    October 100 Mile Challange!

    Walked another 1.5 miles this morning. I could tell that was right on the limit of my endurance at the moment. Total so far is 3.9 miles.
  3. I find it quite funny. I'm sure somewhere there's a pic with me under anesthesia and cut wide open in the background, while the nurses fist bump and blow kisses to the camera.

    Day 16 post op.....had my follow up visit with the doc today. Everything is going well. He took out the last drain thankfully. They are pleased with how little swelling I have...so am I. It's gonna be at least 5 more weeks before I can get back to exercise....and sitting around is no doubt the hardest part. But it's all so worth it. Finally I can see the results from all the hard work I've done. It's amazing the difference in my self image...looking in the mirror and actually seeing abdominal muscles for the first time in my life is priceless.

    Missus butter ran 6 miles tonight. Total of 51.1 miles.
  13. This is not a problem. It simply means that you do not have much inflammation. That's a good sign. The full feeling will not be very pronounced until you start solid foods. Till then don't push it. Remember, being "full" is no longer the goal. You never need to feel full again. The goal is simply to eat till you're "not hungry".
  14. I'm sure you've already been warned, but whatever you do....do not allow yourself to get constipated these next 2-3 weeks. You do not want that right now. Worst pain imaginable. Sneezing and coughing is not far behind it. The ragweed is kicking my butt right now and every sneeze is like a mule kick to the belly and I'm 15 days post op.

    Casein is a slow release Protein...opposite of whey which is a fast release protein. Casein is great for a bedtime shake as it feeds your muscles slowly all night.

    Doctor gave me the ok to do some easy walking now so I'm jumping in. Did 1.3 miles this morning, nice and slow. I'll be happy if I can get 20 miles by the end of the month. I just can't let y'all have all the fun.
