I got another mile this morning between rain storms so I'm up to 21.2. Missus Butter ran a whopper this morning... 12.5. For a total of 88.3 for the month.

Careful....did having VSG cure you of your eating disorders or other personality issues? No. Plastics does not cure the head. But you may feel better about your physical appearance. -

Tummy tuck today!

Fiddle, from what you've said in the past you do not have that much skin. Why don't you post a pic for us to see. As I told alliekat, there is such a thing as a mini tummy tuck which is cheaper and less invasive...meaning recovery would be easier. -

The November challenge is up and it is slightly altered to be more inclusive. Feel free to give any feedback or make further suggestions if you have them. There are no concrete rules.....I'm all for being flexible as long as we stick to the spirit of the challenge. Good luck in November everyone. I hope you all continue to participate and we attract even more folks to the movement. It feels good to push oneself just a little beyond what seems doable. Here's a link to the November thread. http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/98407-november-fitness-challenge/

Regrets: After 3+ years
Butterthebean replied to pjb84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love these threads because it seems like they're asking if anyone succeeded and wished they hadn't. If anyone answers yes to this thread...specifically the question asked about wishing they could eat more....then it just means their food addiction is mighty powerful and they haven't done any work to deal with it. Those people usually will not out themselves. -
Happy Birthday to me!

Fiddle....as someone who has had some 3 hour runs, I will say yes, it is hard on the body....but not too hard. Not when you're in shape. The only concern is you haven't built up to that kind of mileage. The longest you've run lately is 6.2 miles (10k), now you're talking a jump up to 12-15 mile range. That's a big jump. Not to say you can't do it, but give yourself the possibility of making it home if you run out of gas. You'll certainly sleep well tonight afterward. And I seriously doubt it will detract from your crossfit conditioning in anyway, other than leaving you fatigued. The only thing that is going to detract from our crossfit conditioning is not doing crossfit for a long period of time. But once you start back, I have no doubt that your pre-vacation fitness level will come right back. It's just like a runner who takes time off from running. A week will make very little difference. A month might, but it will come back very quickly.

Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?
Butterthebean replied to *Dean*'s topic in Fitness & Exercise
That's terrific. Congrats. -
1.9 for me today. Total is 20.2. Made my goal with 5 days to spare. We will keep next month open to all. But I just want to say the point originally was to set a goal and reach for it. Whatever it is, as long as it's measurable, and it's a challenge. I'm proud of all if y'all that are participating and I hope that we keep it going and keep growing. I'll work on a new November thread here in the next couple of days.

You're right I don't understand. Because your very first sentence was asking if it was so bad if you eat a cookie or chips. Sounded to me like you were asking for something. Tell me then what is the point of this thread other than to make people feel less guilty about eating "off plan". Because my point is why feel guilty in the first place and why eat off plan when you're still trying to lose? -
