Dying To Be Thin...
Butterthebean replied to LifeLiver's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow, that's terrible. Glad you're doing so well now. Yes your stall is normal and it will pass on it's own. About the hunger, mine didn't go away either but it is more manageable. Not eating breads and other starches helps control my hunger.....focusing on the Proteins. Getting in ample amounts of Water. I go way over 100 oz per day. A few bites of starches or sweets increases my hunger for days. I also battle head hunger, which I define as anytime I want to eat food, yet I'm physically not really hungry. I often don't know the difference in the moment. Simple self evaluation though tells me that I just ate therefore cannot really be hungry, so why do I want that pecan pie? Stress, loneliness, fatigue, discomfort....all those feelings drive me straight to the kitchen. Good luck to you. Hope your recovery continues to go well and the war zone heals with time. -
Hello. My Name Is Revs And I'm A Carboholic And Hungry!
Butterthebean replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
For me, it was never a question of how much or how often I ate....it was WHAT I ate. All calories are not created equal, especially the high GI foods. The starches, sweets, most fruits....they do nothing for me to alleviate hunger or fuel my body. They do increase hunger and cravings for me because I was insulin resistant. Eliminating those helps control my hunger and aid weight loss. Even now, one bite of something sweet and I'm fighting the craving to get more more more for several days. -
Sounds like you need to channel that energy into something else.... Something that occupies and engages you. For me it was always exercise but for you it could be anything. What are some things you like/want/need to do? Go do them. This is the part where you begin living a life not centered around food. It's a weird transition but one you will be grateful for soon.

Changing Focus: Heading Towards Freedom
Butterthebean replied to GalileeGal's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That sounds like fun. I think you're right.....many of us planned most things around food. Vacations, holidays, family get togethers....they always seem to be good centered. Even at work, every event has to be centered around a sit down meal. Like they're bribing us with food. I hate it. But I used to live for it. Good for you for changing your mindset and your focus on life. -

Huge Huge Huge Nsv For Me! I Am So Excited!
Butterthebean replied to LipstickLady's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Actually I kinda do. If it's in May that's either Virginia or Portland. I'm already planning to move to Oregon someday so it would not be hard to motivate me to show up. -
Well this isn't what you asked.....but after my TT surgery I couldn't shower for 12 days. I went through alot of wet wipes and thank goodness for sponge baths....and a willing wife.

Q: How much weight have you lost? A: How much have you gained? -
Got it. Well I remember you saying this morning you were feeling much better....so I thought you had flared again since then.
-
Flaring? Oh no. Sorry to hear that. Did you make it to RI?
-
Nice job. That's how it starts. Next thing you know you'll be doing half marathons. I'm up to 29.8 miles for the month. 10 more days till I get full release to run again.

There you go again thinking you know something about the sleeve. You may be an elite level bandster but you know nothing about the sleeve. Quit acting like you do unless you're gonna post some more YouTube videos.
-
Wait.....so 8 years a bandster and you're still not at goal? No wonder you're cranky.
-
I like to keep my options open.
-
It completely depends on who's doing the stinging. .....and I say that humbly as an elite level stingee.
-
Ha.....are you speaking from experience?

Almonds, avocados, olives and whole eggs. -
We need to recruit a webs designer to work on that immediately.

You're not just wise, you're an "elite level bandster."
