I would say a pinched nerve is highly unlikely because numb toes and feet are very common with elliptical machines. The Precor machines are the only ones that don't do it to me. I have read everything from loosening up your shoe laces to pedaling in reverse for 30 seconds every five minutes. But google it, it's very common so don't worry.

Tell Me About Your Post Op Care?

Wow...that's gonna seem like overkill after about 9 months. -
Omgoodness...old Timers..i Need Some Advice.
Butterthebean replied to Piplula's topic in Fitness & Exercise
LOL....I'm sorry to laugh, but when I started C25K I was so sore after that first day I didn't run again for 2 weeks. Besides training your muscles to handle this kind of work, and having good shoes, having good form is very important. I was taught to concentrate on leading with the hips and keep your shoulders down. Start off with a very short stride. It will build gradually as you get in better shape. I'm still a novice myself. I just finished week 4, but I've been doing it for about 6 weeks (plus the 2 weeks I took off after that first horrible night). But already there is a huge difference in how well I run from when I started. Don't quit. Until the soreness goes away keep walking and go easy on the stretching. -
P.a. & Surgeon Against Me Getting The Sleeve
Butterthebean replied to TamaraS's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So they use one patient's experience to justify all future medical decisions? Look at all the studies. What they are saying just isn't true. My BMI was 52. Four months later its 36. The sleeve was originally developed as the first step to a 2 part process for super obese patients. They would have the sleeve to lose a significant amount of weight, then have bypass. But people were so successful with just the sleeve, they didn't feel the need to follow through with the second part. Ask them to show you the statistics for weight loss for high BMI patients....better yet look them up yourself and show them to the PA. If you know you want the sleeve, you might also seek out another doctor. Some doctors just have their personal bias and nothing you say or show them is going to change that. -
Feeling Hungary More Often

I'm sure it's a bit different for everybody, but for me, I get hungry but a small meal satisfies me for 3 hours or so. -

All I can tell you is head hunger feels exactly like real hunger. Most people cannot tell the difference. It gets better when you start eating solid food. -
That's what I get for not paying attention to what sub forum I was in.

I have some Protein every 3 hours, even if it's a small Protein shake. Keeps me from getting real hungry and binging. Just spread your calories out more and eat smaller meals. Nothing wrong with that. But having said that, we all have those day were we are more hungry than usual. And yes, your appetite may increase some at this point. Mine did, but I didn't increase my calories. I just focused more on dense protein. -
What are you taking? I've been on ursodiol since surgery. I'm hoping I can avoid gall bladder surgery. I hate taking them as well, and mine are capsules so there is no cutting them up. But they are not as bad as surgery. Take them with plenty of liquid, preferably your favorite liquid (not water) if that helps you drink more.

For once in my life, I am speechless. But I approve of this thread wholeheartedly.

Would that be a metric "under-hundred"? That sounds like an Olympic event. -
I keep it simple. As much protein as I can. At least 1 gram protein per 10 calories. Split the remainder evenly between carbs and fat. No starches. Works well for me.

Constipated What Do You Take
Butterthebean replied to ljperez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
2 teaspoons in a pudding cup. 3 in a protein shake because you're not going to get them all out. -
They don't call them Whole Check Market for nothing.

Way to go.

I ate one the other day. Kinda chewy. Definitely not a snickers bar. But decent protein and not too many carbs for a grocery store protein bar. If I remember right, it was 200 calories, 20 protein and 14 carbs. Not too bad to have once in a while. I wouldn't have one every day.
