Ok, so last night i was feeling a little less than ideal, but this morning was the worst. This is day 8, and the pain was as bad as ever--felt like i was going backwards. I guess it was gas, in my abdomen and shoulder, which was weird cuz my shoulder was never really hurting prior to today. I called the surgeon's office, and they called me like 3 times throughout the day to check on me, which was nice. They said it sounded typical, but to let them know if it got any worse. Sucks, cuz i was all excited abt advancing to soup and yogurt, and barely had anything today because i was n so much pain. I basically slept all day and had one trip to the bathroom. Doing better now, but wow, what was that? Anybody else have what felt like a setback at this point post op? Thanks for reading...

Thanks for all your suggestions and encouragement, guys. I'm pretty sure i'm dehydrated, or well on my way, so today's goal is to get down as much as I possibly can. I have the gasx strips and hubby is picking me up some liquid tylenol later today. I did have some success yesterday with the old school butt in the air pose too, BbM!

I was told it would be ok to open it up, but i started one week after surgery, not 3... Hmmm...

I was prescribed ths same thing, 2x/day for 6 mos. they gave me a month's worth and i have 5 refills. The pill is huge though, so i opened it and sprinkled onto a spoonfull of pudding oh, and my is 300 mg.

I was in for 2 nights, and that seemed to be the standard.

I have the Ninja Master Prep and I love it. Cost be about $30 at Walmart. It has a "traditional" blender container and a small food processor container and you just connect the motor to whichever you want to use. It turns ice cubes into snow and I add about 2-3 oz of juice or crystal light for a hydrating slush (I'm only 6 days out). I also have 3 blender bottles for mixing other drinks.

I was also told that wrapping your tummy in warm towels (moist heat) helps with gas bubbles too. I have a microwaveable "bed buddy" that's been soothing in that area.

I too was given the lortab elixir...it is a bit--tangy, but it seems to kick in pretty quickly. I'm day 4 now, and I do feel better than yesterday...I was Rxd levsin, I think, but I haven't taken it yet cuz the pharmacy didnt have it and had to wait for today to ask the doc if a substitute was ok...gasx strips in the meantime...Hope you start to feel better soon!

Hi everyone, This is my first post, though I've been lurking for about a month My pre-op appt is December 1st, and they plan to do everything (labs, nutrition counseling, education, psych) that day. I'm going to be self-pay, and was really surprised to get approved for enough loan $ in a matter of 24 hours. Now that it's coming together, I'm starting to get nervous, but I'm really excited! Anyway, just wanted to officially check in and get involved. Thanks for all your posts so far, it's really been helpful to read so much about others' journeys!

3 days out know and slowly learning the difference between a sip and a drink--drinks hurt! i'm also having pain all in my belly, now that the on-q is gone--especially where the drain was placed. now it just a big ol hurtin hole. i guess it could be worse though--i don't have a fever or anything, and i chose lortab elixir over morphine so could be away at least a little while each day anyone else having all over belly pain and drain pain? i have to keep reminding myself that it's only been 3 days, so i'm not really worried yet, just tre uncomfortable...

Surgery was 2/9, so i'm 2 days out. The gas pain in my belly is pretty killer, but other than tha, i guess i'm okay. Tired, and ready to go home, but hubby brought the ipad over last night, so i thought i should check in. Pardon any typos, my eyes and fingers aren't matching up too well...i think it's the drigs but i'm sleeved--yay!

Congratulations--glad it's going well...I'm up tomorrow morning--so schooch down a bit and make room for me! :thumb:
