You know, I am actually bigger around with my body shaper on than off. It's just that I love that smooth way that your clothes hang when you wear one. I hate to see a big girl with a belly roll hanging over the top of her waist band. I'm like get you a body shaper and rein that puppy in gal. Just because you're fat doesn't mean you have to be floppy! I weigh over 300 lbs and have people tell me that I look nice often. Good undergarments, believe it or not, can make all the difference in how you are viewed; as pleasantly plump and voluptuous or as a fat slob.

I have not had my surgery yet (Dec.6), but I have been laughing and telling my husband about this. I already have to take half my food home in a box anyway. After my sleeve, I won't have to order at all. I can just eat some of his. It will cut our bill in half. Then I can save my half of the money to buy new clothes. Yay! :0)

Great Dream

Thanks so much. So very sorry about your babies. I have such a struggle in my daily life. Many days I wish I had not of had children at all. Then I meet people like you that have lost theirs and I feel like dirty for not being thankful for what I have. I just feel like it is more than I can bear sometimes. That is one of the main reasons I am seeking this surgery. I need to improve my health so I can take better care of these children. Unlike most women, I may be in the role of having "children" at home the rest of my life ( unfortunately one of mine may be a a six foot tall, 300 pound man with a third grader's mind). I hope for the best, but plan for the worst. My biggest dream is to go a day without pain and the large bag of pharmasudicals I have to take. I would like to go walk one day and not spend the next day in bed. Boys need a lot of special attention. -
Does anyone else out there have Anthem BCBS?
BenisaMartim4 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My doctor's office is telling me that Toyota told them that they have to be a "center of excellence" and "blues center of distinction (which they are niether)." My insurance company said this is not right and I am completely covered for my procedure. The lady at the Dr. office still argued with me until I had the insurance to get her on a 3-way call and to fax the papers over. She is still saying ,"well, my supervisor says this is not right." I had the supervisor from the insurance company to send them that info! Does anyone have any suggestions of how to deal with them if they keep giving me the runaround. There is not another doctor within a hundred miles to do bariatric surgery. -
Losing touch

This sounds completely normal to me. This is an extremely huge event in your life. It is just like a marriage or birth (people talk about that with every breath and that is not considered strange). We are committing ourselves to a new life (marriage) and are coming out a whole new person (re-birth). You be just as excited as you want and if no one wants to listen keep a diary or blog. My family is not supportive. All I can say is when I get thin, I can be like :0P no thanks to you. They haven't let the air out of my balloon any. -

Girl, I wish you the best. I for sure know what stress is all about and what it will do to ya. I have four boys. None of mine are teens yet though. All of mine are young (4,5,9,10.) My oldest two are autistic, my baby is legally blind and my other one is just a brat. I feel like pulling my hair out on most days too. It is a constant circus here. I decided to do this, because it was time to do something for me. I have run myself in the ground over the last ten years trying to do the best for these kids and it has taken the toll on my body and mind. This one is just for me and here's to you too! -
Not sure that this was the right thing to do?
BenisaMartim4 replied to Mera's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am planning the surgery for my health also. I have multiple co-morbidities and take around a dozen Rx meds daily. I will not lie though, I am so looking forward to being thinner. I haven't seen onederland in 18 years and it would be great to make my home there once again. -
Does anyone else out there have Anthem BCBS?
BenisaMartim4 replied to BenisaMartim4's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
They told me in Mississippi, they did not have those requirements, but that is totally awesome that they approved you that fast. Maybe it will work out that way for me. I have found them to be a very good company to work with; and because my husband works for a global company, our rates, co-payments and deductibles are extremely low. We are very blessed. -
That sounds like a great name. I can't wait to get there. I am 6 wks out right now if all goes well with the insurance (my tentative date is Dec. 6). I started at 333 and am down to 321. I haven't seen twoterville in four years and onederland in 18. I am ready to do a little weightloss sight seeing. How about y'all? It may be many miles away, but Onederland, here I come!

VSG & Negartive People
BenisaMartim4 replied to jessicaemilia's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My parents don't want me to have it done, but at least they have enough respect to keep their mouths shut. my mother in law is especially non-supportive. She has a negative comment every chance she has. I finally told her two days ago that she wasn't going to back me down so she might as well save her breath. I have only told two other people. Both of them are also morbidly obese and very supportive of my decision. I haven't told anyone else because I don't feel like it is any of their business and I don't want a constant barrage of opinions thrown in my face. I have four young children and I am doing this so I can live to raise them. Good luck and if you have to tell your friend that the subject of your surgery is now off limits. -
I have everything finished. Having a bit of a runaround between the doctor's office and the insurance company, but my tentative surgery date has been set for Dec. 6. Here's to hoping everything goes well and quickly!

The surgeon's office ( Terry Pinson, Tupelo,MS) just called to remind me of my appointment on Monday. I Sure Hope the insurance gets on the ball. I am ready to get this show on the road :0)

Shelli, I have Anthem BCBS in Mississippi (through Toyota). They told me that I only needed 3 months of the weight management. I sure hope they are right. I have already met my max out of pocket for this year and will not have to pay any on my procedure. If they make me wait three more months, I will run out of year and the deductibles and copays will start all over. Good luck on your procedure!

Hello everyone! I'm new to the group
BenisaMartim4 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi everyone. I am so glad to have found this group. It appears to be a wonderful support and information system. I am a 34 year old, wife and mother to four boys (ages 4,5,9,10. The oldest two have autism). I have been over weight all my life, but my health has really went down hill since the birth of my last child. I have been interested in weight loss surgery for several years now, but because of a lack of insurance, it was not a possibility for me. In June of this year, my husband joined the Toyota production team here in Mississippi and we got insurance on day one. I began pursuing my options very soon thereafter. I have finished all of my pre-surgery testing: weight management visits, EGD, stress-test, colonoscopy, sleep study and psych eval. My appointment to see the surgeon again and to submit everything to the insurance company is this Monday, Oct. 24. It will take up to four weeks to get a surgery date after that. I will keep y'all posted. I have already met my max out of pocket for this year, so this should not cost me anything. Everyone wish me luck! :0) -
The Official What You Will Need For Your Upcoming Weightloss Surgery Thread!

I have not had my sleeve yet, but I have had two laproscopic surgeries and a c-section and I found that a body pillow was WONDERFUL! It allows even support of the whole body while in the side lying position. It can also be pulled tight to the body with both the arms and legs for those painful coughing moments.
