Yes we are all different, but some things are universally true. We all need water. And under normal conditions, our bodies extract a lot of water from food. But during recovery, when you're barely eating anything, your only source for that water is what you drink. Please just keep that in mind.

High Protein "snack" Ideas.... Lets Start A List To Refer To When We Need Ideas
Butterthebean replied to WLJourneyJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would eat pork rinds over most pre packaged "protein" bars any day. They typically abide by my 1g of Protein per 10 calorie rule, and have zero carbs. It's basically pork chops (tongue in cheek). No I wouldn't live on them, but if I needed to grab something at a convenience store to tide me over till I made it home, it's one of the better choices. Ask yourself, why is there a limit on your daily fat intake? If you stay within your calorie limit, eat your minimum protein and avoid simple carbs, your fat intake is irrelevant. It's just fuel. Now cholesterol is another story. -
You need Water based Fluid, not syrup based fluid.

You are having the 3 week stall. Perfectly normal. Read the link in my sig, it will explain why you are stalling. You are still burning fat, but you are restoring your glycogen reserves, and that means also retaining Water. It will break on its own very soon.

Thank you voice of reason. I've done everything you said and I've lost 125 pounds in less than 5 months so I must be doing something right. Amazingly, I've enjoyed every second of it. I'm not miserable, or deprived, or on a diet. I'm living healthy. It's great and it works.

Sumo squats. That will target your inner thighs big-time.

My Suggestion-Stop The Obsessing. Rules Are Meant To Be Broken

You seem way to intelligent to believe this. There is no "dislike" button, or you might be seeing different results. In order to disagree with your points, one has to take the time to write a post and be willing to "publicly" disagree with you. Plenty of people here aren't willing to do that. They are too nice. I'm sure if you met up with a bunch of alcoholics carrying a bottle of whiskey you would be quite popular. That's what you have here...people who do not want to change their bad behavior one bit, they only want the sleeve to control their portions for them. But for people with food addictions and eating disorders, that approach absolutely will not work. They will find ways to eat around the sleeve. -

"chairs...." That pretty much says it all. -
Looked at that link. What do they mean by "active carbs"???

I'm not a big fan of protein bars at all, but the one I have eaten a couple of times is the Pure Protein chocolate/peanut butter. It has 20g protein for 200 calories if I remember correctly. That's a good percentage. ONLY 14 carbs, which is still too many for me but not bad for a protein bar. Kinda chewy...definitely not a reeces peanut butter cup....but tastes fine.

I'm mad that I didn't think of this. It seems so simple and obvious. I need one. -
I have hated jogging for 43 years. Now after 2 months I look forward to it. I hate that I cannot jog everyday. The C25K program really makes it easy.

My Suggestion-Stop The Obsessing. Rules Are Meant To Be Broken

I wasn't referring to you when I made the reply about lumping. That was someone else. We are good. While I don't agree with everything you said, I do agree with your sentiment about obsessing and I appreciate your willingness to speak your mind and not make it personal when things get heated. We need more people around here who aren't scared of a healthy debate. I hope you stick around. Your outlook on things will likely change in a few months. In what way I cannot say, but for me the more I read this forum the more my view of obesity and weight loss surgery has changed. I thought everyone here was in the same boat as me, now I know we are all not even in the same ocean. -
