Frankly, there was a time when I would have bought 4 meals a day from Chick FIL A. But I finally couldn't stand their discriminatory donations anymore. I will not enable those fuckeds.

Call me <evil> but...

Because we like to look at sexy bodies.....but it doesn't mean we want to be with them. We want to be with a woman who takes charge......while letting us think we're in charge. -

I keep thinking Father Time is going to get my FIL. Somehow they skipped over him during the Spanish Inquisition, and he lived through the first round of bubonic plague. He's too mean and self righteous to go that easily. I think he's waiting for rapture. That being said, yeah...just send your MIL out in front of my wife while she's driving to work. She rarely looks where she's going. She drives by sound.....just avoiding the other car's horns. Her ability to drive and text is epic. -
As far as the stretching, there is very little "scientific" evidence. But imagine stretching an unaltered stomach. It takes decades of over stuffing to stretch it. Now imagine that they removed the most elastic part and you're left with the 15% that's toughest to stretch....how long is that going to take to stretch? It's going to take a long time of consistent over eating. I'm talking eating to pain and discomfort. Early on, 1 bite too many can cause discomfort but 1 bite does not stretch a stomach. I'm talking about 3 extra pieces of pizza after you're full. That's how you stretch a stomach. If you're not abusing your sleeve in such a manner, you're not stretching it. Capacity to eat does increase over time as we adapt and heal, but that doesn't mean our intake has to increase with it. That's why I like to weigh and measure my food. Eating to fullness is what got me in this mess in the first place. I don't trust it. Now my goal is to never be full....but rather to be not hungry.

What's Your Food Philosophy: Abstain Forever Or Eat In Moderation?
Butterthebean replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love honeymooners. That Ralph Kramden kills me. But seriously, is this the vet forum? If not then all should answer...as the question was "what is your food philosophy" not "what is your food philosophy veterans". Ok....so I have a different approach that really worked for me and I'd like to share. Yes this approach evolved over time but it made sense to me and I don't think it gets much voice around here. I abstained during my weight loss. I had to, I have too many trigger foods and can be lead down that bingeful path too easily. But once I got to goal, I slowly lessened the reigns a bit to allow a few treats here and there. And not all of those were pure crap foods. I now enjoy sweet potato fries a couple times a month (as an example)....one of my all time favorites. But I stayed away from them during my weight loss. Now when I want something, I will try to add it into my diet. If it crashes my nutritional goals or causes me cravings that I can't control, I scratch it off the list and don't try it again. My point is you can be strict, without thinking it has to be forever. Letting go of that "all or nothing forever" mentality is liberating. -
Is it that time of year? I haven't come across any of those little enablers yet. The peanut butter patties are like my kryptonite.

All of us guys find them cute and can't help but look every now and then. But the women we love are the ones comfortable enough in their own skin to wear flip flops and a football jersey to the game. Ok....back to inlaws....they suck. -

Two weeks from Plastics - progress so far
Butterthebean replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I feel less than fully flexible, but I can't tell how much of that is from sitting on my ass for 2 months. I've run easily a few times already. Lots of walking. And today I swam laps. No pain or discomfort. I still haven't wanted to lift any heavy weights or do any direct ab work. I need to ease myself into that. I really don't know if that would hurt and I'm not anxious to find out. -
Seriously? I'm so jealous. My holidays are about biting my tongue so as to not call someone an assholed.

I'm Having A Minor Melt-Down
Butterthebean replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh yes I read it. I'm still giving my old clothes away. I just took a giant box to my BIL who is 1 size bigger than me. He's thrilled, he just got a whole new wardrobe only worn once. -

I honestly never even look at the scar. It's below my underwear line.....it doesn't bother me whatsoever. The surgeon said it looks amazing for 2 months. -
Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?
Butterthebean replied to *Dean*'s topic in Fitness & Exercise
Trust me....running outside is a little more difficult, but way more rewarding. If you're running on a treadmill already, I don't think you're likely fail. Take that first step, you will never look back. -

Jane....you're half way to the promised land. I got my release today. It feels like a weight has been lifted. Too bad I now have the cardio of stale bread. But it will come back soon enough. Hang tough. You're gonna be through this in no time. -
Squirrels are rats with fluffy tails. True story.

Tummy tuck today!
Butterthebean replied to Butterthebean's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Had my almost 8 week follow up today. Got my full release to go back to exercise. Everything is healed up wonderfully. Almost no swelling anymore unless I overdo it. The surgeon was very thrilled with the progress. So am I. This surgery was no picnic....way more challenging than VSG, but well worth it. -
Damn. Poor guy. I hope he has some success with the appeal. Next time he needs to eat a snickers bar before they draw blood.

That stretch would certainly help if the pain is caused by tightness in the quadratus lumborum, which most definitely can refer pain to the hip as well. There is always more than one possibility.
