Weight Gain During Pregnancy With Lap Band
kissme replied to Lady Lap Band's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I am now 8.5 weeks. The port pain went away not sure what caused it? I haven't had any fluid removed, I have 6cc in currently, however I am still able to eat. I lost a pound so far I'm hoping not to gain more than 11 lbs. once I'm past my first trimester I am back to hitting the gym! I can't wait!! -
So I'm 8 months out from surgery and pregnant (had doctor approval first)! Now I'm 6 weeks pregnant but wanting to stay on track. I definitely want to be healthy about it for the baby's sake but I don't want the same mentality I had with my first child (pre banding). I don't want to gain 60 lbs again when I am still so over weight. 11 is the MAX I want to gain, and that's what doctors recommend with my BMI. Is anyone else that is pregnant want to pair up and be my buddy?! <3, Amanda

No Progress In Over A Month And Frustrated!!
kissme replied to kissme's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Have you had success losing again since this post? I'm pregnant now, so now my goal is to maintain and not lose until the baby is born, but I also don't want to gain. I've read a lot of success stories about women with the band gaining very little and having healthy babies so I think I might talk to my nutritionist and get advice on how to do this. -

I am currently 6 weeks pregnant with very little morning sickness. I didn't have much sickness with my first child either, however, I am already having some port pain. Anyone else experience this as early as I am? -

Question For Those Of You Who Are Pregnant
kissme replied to Cjm10's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Did you have any complications getting pregnant so soon after? Did you get unfilled or did you keep your band filled? I was banded in February but my husband and I want to start trying for our second kid. I know they want you to wait longer, but I'm already weighing less than when I became pregnant the first time. Where my band is now with 6 cc's of fluid, I think I could keep the fluid in. I'm able to eat enough still. But I'm already 40 lbs down from where I started! -
Hello! I am now down 30-35lbs depending on the day! How is everyone else doing?! My goal is to be dwn another 30 by the end of the year. I'm going in for another adjustment in 2 weeks.

Hello!!! I was banded 02-13 we have a February bandster page! Look it up!

My port is located near my belly button its the largest incision. Not sure if its the same for you. I didn't have staples but the otherday my incisions were so red and itchy it was driving me nuts for a few days. My doctor said it was normal and it was my skin reacting to the tape even though the tape had been off for a few days they recomended benadryl or cortizone cream around them just not on them. I underst and the bed thing. We had to buy a step stool so I could get in amd out olus my husband had to assist. Luckily he was home in leave for a week from the navy to help out. I also get the broth thing. I couldn't do it either. Jello seemed to be my best friend. It gets easier everyday and especially when the gas pains go away. I can pretty much tolerate anything at this point as long as I remind myself to chew well enough. I cant wait to have my fills done. I lost 14 lbs post op on the liquid diet but I have already put 4 back on. I need to feel that restriction! Good luck everyone!

My first week was over today, I'm actually able to eat some solids already as ling as I chew super well! I still have been wanting to sleep it off a ton though. I think I'm being overly cautious but better that than not being cautious enough!
-
I never even thought of a heating pad that's a great idea!
-
Congrats! I believe 5 is the normal amount of incisions but I could be wrong. The gas pain that you feel was definitely the worse for me, especially when it moved into my chest. Get well soon!

I just weighed myself and now I'm down 14lbs post op!!!!
-
Great!! Each day you will be surprised how fast your body will heal, I'm one week post op today and I barely take the pain Meds now. Mostly only use them at night. I'm glad things went smooth for you!
-
I wasn't allowed anything except coffee, crystal light, jello, protein bars/shakes, and water but if you are allowed smoothies then go for it!
-
Teeny, are you post op or pre op? Pre op was more of a mind thing. You want to eat but the proteins should be filling you up. Drink tons of water! Sometimes hunger doesn't actually mean hunger it means thirsty. Post Op, I have no idea cause I am totally not hungry at all.
