    4 Month Update W/ Pics

You look so much younger! Way to go!
  2. I got something similar for the first 6 months. Felt like my new stomach was so hungry that it was eating itself. I still get it occasionally when I have gone longer then 3 hours Inbetween meals, but other then that it is gone. Hope this is something that will go away for you. Good luck!

Feel like i am loosing control.

Is this all happening around you Tom? Or is it just all the time? I get this way a couple days before my period and it lasts a couple of days. Try to have good stuff always available. Don't buy the crap and you won't have it around to tempt you. Good luck!
  4. I used to be in constant pain. My back, neck, feet, and knees were always hurting. I am a year and a half post op, down 141 pounds...since losing about 60 pounds of it my pain is gone! I also suffer from gout, and I haven't had any flair ups since about three months post op. good luck! Hope yours goes away too!

I was fat to long, so I had to buy all new ones cause all the old ones were really out of style. But I love shopping!

    Question! 1 day post op

I got this too. I had it for a couple months...didn't hurt really, just really annoying. Congrats!

    Need advice asap!

I had a hard time eating an egg at a month out. It hurt. There are protein shots at Walmart. They have 24-27 grams protein and they are only 3 ounces. The fruit punch was the best to me. Very very very cold, almost freezing made them easier to swallow. Still taste not so great, but it's a lot less to get down the 8-16 ounces of protein shake you can't stand. Good luck!

    fun thread

I was a ruler. Same measurements for boobs waist and hips. I finally have a little hourglass going on now! Woo hoo!
  11. I have to eat every 3 hours or I literally feel sick. I don't eat full meals, but I have something, like a piece of cheese or a few slices of deli meat. I eat about 1000 calories a day or so...don't really keep track. I have lost 141 pounds so far. I also exercise regularly. I think the exercise is more important then anything. I lose so much more when I get it in regularly. Good luck.
  12. A year and a half post op here....and it gets so much better! You will get through this and you will be smiling on the other side!
  13. Yes! Yes! And more yeses! I don't know if it's the hormones or not, but I am able to eat more a couple days before I start until almost the end. Cravings are horrible, but that's nothing new. I just try and never be hungry. I keep lots of good snacks on hand, like veggies, and meat and cheese. Don't but the junk...makes it easier to avoid. If you must then try and get some Atkins bars....some of them are just like having a real candy bar. There are also these really good chocolate treats that are sugar free that are delicious, however don't have more then two...otherwise your tummy will be hurting and you will be sitting on the toilet. Good luck!
  14. I had little pimples all over my arms and legs, plus blackheads would form on my thighs and in cracks, sometimes blisters...that is all gone now. My kids were giving me a massage as a present and they were both like...omg mom your skin is so soft, what do you do to get it so soft? I had to laugh! Lol
  15. My skin has never been smoother. My cholesterol is 140 down from 214. My lipids are 133 down from 190. My liver is no longer throwing enzymes. My blood pressure is normally 115-120/55-65 down from 150-130/100-80. I can have sex in any position and breath. I don't pee my underwear anymore when coughing, sneezing, picking something up, laughing or farting.(lol) my lady parts don't stink anymore. I don't sweat like a stuffed pig in the fire anymore. I can cross my legs. I can fit into my bath tub and soak!i don't have to wait for the handicapped bathroom stall anymore, I fit in the regular one. When i am eating in public no one stares at me....like omg...why is she eating that? All the seat belts fit for everything. I can go on all the amusement park rides! I get checked out by the opposite sex. My self confidence is back. And there are so many more...but I would have to write a book to get them all. The best good side effect would be that I am living life to the fullest again...if there is something I want to do I don't think...can I do that? I know I can! I feel so blessed and lucky!

    completely freaking out!

I think we all have been there. Try and think about the long term effects this way; would you be around long term without this surgery? My answer was no. Enough said...that's why I got this surgery. Good luck!
  17. I was in a lot of pain when I first woke up....but the key is to communicate with the nurses if you are in pain...they will get the doc to give you more...or something else. Some people feel like they are bothering the nurses....I say, that's the most important job they have is pain management. If you are in pain you aren't going to get up and get moving, which is key to a safe and speedy recovery. Until you have something to compare it with everyone's view of the pain isn't going to make sense to you. Just make sure to ask for better meds if you need them. After I got the good stuff I was able to get up and walk two hours after surgery. Because of that I didn't have to wear those stupid compression cuffs...and I felt so much better so much faster. Good luck! And congrats to your new beginning!

    very disappointed

You need to get back on track....the sleeve won't do all the work. I'm willing to bet you are not exercising, and you aren't eating what you should be. You did this to change your life....and you aren't using the tool. There are so many people out there that can't get this surgery and would do anything to get it....work your tool girl. Hopefully when you get on these pills you will use then and there to start all over...pick yourself up and get moving! ((Hugs))

    QUICK BIRThDAY QUESTION

You may have some lactose tolerance issues...some of us do. But yes...I think you can splurge if your tummy feels ok with it...take it slow! Happy early birthday to you!
  20. Welcome! There is defiantly a lot of support here. Congrats on starting your new life!

    Questions to ask the Surgeon

I should have asked if he did a leak test or not after surgery. Turns out mine doesn't normally do it, however I felt really uncomfortable not having it done, so during a visit from him in the hospital I requested that he give me one anyways, which he did. It's something you should know about I feel. Good luck!

    masturbation or sex safe?

Not everyone gets stitches....I didn't. I had steri strips...and my incisions were completely closed by day five. I had sex at about a week out....and it was great. Heck I gave birth, had my va jay jay stitched up from the v to the a and still had sex less then 3 weeks after that. All those dissolvable stitches were gone by then even. Try it...if it hurts then don't do it....if it doesn't.....yeah you! Lol
  23. Sassygirl06

Does walking get easier after the sleeve?

Yes it is much easier. I have no knee or joint pain anymore. I used to have very bad back pain, thought I was going to be miserable for the rest of my life....and I have no back pain at all anymore. I also suffer from gout, and I haven't had any issues with it at all since I lost about 40 pounds.
  24. Sassygirl06

    Stitches

I never had stitches, just steri strips. I also didn't get a drain, not all surgeons do the sleeve with a drain.
  25. Sassygirl06

    2 months post op!

I have to eat every 3 hours or I feel like my sleeve is eating my intestines. It gets worse around my period. I feel like I can eat more during that time, as well as being more hungry. Make sure that when you are eating you are eating stuff that's going to help you and not hurt you. Good luck!
