If you like to read, there is a great book called "New Rules Of Lifting For Women." It has some great information to help beginners start their first weightlifting plan. It has very detailed guides about what exercises to do, when to do them, how many, and even how much rest to take between sets. Very detailed but also very simple to follow. Perfect for beginners.

are there any sleevers here who have had leaks from cheating on their post op diets?

How would anyone ever know the cause of a leak? There is no documentation because there is no way to pinpoint the cause. You can cheat or not. You can have a leak or not. You can't say for sure what the cause and effect is going to be. But you can do everything in your power to increase your odds of healing properly and living a healthier life in the long run. Each doctor's plan is different because each doctor developed his plan based on how he was trained, and then surely tweaked it over the years based on his patient's experiences. Add to that each doctor's personal sense of conservatism vs. his willingness to push the envelope. Not to mention his fear of malpractice lawsuits. Then divide that by his penchant for oversimplifying things so that even the stupidest of patients can follow the plan. -

Cramps/sour Stomach
Butterthebean replied to Starlite1531's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your bariatric doc should have an answering service and an "on call" doc for emergencies who will meet you at the ER if you are having an emergency. If you can't keep anything down, even Water, that's an emergency. I would call and tell them what's happening and see what they suggest. If you don't drink water you could have serious dehydration issues, which would not be good for you. Call your bariatric docs office. -
Yes, but this thread has nothing to do with being strict or not. It's about people coming on here asking for other people to assuage their guilt for eating something that is less than ideal. And for us so called "sleeve nazis", the sleeve is not just about weight loss, it's also about getting healthy. During the honeymoon phase most sleevers can eat cupcakes every meal and still lose weight, but they aren't doing their health any favors.

Is it possible to start stalling in first 2 weeks? Concerned
Butterthebean replied to Joy0125's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's not only possible. It's normal. Read the link in my sig. Many people experience the 3 week stall. It's nothing to worry about. It will pass. -
I've seen people asking if they can drink alcohol 1 week post op. That has nothing to do with a doctors strict post op regime.

What surprises me is not the people who ask for permission to begin eating crap food 3 weeks post op, it's the people who give it. Enablers.....

You're cruising right along. -
The funny thing is...he blocked me. I guess I pissed him off. Doesn't matter now, he's banned.

Please read the link in my sig. It has some good info about stalls.

Why in the hell did I have this sugery during the holidays! I'm one week out and craving food bad!
Butterthebean replied to blkdiamond377's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Threads like this remind me how much our society centers everything around food. These holidays in particular. It's almost like an American past time....if family gets together there must be mass quantities of food involved...but why? My family Christmas dinner will be this Saturday, and the whole day will be centered around preparing, then eating this gigantic meal. I'd rather spend my time doing other things than just gorging on a big meal, then waiting impatiently for it to go down enough to eat more. -
Am i the only one?

Some sleevers can't tolerate certain foods but many can tolerate anything. There's nothing about the surgery that will prevent you from eating any kind of sweets or junk. Your stomach is just smaller. That's all. -
