so can you stand up straight yet?
Butterthebean replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I've been wanting to eat everything in sight. My appetite is normal but the anxiety of sitting on my ass, not getting to exercise and being bored to tears has me wanting to shop for clothes I don't need or eat pie. And I can't afford to keep shopping. I'm winning the pie battle for now. Trying to keep busy but it isn't easy. Everyone I know is busy working. -
Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?
Butterthebean replied to *Dean*'s topic in Fitness & Exercise
It's intermittent fasting. 5 days you eat normally and 2 days you restrict calories to 500 or so. There is a private group here you can check out. I think there's a link in my groups on my profile. If not you can go to groups. On the main site and search for it. -
Great question. The thing is....some of those people will never accept that they've hit bottom and need to surrender themselves to a plan that has been proven to work. Some may really not need to....and some really should. They ended up at WLS before that happened thinking it would prevent them from hitting bottom. Perhaps that's their path. It wasn't mine, I hit bottom like you and had to give myself over to something stronger that was proven to work. Clearly I couldn't do it on my own. But asking those who are not ready to do so must feel very similar to asking an atheist to believe in god. It's just not going to happen. So my point is we all can be of help to each other, but a big factor to keep in mind has to be that we each have our own way, and it's not going to be everyone else's way.... As hard as that is for me to accept.

I'm 5 weeks and 1 day and I can stand up "straight" just within the last 2 weeks. But what I still cannot do is throw my shoulders back and puff my chest out. Not quite doing that yet. But only I can tell. I've been walking easily everyday. Up to 3 miles most days. In truth I think it's helped me feel better, although it's no where near enough. It's something to occupy me and give me some active routine. I've also been clothes shopping.....alot! -
Update picture cant believe it

Glad to hear it. I'm 5 weeks post TT and feeling great. I'm also 6'2" so I was curious. Seems like our weight is almost the same. I feel like I have no more to lose even though I'm a long way from "normal" BMI weight. I'm ok right here though. Healthy and happy. -
It's been the toughest thing for me. Especially chocolate. The big 3 for me were chips, sodas and chocolate. Well chips and sodas are kicked no problem. Chocolate is still killing me. I often wonder if it's because I drink chocolate Protein shakes.....like that continued enjoyment of chocolate keeps the desire alive.

You did great. That's an excellent transformation. Did you finally completely recover from your panni? I know you had some difficulties. How tall are you? -

I don't have any inlaws I can't wait to see. In fact, I can't wait till the holidays are over so I don't have to see them for another year. -

If you're drinking your water, getting in your protein and not eating a bunch of junk, I wouldn't worry too much about the calories. But usually the average goal for a man is 600-800 initially. -

Sounds perfect actually. The fact that you're able to drink with no problem means your recovery will likely go very well. Take advantage of that fact. Good luck. -
Hey I made a suggestion did I not? Complete with visual aids. Ok I'll stop posting in the powder room now.

All I said was I was going to give BigCountryAbs your home address. If anything should happen to him....it's Laura...
