    I'm butterthebean.....of course.
  2. Are you taking measurements? I guarantee you are losing inches.

    Normal

I came home from the hospital 15 pounds heavier than the morning before when I got there. It is just fluids. It will be gone in a few days. Don't weigh yourself for a while. You're not burning fat yet anyway.
  4. I think it's more likely to be the grease than the fat. I eat brisket quite often which isn't lean, but it isn't greasy either.
  5. I think juicing is great especially if you are having trouble getting in calories. But once your capacity to eat starts coming back a few months out you might be better off eating them, they are very filling.
  6. You may have some other issue that needs to be treated. Constant fatigue and inability to sleep are symptoms of a nutrient deficiency or thyroid problems....among other things.

I just got a new phone and I downloaded the VST app before ever leaving the store. Downloaded MFP on the way home. They are both part of my daily routine now. At least they are more productive than Sudoku....I was wearing that out.

    What's Worse?

I had a good friend say something similar to me the other day. I've known him all my life, and he's always been an athlete. But now the weight is creeping up on him. He said, "I can't let you be skinnier than me." I just looked at him and said..."it's inevitable." I don't get my feelings hurt by these sorts of comments. It's more about his unhappiness with his weight. If he was being healthy and felt secure about himself, he wouldn't care what I was doing.

Chad, if you lived closer I'd come over and bring the non-alcoholic, non-carbonated, diet beer....otherwise known as lemonaid.

    Stupid Carb Question.

That's a lot of carbs. How many of those carbs are fruits and veggies, and how many are starches? I only ask because that would be a huge volume of fruits and veggies to eat after having VSG.

    Slider Food?

I made a thread about this a while back, but here is why chips are such a slider food. If you crunch them up they take up very little room in your stomach. Try running a bag of them through the blender and see how small they get.....like I did.

    Medications!

I can relate to the frustration. I had a weedeater that wouldn't run right back in the spring. I worked on it myself, then paid good money to have it worked on by a pro, but it still wouldn't run right. Finally this big oak log accidentally fell on the weedeater.....3 times. The third time really put that weedeater out of my misery. I bought a new one and haven't looked back. My wife saw the whole thing and she says the weedeater was taunting the oak log, so it got what it deserved.

    Slider Food?

Potato chips are a big slider. Crackers as well. Your protein bar sounds more like a trigger food to me. Anything that's high in carbs or sugar is a trigger food for me. They just trigger more cravings.

Just How Much Is Everyone Exercising?

My favorite exercise always was and always will be cycling. Typical ride for me is 15-25 miles, depending on my schedule. But I've started doing so many other things I haven't been riding as much as I'd like. Recently started C25K and I'm trying to do that 3 days a week. I love to go hiking, and will usually hike about 2 hours once or twice a week. And most recently I've taken up circuit training/crossfit type workouts at home, combining lifting weights with short runs or the elliptical. I love the circuit training because there is so much variability. I have weights, an elliptical and plenty of room to run (4 acres), but honestly you don't need any of that. Some body weight exercises and a jump rope will do the trick. Best part is the whole workout takes half the time of cycling 25 miles. I try to mix things up every day and I can't remember the last day off I took. I keep telling myself I'm gonna have a rest day but then I get bored or restless and I end up doing something to get the heart rate up.
