Right Side Pain...all About Incision Site?
ByeByeBigGirl replied to 101driver's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm having similar pains but on my left side where there are two incisions. It's just sore and achy. My other incisions don't hurt, not even the big one. I hope it's just healing pains. -
Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow?
ByeByeBigGirl replied to jailynn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So worried about hair loss. I have thick hair so I'm sure I could afford to lose a little but still. I can't get all of my protein in no matter how hard I try. I'm only one week out so I'm sure it's still tough at this point since my sleeve is still swollen but still. Guess I will add some biotin to my daily routine. A lady I work with was sleeved last April and didn't have hair loss until about a month ago. I think she has let up on the protein thinking she was in the clear. I won't make that mistake!! -
2/6 Sleevers Check In
ByeByeBigGirl replied to BluebonnetMagonlia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey sleeve buddies! I went for my one week check up on Monday. Everything going well. So far I'm down 10 pounds since surgery. Woo hoo but damn I am sick of liquids! Bring on the mush! Doctor said technically I start on Monday but he wouldn't be opposed if I started on Friday as long as I can tolerate it. Blended soup is so not appetizing but it does the job. Learning my new tummy is interesting. Strange sensations but no pain and just a little discomfort from time to time. Has anyone else noticed bad hunger breath since surgery? -
Anyone Self-Pay In The United States?
ByeByeBigGirl replied to seansmom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was self pay. $9500 covered surgeon's fee, anesthesia, 1 day hospital stay, pathology and radiology. I also work for the hospital I had it done at so I got a bit of a discount, but not much. -
2/6 Sleevers Check In
ByeByeBigGirl replied to BluebonnetMagonlia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 2/6 also. Feeling ok, learning what I can and cannot drink, but having a horrible constant gas like pain right in the middle of my chest. I'm calling my dr today since it's becoming bothersome. -
I get them when I'm full. Haven't heard anything about them being tied to a leak though.

Sleeved Yesterday (2/6)
ByeByeBigGirl replied to ByeByeBigGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try putting the vicodin in the fridge. Makes it a tad more tolerable. Yeah I have the same pain as you today. My nurse called to check on me and said I should be feeling better by Sunday or Monday because I'm at my highest swollen part of recovery. I sure hope so!! -
Sleeved Yesterday (2/6)
ByeByeBigGirl replied to ByeByeBigGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Another update - pain is worse today but I think that's from my vomiting episode this morning. I've learned to use my dissovable Zofran as soon as I sit up, then try to take pain meds and gas-x strip. Obviously it didn't work this morning. I was able to get 1/2 teaspoon of pain meds down and slept for a few hours. But I still have the hiccups like I'm full and the pain hurts through to my back. Haven't been able to drink water or anything so I opted for a little bit of popsicle this go round. Hopefully I can keep meds down a little later. -
2 Days Post Opp Questions & Concerns
ByeByeBigGirl replied to Tshaunda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too was only injected with blood thinners while in the hospital. Between my liquid Vicodin and absorbable Zofran that was $200. Yikes! I'm eating the Zofran like candy. Even water makes me nauseated. -

Worried My Liver Won't Be "shrunk" Enough
ByeByeBigGirl posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone! I'm scheduled for my sleeve on 2/6 and have been on the pre-op diet for over a week now. I've read so many others are on all liquids but I'm on high protein/low calorie. I've been doing really good for the most part - 2 protein shakes a day, lean meat, veggies, etc. but I've slipped and had a few carbs - a cookie here and there and some potato chips last week. But I haven't had any rice, pasta, bread, etc. When I went for pre-op with my FP (who has also been sleeved), he told me NO carbs allowed, but my surgeon's office never said that. So I called them and confessed of my slips they said I'd be fine. I mean, I went from eating greasy fast food cheeseburgers and something fried every single day to eating healthy. Surely most of the fat in my liver is gone, right? -
I'll be sleeved on 2/6 and I'm worried about the girls. I've always been top heavy and I'm a 48DDD now. I would like to get down to a DD but I so hope I don't have too much skin. Have any of you tried using firming lotion?

1 Week Into Pre-Op Diet And Craving A Glass Of Wine So Bad!
ByeByeBigGirl posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so tempted to stray from my diet. I know I shouldn't but going out and having a drink sounds so good right now. -

Pre-Op Diet Started... This Sucks! Any Advice?
ByeByeBigGirl replied to ncstatebabe's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started my pre-op diet yesterday too. Surgery is scheduled for 2/6! I'm not on strictly liquids though. Just high protein/low carb. Liquids only though the day before surgery. Nerves setting in!!! Good luck to all of you and WE CAN DO THIS!!!! -
How Long Until Hunger Comes Back?
ByeByeBigGirl posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone! I'm new here and will be sleeved in January. I'm just wondering if the hunger and/or cravings is only gone for months or if it lasts longer. Thanks!
