Man that is awe inspiring. You're barely 30 days post op. Your drive is going to carry you straight to success. Keep it up.

    100 mile challenge

Hey everyone. Had to break my run into 2 parts today. But ran a total of 8.2 miles today. Total after day 21.... 90.3 miles. Good job everybody. Proud of all of you.

    Recovery question redux

Sounds awesome fiddle. I'd go for it. Seriously....I wish I was there. By the third mile I think I just might take you. But I don't think the energy squares in between will do much good. I believe 3 minutes is just not enough time for food to pass from sleeve to intestine to blood stream. I would just fuel up before the workout and stay hydrated in between miles. Good luck bro.

Awesome. Two 10 mile days in a row? Be careful. You're in danger of becoming one of those fitness freaks.

I did my first 5K today!

Way to go Don. I salute your courage and determination. The fact that you covered the distance and enjoyed it is the only thing that matters. You have made great strides from your former self, and I have no doubt you will make many more. I hope you continue to sign up for more 5ks. The atmosphere is a great and the sense of accomplishment from finishing will be yours forever.

Are you serious? I sure hope my recovery goes half as well. Do you still have the drains? Ok...just looked at your gallery...apparently no drains. The difference between your current pic and the "before" pic is outstanding. You've got to be happy. I'm happy for you.

    100 mile challenge

Alright everyone. Y'all are all doing great. It's getting to be home stretch time for me it seems. Day 20.....ran 6 glorious miles on the trail this morning....putting me up to 82.1. I'm going to be a little sad when this month ends, but I have a major surgery to look forward too. As soon as I'm able, I'm going to start back up again. Already looking forward to that. I certainly hope all of y'all keep going an keep pushing the limits of what you thought was possible. I'm already over my typical monthly miles with 10 days to go and I feel terrific about it....my one toe not withstanding.

    100 mile challenge

Hey. Well I did my stress test yesterday at the cardiologists office. That's the first time I've ran on a treadmill in years. By the end he had that incline cranked all the way up but I was determined not to quit. I ran at 170 bpm heart rste for 3-4 minutes before he shut it down. No toe pain really. So this morning I did 4 miles doing overpass repeats getting ready for a 10K this weekend. So for me, that's day 19...76.1 miles. Those 3 days off killed a nice roll I was on but I'll make it up before the 30th.

Wow girl. Don't go crazy. That pneumonia is no joke. Glad you're back on your feet. There's plenty of time left. I'm going to hit the pavement at 530 in the morning for the first time since Friday. I cannot wait.

Took my cardiac stress test on the treadmill today and had no pain. So hopefully in the morning I can start adding miles again.

    100 mile challenge

Ya'll are all on pace to make the 100 miles. Way to go guys and gals. My toe is somewhat better today. It's gone from deep purple to plum. I'm hoping by Tuesday it will be a nice lavender. My running ability has gone from impossible to improbable. I need it to be slightly better before I get back on it. I'm hoping by Tuesday. Monday is my last work day...then I'll be on vacation for the rest of the month...right up until surgery on the 30th. I was hoping to spend that time trail running, soaking in the jacuzzi and napping....with the occasional piece of pecan pie thrown in for good measure. Yeah...that's my moderation y'all. But looks like I'll have to take a cardiac stress test next week to get clearance for my surgery. My resting HR is so low they're a little suspicious of it. Funny...I always hated going to the doctors office when I was obese because I felt suspect.....now that I'm in good shape, I'm still suspect.

    100 mile challenge

Good job everyone. I'm giving my aching toe a break for a couple of days...but I'll be back at it soon enough. I've got one last race next Saturday and I'm not going to miss it. I need at least 2 or 3 good training runs before then so hopefully by monday I can run a little. Keep at it folks. Everyone is making real progress.

Tummy tuck before and after photos

I thought I saw a picture one time where someone had put their drains in a fanny/waist pack while wearing it. Would that help?
