Where do you men shop for regular sizes?

You did the right thing, but I would also now call your surgeon. If this is weight loss related he would be the expert. But I've honestly never heard of pain from "morphing." Did the doctor just make that up? Hope you feel better soon.

For a while there my sig pic was just my feet. I think I've come a long way since then. Funny part is I'm about 50 pounds lighter than my current pic. I just haven't updated it in so long.

Well....as to hydration. I put propel in my Water when I'm working out so it tastes better, but the real key for me is hydrating BEFORE I work out. So I drink a 32 oz bottle before I ever start. It takes me 30 to 45 minutes. But I just start drinking in time to finish it right before my workout. That way I don't have to chug water throughout the workout. I can still sip, but I won't come close to dehydrating even if I don't. As for the rest, you're right. We all should be considerate of what we say. I don't think anyone feels this sub forum gives us a green light to start bashing new people, and I certainly hope it doesn't turn in that direction. But I would like to add, everyone who has posted to this forum, and all the many other vets have handed out countless tips, advice, insight and help over and over again. This forum is full of people helping people. I won't speak for anybody else but I try every day to help somebody here, and I like to think I usually do. And for that effort, just in the last 2 weeks I've been called an idiot, a nazi, I've been cursed at, insulted, talked about and even told that I would fail at my weight loss efforts (despite all evidence to the contrary). All of that by people who have been sleeved in just the last 2 months, and it's happened many times in the past. Almost every time it happened was because I tripped over someone's sensitivities. Sometimes on purpose, but most of the time it was inadvertent. But still I got hammered. So to me, this sub forum is a safe haven where I don't have to worry about that, and I don't intend too.

Six miles. Today was my longest run. I usually do my weekly long run on Friday, although some weeks it will be Thursday because I work shift work. Saturday is my rest day. BTW....signed up for a 10K for 2/23. I'm supposed to run 7 miles that day anyhow, so I'll run this instead....ConocoPhillips Houston Rodeo Run. My first organized run.

Letter to Human Resources (long)
Butterthebean replied to ArcusX's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That's a great letter. I'm impressed with your fortitude. You're taking the right approach....showing how it helps their bottom line. Many times that's the only thing big business cares about. -
Sleeve down under?

For sandwich meat, fajitas and tacos I've started using a lettuce wrap instead of a tortilla or bread. Doesn't sound as good but it's totally satisfying. I'm 8 months post op and I've had maybe 3 bites of bread. None of them tasted as good as I remembered.

Take it easy Laura. There have been many bashing threads on these forums but this isn't one of them. It's just a place to chill out and not worry about all the things that the newly sleeved and pre sleeved worry about. All of us here still participate in those other threads.

Just ran 6 miles. Felt great. I ate some little "energy squares" made of whole grains, nuts, seeds and Macao nibs (unsweetened chocolate) with some PB2. The last mile was like running down hill. I had visions of Olympic gold. It must have been a lack of oxygen or something.

If you have the access and the means, a trainer is not a bad way to go at all. A good trainer can teach you how to get the most from your time spent at the gym, rather than wasting time and energy doing exercises that are of no value.

I want to help my friends but i can't
Butterthebean replied to Butterthebean's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
You just gave me an epiphany. I think my coworkers are really just complaining rather than sincerely asking for help. I don't know why I didn't recognize that before....I'm an expert on complaining. -

Anyone have a recipe for high protein hummus? I love the stuff but am always looking to modify my food to have more protein. Anything?

Renea77, I definitely will. For everybody...how do y'all balance you're eating for weight loss vs. eating for running? The 2 definitely seem to be in conflict at times. I mean all the high carb food for energy. I really don't want to eat it but any run over 3 miles I really need it. Believe it or not but I can eat a package of almonds (which is mostly fat) and that will get me through 3 miles just fine. But more than that it's not enough. I just had a bad sugar and carb addiction in my previous life and I don't want to go back to that. What do the rest of you do? .....edit....I just realized that's how this thread got started.

I will have to give these a try. Thanks.

Great question for your doctor. He'd probably say yes, but it doesn't hurt to run it by him first. He may know something we here don't.
