The Stuff They Don't Tell You
Butterthebean replied to Parker's Dad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Bladder spasms??? I'm afraid to ask what that is. I, on the other hand, didn't have a catheter and wished I had. I had to go but couldn't, those muscles just wouldn't work for about 12 hours. -

Please point to the post where someone is laughing at the OP. He got some good advice, got his question answered...then the whole thread sorta spiraled out of control, but so what. There is nothing wrong with laughing....especially at ourselves. -
I had to take a drug test last week at work, and for the first time in I don't know when I could see what I was doing.

I have gotten where I feel my day isn't complete if I don't workout. It's getting harder and harder to even take a rest day. I find myself wanting to do some small thing for at least a few minutes. I've recently started doing the C25K and I'm getting addicted. It goes by so fast, I hardly feel like I've worked out....but I'm tired as hell. I have to hold myself back because I'll run everyday and I think I'm still too heavy to do that. But bottom line, I'm getting addicted to the way I feel when I work out. It's better than being addicted to candy bars.

2 Days Post Sleeve - Finally Feeling Hunger
Butterthebean replied to Randgalt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me, it hurt much worse keeping it in. I don't remember any discomfort when it came out...kinda like a few hiccups, then it was over and I felt better. -
2 Days Post Sleeve - Finally Feeling Hunger
Butterthebean replied to Randgalt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep walking. It takes a while but eventually you will get relief. Most people have the gas for several days after they get home. Comes with the territory. And don't worry, gagging and passing gas will not rip open your sleeve. If it did, we all would have been in emergency surgery. -

Will it be the current you? The fatter you? Or the muscled up bad ass from the past you? And will Morgan Freeman be there? Will he be wearing assless chaps? Driving Miss Daisy indeed.... -
What Was Your Longest Stall/or Just 1-2 Lb Loss During Wt Loss Phase
Butterthebean replied to Joni's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is truly a long stall for this point in your journey. There is a link in my sig. If you read down toward the end it has some tips for breaking a genuine stall, which you seem to be in. But clearly, you need to change something. Get someone to review what your eating, and up (or start) your exercise. Best of luck. -

It's a proven fact, licking crackers will satisfy your cravings, reduce your head hunger, tone up saggy skin, prevent hair from falling out, and make the whole world accept WLS and take us all into there bussom. What it won't do is get a visual of Gustavo wearing assless chaps out of my head. That's there forever. -

Bonofide Stall How Do You Break It?!
Butterthebean replied to 612belly's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Read the link in my sig. It will explain why you are stalling now. There isn't anything you need to do other than don't get frustrated. Continue working hard and the scale will start to move again when it's ready. -

Macho Cheese Doritos
Butterthebean replied to Jr425's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My second week out of surgery I was suffering so bad from head hunger and carb withdrawal. I licked the seasoning off 5 sun dried tomato basil wheat thins but didn't eat the crackers. My God that was so good at the time, and it satisfied my cravings. Best part was my dog got to eat the licked crackers. She was thrilled to get such a treat. She did a little labrador happy dance. I probably did that 2 or 3 different days until I started on soft foods. By then my cravings were gone. -

Eat some dried plaintains instead. Great potato chip substitute, much better for you. Just don't eat a bunch. -

You got a few weeks before it becomes a problem. The first couple of weeks there won't be anything because you're not eating anything. -

Worrying about everyone made you fat? I thought it was eating. My nutritionist is a lying b***h. -
The Stuff They Don't Tell You

Yeah the chia seeds are great. I was using benefiber for 3 weeks and it didn't put a dent in the problem. I started using ....what's it called....the powder in the orange bottle. It didn't help either. My second day on the chia seeds....relief. Since then I've been happy. I put a couple of t-spoons in my Protein shakes and I don't even know it's there. I've also put the same amount in a SF pudding cup and it tasted great. I tried making the chia seed gel that so many people online recommend....ugh. Really nasty. -
Being so freshly out of surgery, you may very well just be experiencing head hunger. It's mighty powerful and it's very hard to distinguish from the real deal. But as soon as you start eating food again, the difference becomes very apparent. Because you will be full after 1 bite, but still want to eat more. Soon after I started on real foods, the head hunger completely disappeared. Now I'm rarely hungry, I just eat when it's time.

How To Know When Your Full?

It's a great feeling when you first start eating foods again after surgery, and you realize you can't stuff yourself with a truckload of food anymore. -
The Stuff They Don't Tell You

I got mine online. Plenty of online sources. I would think most Vitamin shops would have them. Whole foods market has them. I read somewhere that Walmart has them in some stores, but I live in the sticks so my Walmart doesn't have anything that doesn't go on a tractor. -
What kinds of things are you eating. Your timeline sounds a lot like mine. Around 6 weeks out I could suddenly eat anything and everything. I didn't necessarily want it, but I could eat it. Your sleeve is healing and your capacity is increasing. It's important to eat Protein heavy foods at this point. Stay away from the starches if you're not because they will definitely make you hungry sooner.

The whole concept perplexes me too. I've only read about it. I mainly eat when it's time, not when I'm hungry. I don't get that empty stomach wanting food sensation very often. But from what I've read, you can get that sensation when it's not time to eat. In other words, you know you ate recently. That's the reflux. Maybe it's just Internet folklore.
