Embarassing Question- When Do I Go #2 Again?!
Butterthebean replied to jennyblue111's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's one of those side effects the doctors rarely tell you about. -
I was drinking 80-90 oz of water a day, and that wasn't enough. I work outside in the heat. My urine was dark, I was cramping every night, my skin was dry and I was always thirsty. I upped it to 140-150 oz and I've felt so much better since then. But keep in mind I'm a big guy and I was about 10 weeks out when I upped everything. You may not be able to hold that much water anytime soon, or maybe never. I try to drink 8-10 oz an hour from the time I get up till I go to bed. That way I'm never bloated or water logged.

Yeah, the video with the apple sauce in the funnel...that was a good video. I was also dying of thirst everytime I ate. I could barely stand to wait 30 minutes. Then I upped my Water intake because I didn't think I was drinking enough water. After that I never had a problem separating my eating and drinking again.

I think you just get accustomed to seeing someone's proportions. Then everything shrinks except the head.

If anyone starts getting too small, just start eating higher calorie food. There are plenty of foods that are relatively healthy but high in calories. Think olives, nuts and guacamole.

You ain't kidding they lie. I use MapMyRide and it told me I burned 1590 calories on a 90 minute bike ride. How I wish it were true.

Carbonated Beverage 10 Weeks Out

Absolutely correct. And it's remarkably vague about the carbonated beverages. -
Carbonated Beverage 10 Weeks Out

Yeah, that diet coke thread was rather hot. If your doctor or NUT didn't already answer this question in detail for you, you should call them and ask. If you trust their expertise, and you should if you let them operate on you, then follow their plan, whatever it is. -

Anyone Have A Relatively Easy Recovery Story?
Butterthebean replied to Birdy18's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had 2 wisdom teeth pulled last year...that was a little bit worse than this. I've had hangovers that were comparable. Of course, I haven't always lived right. -

0 Warning Points Suddenly Appeared Under My Profile Picture
Butterthebean replied to vinnyfan's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
This has got to be the nicest, most peaceful, most politically correct forum I've ever been on. I haven't seen too many people step out of line. Maybe my bar is just set lower (or higher) than everyone else's. -

I got it too. I clicked it and it said I have no warnings to display. I guess if I had some warnings I'd be worried. -
Is Keeping The Secret Possible?

Holy cow that post you quoted was from 2 months ago. I'm over it. -
They are not the best protein so don't let them be your only source of protein. Still they are better than nothing. I drank them straight. Kinda like grape flavored cough syrup. Much better diluted in water...about 8 oz of water is enough.

Stall Or Starvation?
Butterthebean replied to justmeandmysleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What did your NUT say about your carbs? That seems like a lot. -
The thin cut turkey bacon is not bad at all. 30 calories for 2 slices. Actually has more Protein than fat. I've eaten it a few times. And I love using lettuce instead of bread. I have made fajita wraps for lunch twice in the last week.

Celery and string cheese Dried plaintains (taste like potato chips) Boiled egg (great for eating on the go) Go to nuts.com. They sell every kind of dried fruit imaginable. And they have a dried vegetable mix that is a fun and healthy snack.

Alcohol And Non Compliant Husband
Butterthebean replied to Healthy Mama's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
People have to want to change. Your husband is clearly not there yet. Perhaps once he sees your great results before his own eyes he will be more motivated. Your frustration, while understandable, will not move him to help himself. Meanwhile do what you have to for yourself and your son. Put your foot down about his health. Next time you see fried chicken in the house throw it in the garbage and make something healthy. My coworkers are always bringing donuts, pizza or kolaches and leaving them out for everyone to eat, and severely tempting me. I have thrown more than one box of donuts in the dumpster. As I lose, others around me are starting to get inspired to do the same, but I don't try to convince anyone to do it....they have to really want it. Hang in there. This is a tough situation. -
Did someone say you would die? I missed that.

Your story is so inspiring. I bet your leg muscles are growing from all the extra work. Gaining that muscle would account for a stall. -
