My doc and nut told me don't worry about calories for a while. Worry about your water and protein....in that order. The calories are going to be very low, but if you get in your protein the calories will take care of themselves....until you start eating regular food again.

It shouldn't cause you any issues, just don't try to lift anything or strain yourself for several weeks.

I'm still in the amateur ranks....how did you go pro?

What are the nutritional numbers on that bread? I have never heard of it.

Mine look the same...they are on my shoulders. I think it all depends on where they are. The big one on your calf, I don't think you need to worry about that one.

I just finished that book myself. Every since then I've been reading ingredient labels on everything I eat. There is also some great info in the book about the psychological processes that the food industry uses against you. -

Yep... www.lapbandtalk.com Your login here will work over there. Same admin runs both websites. There is also a RNYtalk.com and a sleeveplicationtalk.com. I agree that you should share your story with the lapband folks. Not to scare them but to show them what is possible. -

More Anxiety About My Post-Op Future... Have Some Questions?

Contact a member here with the name Aroundhky. Check out his photos on his profile. He's put on a significant amount of muscle.. It takes a lot more work, and a huge emphasis on Protein but it certainly can be done. As for the drinking Water, you will build up your capacity over time. I drink a 32 ounce bottle every morning before my workout. It takes about 20 minutes. That's not exactly chugging but its plenty fast. As for fighting MMA, you could always compete as a lightweight. -

You have a wonderfully positive attitude for someone who's been through so much. It sounds like things are looking up now. Hope you stick around the forum. -

Whats Wrong With Me?/
Butterthebean replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Justine, you are funny. Are you on solid foods? In the beginning I was hungry but I got less and less hungry the more I ate solid foods. Plus you learn to get the right amount of protein and complex carbs FOR YOU, and it gets easier. Plus, I'll ask you the same questions I asked the OP, what's your daily protein and calorie totals? Not everybody can live comfortably on 600 calories a day. I was put on 1250 calories a day way back at 6 weeks post op. I'm not saying you need that much, but you may need a few more than what you're getting. Nothing I can say about the zit.... -

I don't know what your problem is. I was sincerely trying to help, not scold you. I asked some legitimate questions. I know you know yourself, but a lot of things change after surgery. One of those things is the feedback you get from your digestive system over things like hunger, acid reflux and satiety. Good luck. -

I eat almonds all the time. But get the plain ones. Look on the ingredients list on the flavored almonds, and all you see are 4 different types of sugar and salt. -

Whats The Worst Thing You've Eaten Post Op?
Butterthebean replied to suzjag's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A year ago I would consider how I'm eating now to be a very restrictive diet. But not anymore. The longer I stay away from unhealthy foods, and the more I learn about their awful effects on the body, the less I want them. Contrastly, I'm discovering more and more healthy foods that I enjoy all the time. I don't go without and I don't deprive myself. I eat when I'm hungry and I don't feel like I'm on a diet, but I do feel like I'm taking care of myself....for the first time in my life. It's working for me I think, but we each have to find our own approach. -

Just out of curiosity, did you keep them up or did you bring them back down to normal levels after the stall broke?
