it on your own. My youngest was 7 when I had my surgery and 4 days after surgery I was able to take her to the park and play with her. We payed on our Timmy's drawing with chalk on the side walk. Everyone has different experiences and some people have complications, some have none. I can't say that it was all peaches and cream, but was it worth it? Hell yeah it was! I can do so many things I never imagined possible....heck, look at my profile picture....that's me ice skating! Not ever would I have been able to do that before....and my kids love that mom can keep up and do the same things as them now. I did this for my little ones especially...I will be here for them not only as a fun mom while they are growing up, but also for when then have major life events when they are grown! This mama is going to be around a long time now! Good luck with your decision!
  11. So I am a year and a half out, and I am not used to big numbers anymore...but I lost 21 pounds since January 1st! I am really excited...almost there. I have noticed that the smaller I get the more the weight loss shows. Losing 5 pounds when I was 300 pounds no one could tell, but losing 5 pounds now and everyone is yakking at me about it! Lol

  12. We have all been there. It is extremely hard to stay on a diet, that's why they don't work. What I did to lose my weight pre op was replaced two meals with protein shakes, had 3 100 calorie snacks a day and a dinner with less then 500 calories in it. It worked for me very well, I ended up losing 28 pounds in a month and a half. Good luck!

    But WHY? ...

The weight loss is so fast the body goes into shock causing the hair follicle to shed. It's kind of like how chemo patients lose their hair. It will grow back. In the mean time...there are cute hats and scarves you can use to disguise. You could even go get some hair extensions to thicken it. Get some that are different colors and have fun with it. I ended up cutting my hair down to a cute short bob to make it look fuller. Good luck...and happy styling!
  14. Congrats to all of you! Your hard work is paying off...keep it up!

    skin elasticity?

All my skin has faired well except for my stomach, however I had 3 kids and had stretch marks from them. Drinking plenty of water and milk baths have been my secret. Good luck!

    Why Should i Get Sleeved?

The fact that you would be alive at that age with the surgery versus without..that was enough for me.i wouldn't have lived to be 50 at the rate I was going. This surgery has been around for a very long time. It is just recently being brought to light for weight loss, however there have been conditions such as cancer and ulcers and such for use of this for years. Good luck with your decision.

    Quick question...

I actually get hungry...but in the beginning I didn't, but I would get a sick feeling as well as sometimes getting hiccups. Just don't forget to eat! Haha
  18. Sassygirl06

    Coffee talk

Doesn't hurt the sleeve, but it's due to the caffeine in it that we should avoid it...caffeine is a hunger stimulant. Anything in moderation isn't going to totally throw you off course. Good luck!

    Gramps has still got it!

    Nice feeling...isn't it? Lol

    Alcohol

I had my first drink 3 weeks out. I was at my sisters house, she didn't know about the surgery. She pored me a shot, and I knew if I didn't drink it the questions would start. I got buzzed off of that one shot...but it didn't hurt me. After that I waited a few more months to drink again. It still effects me more now then ever before. I only drink socially, and I am currently 20 pounds from my goal weight...not my surgeons goal which I passed 70 pounds ago, but my own goal. As for cross over addictions, it is very easy to develop them so we all got to watch ourselves! Good luck!
  21. It takes a little while for some of us, others are lucky. I would get sick at the slightest thing....and don't get me started on the slimes! I had major buyers remorse for about the first 3 months...and then wasn't happy but wasn't mad for the next three months. Finally about 6 months out I began feeling great about the sleeve. I can eat anything I want now, except if I try to eat a lot of sweets it makes me queazy, but I consider that a good thing! Lol

My 3 month photo made me cry

That is how I feel. I was so depressed, and sad all the time. I didn't want to go anywhere or do anything because I was so embarrassed by my weight. There wasn't a minute that would go by that I wasn't thinking about it. Thankfully I am starting to finally be freed from my prison body!
  23. Sassygirl06

    oh holy regret

Not gonna blast you...I have done the same things. Eventually you will know when that last bite will hurt you. I especially get weak around my period. I even feel like I can fit more food during that time too. You know what you did...just learn from it and move on...don't beat yourself up! ((Hugs)) hope you feel better fast!

My 3 month photo made me cry

I completely understand. I once wrote on here...I want to cry for her...that girl I see in the pictures....the old me...I feel so sad for her. I can see all the pain in her eyes. She feels like she trapped in a prison, which is in fact her own body. I thank god every day for my new start in life!
