I used the ecig before and then with surgery I went to the 0mg. I have tried a few but by far liquidxpress.com is the best tasting and quality cartomizer (the part that holds liquid). You put battery on that puppy and away you go. The tops of the cartomizer pops off easily with a pin or end of a paperclip...you can add a few drops of liquid right in there when yours starts to taste like maybe it is out of juice. Buy a bottle of 0mg liquid to go with it. This way instead of just tossing cartomizers and wasting $ you can get a few uses out of each one and save some serious $$. The set I like the best is the Joye 510 model. Be sure to get the one called manual (has a button to turn on battery). The manual makes you have to suck harder to get a drag (called vaping) and it can turn on from loud noise (I had one almost burn a hole in my pants as I sat next to a slot machine). You will also want a recharging pack to go with it. Its about the same size as a cigarette pack and is great for having an extra battery. I got my starter kit and all hardware from www.cignot.com and have had no problems and then the cartomizers from www.liquidxpress.com on cignot get the Joye510 nobox (this is what we have and LOVE IT) it comes with 2 atomizers and prefilled (Marl high) cartridges. Those have nicotine...dont even mess with atomizers and cartridges. then on liquidxpress get xpress 510 cartomizers (cartridge & atomizer all in one) 0mg prefilled (7.50 for a pack of 5) and a bottle of 0mg (they are just called flavorings)

Hi All - I am new and need some help. I am trying to figure out if I can have my 1st appt this year and still have surgery this year. My 1st appt. is next week 6/21. I have Cigna insurance. They require the 6 months supervised diet. So based on what I am reading I am thinking maybe I can but I wanted to find out what you guys thing (I know this is just advice and I will verify with dr. and insurance). Originally I thought 1st appt 6/21 so my 6 mo. would be complete 12/21. Based on that and submitting for surgery etc. my surgery wouldnt be til the beginning of next year and a new deductable. But it sounds like this may work 1st appt: 6/21 2nd appt: 7/15ish 3rd appt: 8/10ish 4th appt: 9/6ish 5th appt: 10/1ish 6th appt: 11/1 So in theory since I could get 6 appts in 6 different months could I really get this done around Thanksgiving? Anyone with knowledge or experience with this with Cigna please let me know how it worked for you. Thanks so much!

Hi All - I have cigna and am getting all my T's crossed and I's dotted. I am wondering as far as documentation of your 6 months of weight loss attempts are they a nightmare? I wont have any gaps at all and will have my PCP send in chart notes documenting weight, diet & exercise as required. I will also have him include a letter explaining his support. Have any of you been hassled by them? I dont want to go through being denied because I missed something silly. I will be pushing it as far as end of the year and dont want to screw myself and end up having to pay another deductable. Thanks in advance for any experience, suggestions or comments you may have.

I have been thinking about this and realized I feel a little like people who have sex changes feel. Inside I am a totally different person. I feel like me. As soon as I catch a glimpse in a full length mirror or window, or am reminded in some fashion (folding fat pants, winded bending over etc.) I am reminded that I am not that person right now. At least what others see isnt the true me. I also feel the stares, whispers, snickers etc. over my size. Do you guys know what I am talking about? I am so looking forward to the outside matching the inside. Being that fit, active, happy woman who is hibernating on the inside.

Hi All - New here... My question is regarding the 6 months supervised diet with dr. I am trying to figure out if it is possible to get this all in this year under one years deductable for Cigna. My 1st appointment is next week 6/21. Based on what I am reading I may be eligible sooner than I thought (if insurance approves of course). Here is what I am thinking. 1st Appt; 6/21; 2nd Appt: 7/15ish; 3rd Appt; 8/10ish; 4th Appt; 9/6ish; 5th Appt; 10/1ish; 6th Appt; 11/1. I initially thought that it had to be 6 months so 6/21,7/21,8/21,9/21,10/21,11/21,12/21 so there would be no way I could get this all done this year. Anyone with thoughts and/or experience with this please let me know! Thanks so much (I can not tell you how excited I am!)

So I found out when I went to surgeon that diet doesnt have to be supervised by the surgeon. I for some reason thought it did. That is good news. All that work my PCP and I have put in isnt for nothing. Weight off shoulders! Silly me!

Is Cigna a nightmare?
carrierae replied to carrierae's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Referral letter? I am not aware of this requirement. It isnt a problem, but what specifically is it? I didnt see it in any of the information I read from Cigna or from any calls I have made to customer service. -

Wow Cigna is trolling this site. Hmmm. I must admit I there is no such thing as privacy on the internet but at the same time I do feel kinda violated. -

I am going with the traditional I have a "hiatal hernia" bit. That covers why I have to do the pre op diet, go take all these tests, have surgery and my tummy will hurt recovering. It also explains away the odd diet after for at least a couple months. I can say "Wow, this hernia was great...i wish I had one earlier so I could have lost this much weight" blah blah blah. After a couple months I figure if they get suspicious I can say "after the hernia surgery I lost so much weight, i am not hungry and am making sure I get my nutrition in so I am going to stick with this diet until I change my mind". I used this for work and am going to for everyone. I dont want anyones opinions good or bad. This for me is very personal and my baggage. My hubby and one coworker know...that is it. Not even my mom or mother in law (who is at my house everyday but that is a different story). Bottom line do what you need to do. If you need the support and feel they will give it then share. I dont feel I need the support from anyone but my husband and them knowing will only add to the embarassment I have for l getting this fat.

Osmoprep or bowel prep day before surgery?
carrierae replied to TheButterfly145's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also have to do the osmoprep. I have to do mine 2 days before and then only clear liquids until surgery. Good times! Please update me. I am also planning on working until day of and want to know if that is actually possible. Thanks! -
Hi All - My first appt is today. I will meet my surgeon and get started on this process. I am hoping that since June will be my 1st appt that I can be submitted begininning of November and have surgery around Thanksgiving. He may tell me this is unrealistic though. Geez I am so nervous that he will refuse me for some reason. I am 5'6 and weigh 333 so my BMI is 53. I should have no fear but I do. Here are some questions I have come up with. If I am missing any you think are important please let me know. I leave for my appt. in 3 hours. 1. How big will my stomach be? 2. What size bougie do you use? (not sure how to pronounce bougie) 3. Do you use a drain? 4. Do you perform a leak test? 5. How many sleeves have you done? What kind of results have you seen short term and long term? 6. What kind of complications and results of those complications from sleeves you have done? 7. Hospital stay and timeframe for standard stay? 8. Since 6/21 is 1st appt. July would be 2nd, August would be 3rd, Sept would be 4th, Oct would be 5th and hopefully beginning of November 6th. In your practice has this been sufficient? Realistically can I get this done this calander year? 9. When can I go ahead and schedule appt with nutritionist (and are they in house) and psych eval (are they in house) for insurance requirements? I dont want to wait to do those after 6 months.

I am going to see my surgeon for the first time Tuesday. I am wondering what questions haven't I thought of? What questions do you wish you had asked?

Seems like unjury is the most common/best Protein I can get. I see it costs $19.90 for a 17scoop container. My question is in order to make a mix do you add 1 scoop or 2? Trying to compare prices.

I am wondering from those who have been there how in the heck I am supposed to make a 1 to 2oz meal last 30 minutes? Seriously? That is what my dr post op diet says. I get that maybe after a little bit when you are no longer on puree diet but that just seems crazy! Is this really do able?
