So now I'm really confused. Is this a hiking thread, a crossfit thread or a chuck wagon thread?

Anybody ever check out the Jeff Galloway run/walk/run method? Last weekend at my half marathon I saw a bunch of people doing it. They had their timer set to go off to tell them when to walk and when to run. His website has very detailed directions on how long to walk and how long to run based on your fitness and goals. But I noticed the people doing it did not get tired and they made up the time lost walking by running faster at the end because they were not fatigued. Several elderly people run/walked right by me with no problem. I may have to try it. -
My Suggestion-Stop The Obsessing. Rules Are Meant To Be Broken

Was I one of the "contrarians?". Because I prefer to think of myself as a conscientious objector. -
I had a VO2 max test today, along with my BMR test. Very interesting data. I learned that my BMR is 2174.... 4% above average for a man my age and weight....good to know it hasn't been reduced down to nothing after so much weight loss and so long on a reduced calorie diet. My VO2 max was 46.3 which according to their report was very good. They were also able to give me very precise target heart rate zones for burning fat versus burning glycogen while working out. It's nice having the exact numbers rather than using the online guesstimations that are all over the Internet. I'd say for many people this info may not be very important or necessary, but if you want to train hard and maximize your fat burning while doing it this information can be very helpful. Both tests together cost $175 and I had it done at a sports training center here in town.

Before and After---9 mo out

Don't look now but you've got a figure. Thumbs up. -
I didn't try doing any squats last night, but I did work on my glutes with the ghetto GHR. They are definitely my weak point, both interns of doing squats and running. I also did some conventional deadlift and sumo deadlifts. The sumo hurt my knee. Conventional feels more natural to me. Sorry to hijack your thread fiddle. I'm just struggling with this same thing as you are.

Is it possible to loose 170lbs with the sleeve?
Butterthebean replied to kristy26's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is kind of a myth. Some people never experience hunger again, but for many it comes back in time that's why it's so important to take advantage of the "honeymoon" phase. -
I need help from the guys!

Compression clothing. Under armour shirts only do so much. M check out makemeheal.com. They have some interesting stuff for tummy tuck post ops. Heavy duty compression garments that will keep the lose parts contained. Eventually, your man boobs will go away...keeping working out. The rest may not without surgery, but typically docs want you to wait at least a year. Depends on the doc I guess. -
Edit...just heard she was routed off the course and is okay. My heart goes out to those that weren't so lucky.

My wife's niece was running. We are still waiting to hear if she's okay. Hoping for the best.

The day you know it all....is the day you start regaining all the weight you've lost. I read these posts by these vets that are 2 or 3 years out, they are still learning things all the time. Seems perfectly normal to still be a work in progress at the point you're at. We all have triggers, and there's no telling what it's going to be for each of us.

183 pounds lost in 11 months. Yes you can. Just a matter of putting in the effort. Your mileage will vary depending on many factors...one of the biggest is dedication. -
Yes I knew I shouldn't have but I was well stocked on anti depressants so I thought I'd give it a go. Now I'm wondering if eating a bullet will help me bust this stall.

I'm standing by to get flamed by some low BMI kiwi B as we speak. And if that doesn't happen, I know all I have to do is post in one of NGM's threads and I'll get flamed for sure. Every time I start feeling really good about life, I just post in her thread and she knocks me back down a couple of pegs.

Okay....so now I'm totally intrigued. What was this post that someone beat up on Fiddleman? I can't imagine anyone having nothing negative to say to Fiddleman ever. Me and Laura.....yeah....but not you. You're too nice.

PEOPLE WHO ONLY DID 3 day liquid pre op diet
Butterthebean replied to rollargirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yep...now we'll see who really read the whole thread. -
My problem is I cannot even get down that low to begin with. I cannot do a proper squat even with a broomstick. I tried squatting down and sitting back on my bench. That felt good, but in order to get up I had to rock forward. I read somewhere that I'm not supposed to do that. Tomorrow I'll try to make a vid and post it here so you can see what a train wreck it is.
