  1. WHY OH WHY AM I LOSING SO SLOWLY NOW???? 4 pounds in 10 days???? COME ON! GRRR

  2. Happy Wednesday! *sipping on a crystal light 'margarita'* YUM!

  3. Oh yea...those TV commercials...I had my sleeve done 12/26/11 and JUST NOW am I not hypersensitive to the massive amount of food ads, cooking shows, and related things on the TV. I stopped watching so much and just used the DVR so I can fast forward thru most of them.
  4. Best most honest tip I have to offer is this; sleep much. If you keep really busy during the day then make your bed time early as you can, you will do better (or at least it helped me). When you wake up, you will be so hungry that the liquid diet will taste awesome and fill you up.
  5. B- because you will celebrate all the more when it is OFFICIALLY there. For me, I always wait until I am sure (usually 2 days of scales) to change my little ticker. I want to be accurate with where I am and how far I have come. Congrats so far on your loss!!

    For Females Only

I have had an IUD since I had my son...never had a period. Before surgery, I lost about 15 pounds on the liquid diet. On the day of surgery BAM...period came. It came again after my first month sleeved...and I haven't seen it since. spooky little thing...but I don't miss it.

    Your Over Weight Friends?

They are monitoring me VERY CLOSELY! I guess to see if they want to be sleeved. I have an obese hater at my job...and she is very kind to me now but always looking at me out the corner of her eye. She is waiting for me to fail. We were doing a weight loss challenge last summer and she wouldn't let me b on her team ..But... I guess I am the winner now She is a big meanie but I try to get her to see that there is no reason to hate on me. Oh well, that wasn't even the question anymore lol. Sorry, guys!
  8. I had mine on 12/26/11 and have lost 62 pounds.
  9. I think that they do lessen over time, but will always happen when you gulp. At least for me that is how it has been. I used to get them even when I eat. It was my full. But now, only once in a while if I have drank too fast or eaten too fast.
  10. YUP! Anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months. Just remember that if your sleeve gets irritated it can become inflamed and be swollen again for a short while.

    Slowest Loser!

Slow loss beats NO loss. I mean, it goes in spurts. Sometimes you will lose slow or even stall...but then other times you will lose faster. I think you should get an old t shirt and try it on every 2 weeks. You will feel the change better than scale numbers or even measuring inches. BIGG HUGGGS...Keep your heads up!

    Question Of The Day Tuesday

Mine is...watching my chins consolidate! AND being able to play sports with my husband and son, instead of sitting around watching.
  13. 106 to go...Seems like a lot...BRING IT ON!

  14. I remember when I first started coming here. You know, the pre-sleeve days! There was so much good information and support. So, I want to contribute this to NEW or UNDECIDED sleevers...WARNINGS! Things we wish we had known before they happened. Mine? WARNING- DO NOT EAT A TWIX ...like I did a few weeks ago. As my surgeon has confirmed...chocolate (not the skinny cow kind...the REAL REAL kind) is an irritant. The sugar and caffeine aren't good for your sleeve. I was sick with a migraine, nausea, and stomach cramps for 2 days! What's your WARNING?
  15. I agree! NO GREASY FOODS. Ouch!

5 Weeks Out--Fatigue And "water Nausea"

Yes those shakes smell like arse I refuse them...but I do go for the bars or protein water with lemon.
  17. Child, BREATHE! Relax...it's okay. First...DON'T HATE YOU! God created you and he don't make no junk! Second... Think about before you were sleeved...if that's what you ate in one day, you'd be like "Dang, I hardly ate today!" It's okay. Nobody expects you to be perfectly strict with yourself to where your living like an obsessed maniac (and the repetitive negative self speak and inner monologue is our red flag). So now, just stop and breathe and remember; 1- your NOT on a diet- you are living a healthy lifestyle complete with healthy eating choices and a realistic and healthy self image. 2- you are making progress and growing. Anything that's not growing is dead. Your fully alive, which means sometimes your going to put things in your mouth you may regret later...and that's okay! You will continue to do your best to do #1. 3- The sleeve is only a tool. You also have exercise, prayer and meditation, supportive community (VST!), and mostly ENOUGH LOVE FOR YOUR LIFE THAT YOU DID SOMETHING SO THAT YOU COULD LIVE IT IN A QUALITY MANNER... So no more hating out of you, young lady!

5 Weeks Out--Fatigue And "water Nausea"

I actually had a follow up appointment yesterday and was told that the "water nausea" would come and go. The surgeon advised that I should just drink crystal light and unsweetened decaf tea.
  19. Hola, chica! Que paso?

  20. Wow...VST has changed a little...LOVE IT!
