kicked off of a fair ride....
Sassygirl06 replied to kali480's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That was one of my nsv's.....being able to get on all of the amusement park rides. There were many rides I couldn't go on because of weight. I am a year and 7 months post op....and now I can ride everything! This too shall pass, soon you will be able to fit on anything you want. Sorry this happened to you...but it will be such a relief when you are able to not worry about if you can fit or not! good luck! -
Post-Op Pain and Help
Sassygirl06 replied to MsZeta's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only really needed someone to drive me home. After that I could do anything else by myself. Make sure to fill your prescription before surgery, and do your shopping for your shakes and pudding and anything else you are allowed by your doc right before you go. You should be fine. Good luck! -
I had this happen. I just told them I couldn't because I had other plans but scheduled a date further out to go. Then when I was able to eat again I would order a salad....if you chew chew chew you can pretty much eat the whole salad, because its not bulky and then no one suspects anything. Good luck!

Women Only! Please!
Sassygirl06 replied to Mozzy562's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sugar free fudge pops. Or sf jello with a squirt of whipped cream on top! Yummy! I always get mad cravings right before Tom comes, and I can eat more too. It always helps me lose weight after it though. If you do slip don't beat yourself up about it, just get back on track after. we are human, we defiantly aren't perfect. -
I lost a whole shoe size! It's wonderful cause I was a size 10-11 in women's, which means I could only find ugly shoes to wear...now I can fit size 9's and there are so many more cute shoes in that size. Love it!

I started losing my hair at about 3 months. Lasted for about 3 more months. My hair looks really healthy and shiny now. As for the skin....I am so thankful for this surgery because of my new soft skin (as well as many more reasons). I used to have pimples everywhere, including arms, legs, butt, back and face. Now a year and a half later and my skin is so smooth and soft, no more acne at all!

I ate way to fast!
Sassygirl06 replied to mattsbelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will learn. I used to do it all the time for about 6 months. Now I have it down. Good luck! -
Make sure to tell the nurses if you are in pain. Be your own Patient advocate. If the meds they give you aren't taking the pain away ask for different ones. Then since you have enough pain meds you will be able to get up and get moving. The faster you move the better the blood flow, blood flow equals faster healing. Good luck! You will do fine!

Cholesterol seven months out
Sassygirl06 replied to Livinglifeout's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Those cholesterol meds kill your liver! Your liver is already stressed enough processing all the fat that you are losing. If you are worried about your cholesterol then eat leaner meat, and less beef or pork. Some shell fish are really high in cholesterol as well, like shrimp.....very high. Make sure to eat a lot of high fiber veggies, it helps lower as well. I am serious about those meds...read all of the warnings for them. There are reasons why they need to do liver tests before you take them, and while you are taking them. They also have no proof that they will actually prevent anything. My cholesterol has never been lower since surgery btw. I have dropped major points. Good luck! -
Is hetting your galbladder removed somthing everyone goes thru after surgery?
Sassygirl06 replied to newme31's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A low caloric diet is a cause of gallbladder issues. Not everyone has these issues however there are a high percentage of people that do require it later down the road. I have been a lucky one who has not had any issues and I am 19 months out. Most surgeons have you sign a document stating that while you are under the knife if he believes you are at risk of developing, or have already developed gall stones they have your permission to remove it. Good luck! -
Six months out and pain in right side about a level 7
Sassygirl06 replied to Kissmytwits's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gallbladder pain won't go away with repositioning. Does it come and go? Or is it always hurting? That is the right area for the pain to be, as well as the fact that it gets stronger when you eat. Sounds like its time to get in to see the doc...better safe then sorry. -
spontaneous hurl.
Sassygirl06 replied to Rycherchick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The bread swelled in your sleeve....causing you to be to full, which intern causes the excess saliva, which made you hurl. Used to happen to me all the time. I know when to stop eating now so I don't salivate like that anymore. -
No matter what you take it's still going to fall out. I had really long hair and although it was really thick to begin with I was noticing it falling out badly. My hair dresser suggested that I cut it in a bob, and put highlights and low lights to mimic more depth. It really did work, and no one was able to notice the loss. I actually look so much better with the short hair that I decided to keep it even after the hair loss stopped. Good luck!

Hopefully after your weight loss you will become more regular with your cycle like I did. I used to never know when it was coming, or how long it would be...and now I know that every 30 days it will be here like clock work, and it will last 3.5-4 days. It is much better. As for the stalls...I noticed that I would stop losing weight, if not gain a pound or two right before my period, as well as be hugrier and able to eat more with it. Then within two days of my period being over I would start losing drastically....like 4-6 pounds within a week and a halfway time. It got to be where I would look forward to my period coming because I knew that after it was done I would lose a bunch. As for losing slowly....I am thankful for the slow weight loss that I did have because I am not battling loose skin now. Good luck to you, and try not to stress to much about these things...stress helps you hold onto weight more anyways.

Mine went way down this last 20 pounds. I was a 44 dd when I started journey...last week I had to buy a 36 d...with padding! Not happy with that! Now I need to go get some boobs!
-
Hiccups here as well....only about four, then they are gone. I also get them if I get really hungry. Very strange.

How scary...I'm so glad I'm married. I defiantly would draw the line for him clearly. Whatever you do I would not have sex with this guy on the first couple of dates! I hope you are meeting him in a very public place, or with a friend. Good luck girl!

I had to pluck long before surgery. Tried getting laser removal but if you have light pigment it won't work...has to be dark. This is a thing that a lot of women get with age. Sucks. Tweezers are my best friend.

How any people had a stall at 3 weeks and how long
Sassygirl06 replied to ShrinkingInSeattle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stalled at three weeks...and it lasted about 3 weeks. There will be more stalls then just that. I had one at a year that lasted about four months. Thought I wasn't going to lose anymore but then it broke and I started losing again. Just gotta role with it. When you stop losing start measuring and stop weighing. -
Any Bakersfield, Ca sleevers?
Sassygirl06 replied to Reescup01's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved in Bakersfield by dr. Garcia. -
Motrin for headache?
Sassygirl06 replied to minnie78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tylenol is an NSAID too. It's due to the thinning of the blood that we aren't supposed to take it post op. thankfully after we are all healed we can take them again. Still got to make sure so etching is in our stomach first so that we don't hurt it...especially before Motrin. -
Motrin for headache?
Sassygirl06 replied to minnie78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When were you sleeved? If it was within the last month then I would say no...however if you are more then a month out then you should be fine. I take regular Motrin all the time..I just make sure to have something in my tummy first. -
I was going in for the lap band and found out about the sleeve. I chose it for because there was no extra trips to the doctors, plus I heard so many bad things about the lap band. I couldn't be happier with the sleeve.

plateaued?!?!
Sassygirl06 replied to Jorgensensgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's the three week stall....happens more often then not. Mine lasted about 4 weeks, then finally the scale started moving. Don't worry! This will pass, and you will start losing again. -
Hopefully you get the hormone boost like I did after losing some weight...cause I can't get enough of it. I hope he's doing it right for you!
