bethp posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I need help!!! My husband says I should drink a protein shake before bed. So I was wondering if any of you guys had any input... Should I or should I not. I haven't been able to get the right amount of protein in, I finally found a shake that my sleeve likes for the moment so I want to get my protein in but I'm afraid to drink it before bed wouldn't that be like eating right before bed???????? -

I was thinking that too. I told him that drinking one was like eating before bed I want to lose weight LOL! He read some where that said that at night was a good time to drink your protein, maybe that's for body builders . Thanks for your reply -

I'm interest in 18 and 14 if you guys still have any left. Let me know please -
When I first decided I wanted WLS I thought the lapband was for me, and until I talked with my doctor (Hugh Houston) I was set on it. I am so GLAD I listened to him and got the sleeve. My highest recorded weight was 290. I'm sure I weighed more than that. I remember in October 2011 when my PCP told me I weighed 290 all I could do was cry. I had talked to my husband a couple of years before about lapband, because I have tried my whole life to lose weight and have had success only to gain it all back and then some. So what's I seen that number I knew something had to change, so I went to a seminar. The surgeon who's seminar I went to I found out was not covered under my insurance, he recommended HUGH HOUSTON I am very thankful he did. I had my sleeve done on February 27th 2012, I was walking the hallways a few hours after surgery. I went home on the 29th and then it hit I WAS STARVING!!!! My family was eating and I was starving, I thought why did I do this. Thank goodness this passed and now I'm loving my sleeve. I weighed 271 before my pre-op liquid diet (2 days, I did 3) and weighed 267 on the day of surgery, I went for my 1 week check up yesterday and I weighed 249! Sorry if this is all over the place I didn't want it to be to long. Thanks for reading my story so far...... I can't wait to lose more!!!!!!!

I haven't been banded yet, but I can say what has help me throught my 6 month diet is writing everything down that I eat and how many calories it is. I hold myself accountable for everything that goes in my mouth good or bad, I measure everything out before I eat it. Before I started doing that I wasn't losing very much, once I started writing it down I could tell a huge difference in the scale. Just an idea for you.

I'm in the beginning stages of trying to have lap band surgery. I was so excited when I found this forum. BUT now I'm a little worried I can't find any recent information from someone who has had the surgery in Memphis with Virginia Weaver which who I'm considering using. If any of you hve used her I would love to hear from you good or bad.

Anyone have surgery in Memphis Tn
bethp replied to bethp's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey Chrissy, Thanks for joining to help me!!! CONGRATS on the weight LOSS!!!I can't wait to say I've lost that much. I called yesterday and Dr. Weaver is not in the office she is still on leave. I heard some not so good stuff about the person that is in the office with her now. So I called Nashville and I think I'm going to try there. I'm hoping to be able to have my surgery before the end of the year. If I have to wait longer I will probably opt to use Dr.Woodman because he comes to Jackson which is only 45 minutes from me. I've been working with my PCP for over 6 months now, I've lost some then gained alot, almost 2 weeks ago I went to talk to her about trying something else and when they weighed me and she said 290 I lost it all I could do was cry. That's when I realized I needed more help, I don't think I can do it on my own without the surgery and be successful long term. Since that appointment I've lost 14 pounds. I go see my PCP tuesday and will know more about when I will have surgery. Thanks again and I will definately be takin you up on your help offer. -
Hey everyone I'm trying to find people that are in Tennessee that have used Virginia Weaver for their banding. I'm new to all of this I'm hoping to have surgery by the end of the year not sure if that will happen yet. I haven't had a lot of luck finding and recent people that have used her so I'm starting to get worried.
