Check out this thread I made last year. It shows why chips are definitely a slider. http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/50630-how-many-chips-can-you-eat/page__hl__pringles#entry469100

I will happily let him come visit his aunt Hershey for the holidays. Do not come crying to me when he humps your favorite pair of shoes. -
NSV: I hiked a freaking cave, y'all!
Butterthebean replied to gamergirl's topic in Fitness & Exercise
That's what it's all about....living life, doing the things you've always wanted to do. Way better than any number on the stupid scale right? Nice job. Proud of you for finding your sunshine. -
If you had stuck with cake hiking, you'd still have your fitbit.

Took it easy today because I'm swollen up quite a bit today. Walked 1.4 miles for a total of 10.7 so far. Going for 20 by months end.

Is it possible to get All the protein with out supplements?
Butterthebean replied to Albaleon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cottage cheese is a great soft food Protein source. As for later on, I prefer fish to beef because it's easier for me to eat more of....poultry is second but still not as easy as fish. Cheese is also easy for me to get down. I think I probably eat more protein than most folks here....close to 150 grams a day. My total daily calories ranges between 1800-2000. I eat quite a bit but I eat clean healthy foods mostly. I also exercise alot which I why I eat so much. I do still drink a Protein shake from time to time but only because I like them and they are convenient....not because I need to. Edit.....also, mustard egg salad is another great soft food protein source. -
3 years ago today I had the VSG...
Butterthebean replied to M2G's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Great job and happy anniversary. I'm almost half way to 3 years and I feel like I've been at this forever. Can't imagine doubling that. You're a true veteran. I agree whole heartedly with all the bullets you listed. I'm curious about one thing though....your husband lost 70 pounds and is maintaining it (which is great news).....what weight did he end up at? I have heard of a few others talk about setting more modest goals and finding quite a bit of success and peace of mind in maintaining those goals. I think so many people get caught up in unrealistic goals that can never be reached or sustained....particularly because they are so determined to fit into the ridiculous BMI categories. I cannot imagine being in better shape than I'm in right now....and yet I'm 30 pounds away from the "normal" category on the BMI chart. If I tried to reach it I'd to mad. -

I already offered that to her. I can talk without my lips moving, but she doesn't want to play her part.

Why you cant eat just one chip. Great read
Butterthebean replied to gamergirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I read the book "End Of Overeating"....it's very similar. It talks not only about the combination of sugar, fat and salt in processed foods....but how the food and restaurant industry actually have researched what the perfect ratio of these 3 ingredients could be to make us eat more. They have figured out the perfect ratio and they spend a great deal of effort designing new foods and restaurant menus around this ratio. Check the ingredients of any really tasty food and you'll find these 3 things in high abundance. -
What is your email address? I don't have a million dollars but I can take some naughty pictures if you like. I read Big Country's book.

Tummy tuck today!
Butterthebean replied to Butterthebean's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Well that's bad news cause I was 3 weeks post op yesterday and I was just thinking the pain from the lipo was finally going away. Kim, question for you and Jane....2 really. Firstly, I've been using a tape measure everyday to gauge my abdominal swelling. It's not bad at all right now, but I'm surprised that my overall measurement is almost the same as before my TT. Knowing what they took off, and seeing my before and after pics....I'm really surprised at this. Have you 2 taken such measurements? What were the results? Jane I realize it may be too early for you. In spite of the lack of difference....clothes do fit completely different now. Second question is....how many of your original VSG scars do you still have? I can only find one. The rest I believe we're cut out. Of course, I have a certain amount of hair that camouflages them....I doubt y'all have that issue. -

Butterthebean replied to LeahJade's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Out of curiosity what kind of weight loss products would you use after VSG? -
I would but my snorkel might scare the children.

Can't you have both? -
I did some pie snorkeling last weekend....it's similar. My goggles are still sticky.

I dunno. I had mine done in Texas so I got the "extra bowl of chili" option and they threw in the "unlimited donuts" feature for free..... unfortunately. -

The standard sleeve has a 1 meatball limit. You have to upgrade to the multiple meatball deluxe version. -
random musings from a really bored woman...lol
Butterthebean replied to CowgirlJane's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I had the lipo on my flanks and I can say it was definitely the most painful part. Not excruciating, but the pain has lingered almost 3 weeks. It's only just now fading. -
