  6. So, this journey is challenging. There are the physical challenges and mental ones. But through it all, I am very happy. I feel like I can see myself changing for the better. Not just in the mirror but everyday in the way I think about like. I am able to push myself more, able to do more, able to see a brighter future. Thanks for all your support...I will probably complain to ya tomorrow. But, for now, I am very HAPPY!

    It's A Challenge, But I'm Happy!

Ok...once UNEXPECTED challenge is having to actually be accountable for what you are putting in your body. It used to be, eat it, feel guilty, then forget it. Now if I eat something bad...IT HURTS ME. Like not just a full feeling and throwing up, but feeling lethargic, gassy, acidy, and having non stop hiccups for like an hour. So, it makes you mind what you eat and pay for not doing right. There are some things that , even if I am having a super craving for them, I just stay away from (the worst is BREAD!!!).

    It's A Challenge, But I'm Happy!

The hardest was, and is, head hunger. Its not that hard to exercise because you can feel how good those endorphin's work with your mood. Its not hard to eat small amounts because if you eat more you throw it up. Its not THAT hard to not have soda because once you try it (and you will try it once) it hurts like the dickens. So, dealing with the fact that they took your tummy, not your taste buds, is the hardest. Sometimes seeing or smelling something, nostalgia, hormones, and all kinds of triggers can make you want something you just shouldn't or CAN NOT have. What I learned to do is to have a nibble (and I mean a really tiny nibble) of whatever I want (within reason) and let it sit in my mouth...and just sit there tasting it for a while. Of course, that only works with things like Cookies or kool-aid. If I am craving tacos, I usually just go for spicy cheese. I can go on and on but I'm just saying that you figure out strategies and do your best to work your sleeve.
  10. From a tight 24 to a 16... can't wait to see what the summer brings!

  11. I had my sleeve done on 12/26/11. I am sure I should have more Cal's but not really fitting them in. Thanks for all the feed back. I am not doing great this weekend because I have been so nauseated by food. Drinking more water ...more to come.
  12. Just my luck...as I set a real goal...my loss slows down to a mere 2 lbs in one week. I am reading and everyone seems to say drink more. The other posts say to eat more protein. The problem is, I can't possibly do both. Either I can drink or I can eat. Rarely do I do both within hours of the other. I can drink all day long. Then, when I eat, I am nauseated. Which makes me not want to eat...so I drink. I am trying to lose 25 more pounds before March 13th. I want to have lost over 75lbs by my doctors appointment. I exercise daily and drink lots of water. I average 300 calories daily, but don't always keep it down. If you guys have any ideas, I am all ears (eyes lol). Oh, and I am usually nauseated or having heart burn so I don't eat certain foods...mostly meat and protein bars.

    5 Days Post Op

FOOD NETWORK IS THE DEVIL! That being said...I only get "hungry" if I haven't eaten in a long time...mostly I am hungry in my head.
  14. Uhm...does stalling include losing really slow?? I need a jump start!

  15. The ap is for the android phones. It is great...but I forgot my password :P so now I must start over. I have been waiting for an ap and now VST has one in android market. Lovely!

  16. HOORAY FOR THE AP! Got mine!

  17. MommyofLDS- you have GOT to add a gallery. I am 5'6 and was told that I should target 141. Your a great visual inspiration! Size 4? Never even had a size 4 ANYTHING. *going to workout now
  18. Congrats! GO RAIDERS...WHOOOO!

  19. It's going to be like that for a while...its "full". Doesn't take much to get there at the point your at. I still feel that way when I eat that last bite. I am a month and 1/2 out about. Your swollen insides can't hold much and don't have much motility. It sounds normal to me but listen to your body. And always contact your surgeon if your concerned.
  20. Okay...I want to lose about 25 pounds in the next couple weeks...I think its doable...any tips??

  21. Just a thought- If you feel apprehensive about getting on the scale...then DON'T get on the dang scale. I mean, you don't HAVE to. Just continue to make healthy choices and live an active lifestyle. Enjoy your life.
  22. Welcome, Get ready for things to change...outwardly first...and stay that way. But, be ready to change your mind. If there I one thing I can tell you as advice it is this; my mind is still catching up to my body changing. Please remember that as you start consistently making healthy choices and living an active lifestyle, do not neglect to have some sort of spiritual grounding that helps you meditate on being the real and whole person you are. I pray and meditate a lot. It helps because we are so used to living life based on weight. It is hard to think "who am I, what do I like, what are my goals" and not answer based on that old overweight or obese mindset. At first I was like "My goal is to lose weight" and now I can say "My goal is to be healthy and enjoy my life" At first, I was skeptical about saying what I like because (example) riding roller coasters wasn't something I could actually "DO". But now...I am working on changing my mind about me. That's what this sleeve thing is. Sure, it is a second chance to lose weight and keep it off...but mostly its a chance to be yourself and know and love who that is without the harness of weight on your back... Anyways...WELCOME! :cornut:
