Two weeks from Plastics - progress so far
Butterthebean replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
That's great Jane. You seem to be doing well. Those compression garments seem like cruel and unusual punishment. They kinda make it tough to enjoy your new body. But they do keep the swelling at bay...plus hold things together so they can heal. How much longer on that last drain? Probably not much longer I bet. Well done. -

Missus butter ran 5 miles tonight. Her total is 93.3. She swears she's going to hit 100 by months end. She's cutting it close but I believe she can do it.

This is a really old post you've resurrected. I'm 18 months post op now and I can eat a normal amount. You know....what a normal person would eat at a normal meal. What I can't do is go apeshit and stuff myself with 3 plates of food. Now I can get down a surprising number of candy bars and donuts unfortunately. But if I eat the right things, I can only eat a normal plate of food. I eat 2000 calories a day and maintain my weight just fine.

this may start a riot.

I love how you call others "holier than thou" as you accuse them of being pissy, negative, mean, judgmental, snide and rude. Perhaps you should look up the definition of that phrase. -
Calories from water enhancement powders / liquids
Butterthebean replied to Fiddleman's topic in Food and Nutrition
Well I'm a pretty good tracker, but I don't track those. It's my way of not letting the tracking get too OCD. -

Fiddle......didn't you say this just yesterday? -

Amen. I have eluded to this many times in the past, and sometimes forget it myself when I shouldn't. Lots of posters here are going through food withdrawal, and they are hardly at their best. I know I wasn't during that time. Not being able to hit that drug of choice to numb our pains takes some getting used to. -
3.2 miles this morning for a total of 29.5. Trying to close out the month strong.

Couldn't help myself. Cabin fever setting in. I took a second walk this evening...another 2 miles. Puts me up to 26.3 for the october.
-
Congrats. That's great progress. I love running. If you want to run more...I highly recommend the C25K app. It's a very good app too increase your distance.

Wow....alot of new faces this month. That's great. Everybody welcome. Glad to see so many of you wanting to reach for new heights.

MFP calories: Aim for goal or net?
Butterthebean replied to outwithbenjiboi's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I love MFP and I feel it has many benefits. Being able to accurately track my calories and macros on my opine at any time of day or night is very convenient. Not to mention there is a great community aspect to it...I get lots of support from my MFP friends. I would not want to give that up just because a silly app sent me a message about starvation mode. I believe I'm strong enough to ignore such a message and move on with my life....rather than throwing out the baby with the bath Water. -

Someone once told me...."only take advice from someone who is where you want to be." So what cowgirljane said is true....I see so many newly sleeved and even presleeved people here telling folks how to do things...and how it's going to go for them forever. Really? How do they know? The surgeons all have many different opinions on what works and what doesn't work. The truth is, there is more than one way to skin a cat. The best way is the way that works....and that you can stick with forever. And btw....it's not the Protein bars and shakes that bind you up...it's the lack of Fiber. When you're newly sleeved it's very difficult to get in enough fiber. Most don't because they're too busy getting in their protein and simply don't have the room for much else. -

Good luck. Don't do too much too soon. You're still wearing the binder right?

Sorry you're having a flare up. Hang in there. Do what you can and make it up next month.
-
I was going to ask if you got in a long run. Nice job. Can't wait to get back to it myself.
