About Me
I am a busy full-time working mom of two little girls, ages 2 and 6. I have been married for 9 years to a wonderful and supportive man. When we met I weighed 160 pounds. I have had primary lymphedema in my lower extremities since I was 19. That has caused me to be more sedentary to allow the swelling to go down, I would elevate my legs when I got home from work and watch TV and eat dinner. Then I had two children and gained even more weight. I am not at an all time high at 290 pounds and this has only exacerbated my lymphedema problems. Also during my second pregnancy I developed a hernaited disc in my back which causes lots of pain and sleepless nights. My doctor attributes this mostly to my weight. I am not blaming my medical issues completely on my weight gain. I also eat horrible foods. that is something I am just going to have to overcome on my own. the closer my surgery date comes, the more nervous I get. I have a family that is counting on me to be around for a long time. I just started getted a tiny bit excited after joining this site yesterday after reading all of the awesome success stories. I am very inspired by everyone here! It's been a long 6 month process, but I am finally scheduled for my surgery on Halloween. Scary I know! If I didn't do it on Halloween, my surgery would have had to be the week of Thanksgiving and I didn't want to miss the holidays with my family.
