    The evolution of profile pictures

There. I changed mine...whoops, I backed up to less body. Oh well. The nice thing about living out in the country is you can go for a bike ride, stop in the middle of the road, sit down and eat a snack, take a picture....and not worry about any cars coming along.

No wieght loss in 3 days

There is no such thing as a 3 day stall. A stall is weeks and weeks. The sad fact is most of us lose anywhere from 10-20 pounds right away....and it's not even fat...not one ounce. It's water and glycogen. The fat is going to come off very slowly and stubbornly. There is nothing you need to do other than be patient. It will take time.

    For Distance Runners

I was planning on stashing a few in my pocket for the half marathon. They are small, like the size of dice. 2 squares is about one serving.

We need to all plan to meet up one day and do a fun team run. We need to find a really good one in a great location to make it worth traveling. Team VST.

  6. I just wanted to get in a thread on the veterans forum before it gets inundated with threads by new people. Nothing against them, I haven't forgotten where I came from. Just saying...we need our own clubhouse once in a while. It's like a family....we all need each other, but sometimes we need some space too. Best of luck to all sleeve vets and rookies alike.

    YOUR tickers and profiles

That's me but still at least 40 pounds ago. I need something more current.

I can see it. On an iPad or iPhone just tap on any post and you will see that members ticker if they have one.

    Grumpy... Hunger?

Don't second guess your surgeon. It's tough, but it will be over soon and you'll come out the other side happy and healthy.

    Protein shakes

Yes that's standard. Whey is a fast absorbing high quality protein. That's best for maintaining the muscle you have while on a reduced calories.

    Frozen green smoothies

I have a vitamix and that thing would blend up a bumper. The ninja has mixed reviews online but on this website I've heard 2 or 3 people say it works great. Never heard anyone hear say it did not. I make a green protein smoothie everyday.

Why do so many struggle with the band

I did a lot of reading over on the gastric band website and one thing I read over and over again was that the band actually encouraged people to eat slider foods because when the restriction was a bit too much, slider foods were the only kind of foods they could eat without pain and discomfort. So that's kind of the opposite of learning new healthy eating habits.

    Grumpy... Hunger?

Sorry...I had to laugh, but the title of this thread kinda sums up this whole board for me sometimes. Yes, you are likely experiencing head hunger. It probably feels just like the real thing. Once you start eating again it will fade, and you will better at recognizing it and ignoring it. Most of us experience it in the first 2 weeks post op, because we can't eat and want to desperately.

Vitamins and labs - Boy did I blow it!

I only take a one a day multivitamin. I just had blood work done last week and the doc said my blood was perfect. I credit a balanced diet, and have always believed it's the best thing one can do....I just never put that belief into practice until recently. Unfortunately, a "balanced" diet is not easy when you're sleeved and only eating 600-800 calories per day, thus the vitamin supplements. I'm eating 1500 so that makes it easier. My vitamix blender is my new mistress.

Way to go Ellie. Love those vibrams. Did you get some comments? See any other folks wearing them?
