2 miles this morning. 5 total so far. Now I get to put on a suit and go to a wedding for people I don't even know. Wedding reception food is always so healthy......NOT. Worst part is it's one of those "no booze" kinda weddings. Seriously, how do people get married without booze? I don't even drink but a wedding makes me wanna start. Have a great weekend everybody.

I dunno....sounds kinda Cajun to me.

Pretty sure I f***ed up the sleeve. No leak, but I might as well have never gotten it.

That's a great attitude. Surely you won't be reaching out for help and expecting any.....oh wait. http://www.verticals...lking-and-pain/ -
Shreveport? I'm going to a wedding there tomorrow. My SIL and her husband live in bossier city.

I didn't read your whole post but I'm pretty sure you shouldn't have posted anything if you weren't going to read all the information previously posted. -
di·et1 ˈdī-it/ noun 1. the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats. "a vegetarian diet" synonyms: selection of food, food, foodstuffs; More a regular occupation or series of activities in which one participates. "a healthy diet of classical music" Seems like alot of us obese and former obese people get really caught up on the word diet....and then reject anything associated with it. That can be detrimental. Just because we've all failed at "diets" doesn't mean that word means only one thing.

Maybe get rid of your chair and replace it with a Swiss ball or something. I wish I could bike commute as well. 50 miles is just a bit too far though.

If a man speaks his mind and no women are there to hear it.....is he still wrong? Wait....what was the original question?

Always cold!

My first winter after being sleeved I froze to death. If this is your first post sleeve winter....get ready for a long frosty one. Coming up on my second winter and I'm hoping I've acclimated somewhat. Since it's still 80 here....too early to tell. -
Saltines go great with sprite.....excellent cure for a hangover.

Anyone From Buffalo, Ny Out There?

Not a legitimate problem. The vast vast majority of problems involve not losing enough weight. Losing too much weight is usually countered easily enough by eating more calorie dense foods. But it's a rare problem. Don't sabotage yourself right off the bat by worrying about this.....worry about getting to goal. End your love affair with food. It doesn't love you back anyway. -
Men vs Women - sleeve capacity

Bloody hell those links are eerily similar. I'm sensing a patter here. OP.....why do you want to get sleeved in the first place? Is it to lose weight, get healthy, live longer? All of those? What has prevented you from obtaining those goals? I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess......food. It's the same for all of us. We all overeat. That's how we got here. You have to decide which you wanna give up....the food or the excess weight. Yes you will be able to eat again. If you feel deprived, it's not going to be a physical issue. Deprivation is a mental issue. If you feel deprived, if you miss eating large quantities of food, you need to realize that kind of eating is a coping mechanism for some other problem and needs to be dealt with in a healthy manner. And now that the lecture is over....I'm 18 months post op and I eat 2000 calories a day. I also exercise an hour a day and I eat clean and healthy 95% of the time. I don't miss pizza, hamburgers or gorging on endless buffets. Frankly I feel free of the bonds of overeating. It's liberating. -
What a great thread Laura. Yes, this place is a hot bed of enabling. All the "I ate a snickers bar one week post op and I don't feel bad about it....." Yeah, those people see that as a victory over food guilt, but they fail to see it reads like a go ahead to eat snickers bars to all the people who aren't sure what they should or can eat. Then they follow it up with...."I'm still losing weight just fine....." Yes you are, for now. You may make it all the way to goal and maintain goal forever like that, but the odds are against you. The majority of people either don't make it to goal or can't maintain it unless they have some control over what they're eating. That's the message we really need to be sending out....not "I eat whatever I wanna eat." Didn't we all eat whatever we wanted to eat before surgery? It clearly didn't work for us then. Not one of us. And, as we've discussed before, you can't say one word about it or you get called a bully and accused of being non supportive. Is this a support forum? Yes it is. Have you ever been to a support group? If you walk into an AA meeting and announce that you drank a case of beer and you don't feel guilty about it, you're likely to catch hell. Patting people on the back and telling them that their life threatening behavior is ok is not support. It is enabling. Support is trying to help people save their own life. And make no mistake, obesity is as deadly as anything we're likely to face. Yes I make mistakes. I'm not perfect. Far from it. I've eaten candy, pie and donuts....all in the last month. But I don't say "I eat anything I want" because if I truly did I'd be living on candy, pie and donuts. I have to exercise some self control. And unfortunately the sleeve is no substitute for self control. It will not control your portions adequately to allow you to eat whatever your heart desires. Sorry if I ventured off topic a little.

Morning everyone. Got my first 3 miles in already this morning. And no Halloween candy for me last night. It's gonna be a good month.

Missus butter ran 9.5 to get a total of 102.8. She has a half marathon in 2 weeks and she's ready.

You rock. Who would have thought you'd find your inner fitness freak so quickly? Proud of you grasshopper.

I've bought 10 ties in the last week. I had to get rid of all my old ties because they were extra long....for a fat neck. Too long for me now. Considering I wear a tie every 2 years or so, buying 10 may have been overkill.

I did 3 today and 4.1 yesterday for a total of 36.6 for the month. Not bad since I'm a month post op from my TT. So proud of all of you guys and gals for accomplishing the ultimate goal this month....which was just to push yourself. Let's keep it going in November. Thanks to everyone who participated. You are all helping to paint the picture that this change we all have made is about health, not just weight loss. Weight loss is just a pleasant side effect.
