  1. Yes you can certainly eat anything you want. And yes you can continue to be a slave to food. You can also regain all of your lost weight later on. Or you may keep it off. Which will it be? Do you have any idea what it's going to be like 1 year, 2 years, 5 years down the line? This whole "feeling guilty" thing is ridiculous. No one is trying to make anyone feel guilty. No one is trying to shame anyone for eating junk food. But those folks who have been at this a while know that as time goes by appetites change....food capacity changes....metabolism changes....weight loss stops....the things that are working for you now may not work later on. Why not try to beat that need for unhealthy food early on while it's easier? Why does anyone need pizza or hamburgers to feel normal?

Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?

Yeah....I've heard that lower body lift makes things alot more difficult. Don't hurt yourself. Eventually things will heal.

    What did you tell people?!?!?

Your body doesn't break down carbs? What does it do with them? **** them out?

Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?

I'm 4 weeks post TT surgery in a couple days. So that means I'm 4 weeks away from my return to running. Shooting for a 5k December 22. It's a santa trot where everyone dresses up like santa. Should be a hoot.

    Any food addicts here?

Agreed Cheri. That's why I always say it's important to take advantage of that honeymoon period while you can. And make good eating habits part of your life sooner rather than later. I see people all the time saying I eat this and that crap food and I'm losing just fine. Good luck. For many people, you can eat cupcakes 3 meals a day and still lose in the honeymoon period. But I'm here to tell you for most people the day comes when your appetite comes screaming back, your eating capacity doubles, your weight loss screeches to a halt because your metabolism equals out with your intake.....and it all seems to happen at once....and seemingly overnight. That will not be the time to start figuring out good eating practices. You don't want to have to go on a diet at that point.

    October 100 Mile Challange!

Ok Gamergirl. You're right. I'll make it clear it's not about the 100 miles. It's about pushing out of ones comfort zone. It's about doing just a little bit more an before. And.....I'll try to throw in at least one beach pic by Thanksgiving if you and Laura are still in it.

    October 100 Mile Challange!

You people are killing me. I wish we could keep it together, but since I'm shooting for 50 next month anyway, if y'all wanna split it up I'll start the 50 miler. Honestly....I do think we need to split off the WOD crossfit stuff. I do enjoy reading about those WODs, but they need their own thread.

DFW TX Surgeon selection? (Dallas / Ft. Worth)

You didn't do anything wrong. Some people are just grumpy because they can't eat donuts for Breakfast anymore. Good luck on your surgery.

How Many Chips Can You Eat?

I remember being kinda surprised when my NUT told me that chips were off limits forever. She called them a slider food, but not in the traditional ice cream sense. But rather because they crunch up so small in your sleeve and have so many calories and no nutritional value, something we all know. But I have way too much time on my hands so I decided to do some experiments just to see how small they would crunch up. Keep in mind my big blender died suddenly last night from unnatural causes so I had to use my wife's small pulse blender. I'm betting the big blender would have chomped these chips up even finer. First victim....11.5 ounce bag of everybody's favorite "macho man" nacho cheese Doritos. 1680 total calories, 84g fat, 192g carbs. From this... To this.... That's about 2.5 cups of chips. Not a lot. I doubt I could hold that much volume right now but I could eat it over the course of a day or 2. Certainly before my sleeve I could eat 2.5 cups of food no problem.

    Cottage cheese... yuck!

I add a few sliced strawberries and blue berries. For added crunch and to keep things flowing smoothly I mix in a little fiber one cereal.

random musings from a really bored woman...lol

Love the fanny pack. They come in handy. I even slept with mine for 2 weeks or so. Good luck traveling and enjoy those 1st class seats. I'm sure you'll be glad to get back home.
  17. I'm also confused as to why anyone is afraid of eating fats. Healthy fats are good for you. I eat 40% fat, 40% Protein and 20% carbs. I've eaten that since the beginning and as my calories have gone up the total grams of each has gone up, but my ratios have stayed the same. My weight loss has been great and these ratios fuel my long workouts perfectly.
  18. How long ago was your TT? I just had mine 23 days ago. Since then I've not eaten very well. It's killing me not to be able to exercise, and for me the 2 go hand in hand. It's like if I exercise I won't ruin it by eating badly. But since I can't exercise for a while....well you know. Plus I can see my abs, so it's like I feel like that 1 this or that won't hurt me. But as you say, those, things add up and that's what got me obese in the first place. Thanks for the tip. What's your game plan for turning things around?

Breast lift with implants today 10/22/13

Congrats Sassygirl. I bet you're glad to be over and done with the surgeries. You'll heal up quickly.....you've already been through this so you know what's involved. This will certainly be easier than the TT. Best of luck and I'm glad you're happy with the results.
