I was considering using Cribbins if my insurance would pay and Kirshenbaum if my insurance refused. Yesterday I went to my GP and he said he wouldn't recommend it. He doesn't think I am heavy enough. I am at about a 38 BMI and have uncontrolled hypertension. Does Cribbins require your local GP to approve the surgery?

I met with my general physician yestreday, and was told that he didn't think I should get a lapband. Do you have to have your GP's approval for Doctor Kirshenbaum? -
How does the doctor decide what band to use?

Thanks guys!

Those of you that use Cribbins, if I see him for a consulatation during the first week of June and am going to try to get insurance to pay, what time do you think I can hope to have the surgery? Is there any was it would be done in July???

Just remember, you may marry or become a Senator one day. Please, don't participate in any other compromising videos. You are such an inspirataion to me as far as working out and dieting. I also appreciate your incredible candor. I just hate you are doing this to yourself and then beating yourself up afterwards.

Do any of you know when Dr. K is scheduling surgery for new patients? I am trying to get approved for insurance, but if I can't I think I will schedule with Dr. Kirshenbaum. -

Texas doctor that can get insurance approval

My BP is running 190/150 with meds and I am just tired of all of this. I called my insurance company and they said WLS was excluded. When I pressed they said it is occasionally approved because of medical necessity. I weigh a little over 200 and am an incredibly small framed 5' 0" woman. I was planning on trying to self-pay with Kirshenbaum, but really don't want to wait if there is any way I can the surgery approved through my insurance. Also, since I am a teacher, summer is the only time I can get this surgery. Which doctors in Texas are good docs and good about submitting the paperwork that gets approval. Thanks in advance. -
We have a self-funded plan, and I don't think WLS is covered by my school.

I'm in West Texas as well, but don't really know any doctors in Lubbock.

Good luck.

I think double dating and public places may be the best way to go.

I live in Texas as well and we adopted our oldest son who is bi-racial (black/white). If adoption is a route you want to consider, let me know. I researched several agencies and may be able to help you a bit. We had some family members we were concerned about, but before we adopted we commited to the idea that our child came first and we must be willing to cut off anybody we felt necessary. The reality is, even our child was lily white, do we want them to be around hate for others? By the way, our families adore him. With the exception of one great-aunt, it has been a near-perfect experience. -
Mini, Have you heard back yet?

This may be a crude question, but here goes. I plan on being a self-pay. If something like this happens to me, will my insurance cover the secondary surgery?
