Puddin, Can you explain the Body Bugg to me? Is it annoying to wear? Do you have to enter all of your foods online at the end of they day? How accurate is it? Thanks!

Wher are you getting lipo?

I have HBP. It runs up to 190/160 and is one of the main reasons I am having the surgery. My doc is still trying to figure out a med to get it inder control. I am seeking a second opinion next week, because my first doc is a scmo. Anyways, those of you that have had the surgery, what happened with your BP? Did the weight loss help any of you enough to get off the meds.

That's great. You should be proud of all of the hard work you have put in to get to that size.

I am scheduled to report to school for inservice 7 days after my surgery. Do you think that is reasonable?

I just got off the phone, and I have my surgery scheduled for August 8th. I am excited, but scared at the same time.

I always feel like my HBP is because of my weight, which I am sure at a minimum doesn't help it. My dad was very heavy and had HBP. But somehow, I tend to blame my BP on my weight more that genetics. But then I see how many of you were around my size and had no real issues with your BP. I don't know if that is a good thing for me or a bad, but it does make me feel less guilty! (I hope that didn't come across as offensive!)

I'm on a med for my BP now, but even with the meds it is around 150/120. I have an appointment next Friday with a doctor I trust a bit more. I'm going to speak with her about the lap-band as well.

This has been one of my hardest struggles. I keep thinking how much money it is, imagine if it were in their college fund, or we took a trip to Europe, etc. (When the reality is, we'd probably piss it away like we do most of our money! My mantra now is, I AM worth it, my kids deserve a healthy mom.

I want to quit avoiding mirrors. And to enjoy trying on clothes in a store. I am the queen of Target and ordering online because it seems less embarassing somehow.

I'm hoping to fly out for three days or so. Then go back for the first fill or two, then I hope to find a closer doc to do fills. Thanks for the support. I have insurance, but don't feel like waiting to jump through all of their hoops, plus I have an unsupportive PCP. The call was actually very liberating. And you nailed it about deserving to be happy. I always put my kids, students, husband, friends, etc, before me. Doing something that benefits me feels so selfish, but in actuality it will benefit all of my relationships!

I just called the doctor's office and they said they would e-mail me some information. I live in Texas and can't figure out how it will work because of the distance. My local doctor (who I'm not crazy about) said he wouldn't approve the surgery because I haven't been fat long enough. (I've been heavy for over ten years. Thanks for the encouragement!

Is anybody just starting or about to start the process with Kirshenbaum? I need and want to have this surgery, but seem to get overwhelmed or discouraged very easily.

Is there a charge to go to the Cribbins' seminar? Is it very informative?

Puddin, You sound happier than you've been in quite some time. I am thrilled for you.

My BMI hovers in 36-38 range. But, I have high blood pressure and they can't seem to get it under control. I've been overweight for more than 5 years, but not anywhere near this heavy. I seem to be putting on 10-15 pounds a year. I am really short, 5' 1-ish" and am around 200 pounds.
