  1. Protein helps to heal the body. Try adding fiber to your diet---I take gummy chews and most of the time I add tasteless powder benefiber to my protein drinks. I've found the more protein I take in, the greater the weightloss and the greater my energy level. Blessings2u--BJ

How Much Did You Lose In Month 1

I had surgery Nov 9, 2011----I'm down 35 lbs. I think I'm doing great. I kind of like the thought that slow and steady wins the race. Blessings2u--BJ
  3. Had my first salad this past Wednesday night. I chose an iceburg salad mix. Added in some red onions and fetta cheese. Basalmic dressing-------chopped nicely during my preparation and chewed as I should have. It was awesome!!!!!!! I love me some salad. I love it so much that my eyes were bigger than my stomach. The 1 helping was enough to satisfy me----BUT I had to go back for 2nd's ---and my sleeve won--she wanted it out! Lesson learned----listen to your body when it tells you that you're full. I won't give details---but let's just say I'll know to stop with one helping the next time. Blessings2u--BJ

    From Full To Empty!

I actually had my surgery Nov 9, 2011............my stomach loves liquids. I just have to put forth the effort to pick pick up the cup/bottle. Yep, as long as it's coming out.....think of it as getting rid of weight. Every time I pee, it makes me smile---seriously, especially when I drink a lot of water and I constantly go. Blessings2u--BJ

I Definitely Regret Surgery.... So Far!

This too shall pass. I was feeling really weak and all I could do was sleep for weeks. It wasn't until I started taking gummy vitamins that I began to feel better. Days always seem dark when things don't go according to our plan or the way they went with others. Just believe that this is all a part of a process---once you are through this---you will look back and wonder "did this really happen"----remember "process" ----your stomach/ body has to go through a process to adjust to the newness. I'll keep you in my prayers. Blessings2u--BJ

    From Full To Empty!

It's call healing (LOL)....your swelling is going down. I find that I can drink water without problems as long as I'm not gulping. I can generally drink 32 oz in about 30 minutes---that's great for me. I don't really like the taste of water so in the past I would just gulp. I've noticed weight dropping since I'm able to get in more water and at least 2 protein shakes per day. Blessings2u--BJ

    Approved!

Congrats!!! will keep you in my prayers. Blessings2u--bj
  8. Feeling really grateful today!!! I've overcome a whole lot of would have's, could have's and should have's....BUT God!

  9. Bread??? wow. Bread wasn't on my nut list nor my Dr.'s. I just thought that it was one of those forbidden things after surgery. I must admit that I've had texas toast without any problems......but so far as having a sandwich---no way. I just feel like it'll get stuck. Blessing2u--bj

    Awesome Sandwich

OMG!!!! this sounds so good. I haven't had any bread as of yet.......well, I've had soft tortilla (bean burritto) without any problems. Breads were my weakness prior to surgery.........in my mind sliced bread would get stuck trying to get to my stomach..... I will definitely try this recipe. Blessings2u--BJ

How Can I Decrease The Size In My Calves?

Trainers are not as expensive as I initially thought. I have a friend who has a trainer coming to her home @ $15 per session with a 20 session minimum. He has agreed to allow me to attend the sessions at the same price. His special will last until Jan 31st. Perhaps you can find someone like him. I haven't been able to exercise yet. I actually tried walking my treadmill at home and because I'm not eating that much this month--it wiped me out. February will be my month. I agree, Youtube has a video for EVERYTHING. Blessings2u--BJ

Fried Foods And Hot Wings Forbidden Forever?

I had grilled hot wings dipped in a little ranch dressing....no problems at all----could only eat 3 pieces, but that was fine----that was at about 6 weeks out. I'm not eating meats during the month of January---but you better believe I will have my wings for Super Bowl! Blessings2u--BJ
  13. January 9th, I was officially 2 months out (Nov 9th was my surgery)........I want a salad so badly but there's a fear of purging. But today I'm going to put fear aside and purchase items to have one. I pray all will be well---I love me some salad!!! Blessings2u--BJ

    I love Chipolte!

I've never hear of or seen a Chipotle restaurant. BUT my husband went to Taco Bell for a bean burrito and I must say that it was awesome. It went down so well and was filling. I was only able to eat half, but that's all I needed. I had a little brown rice last night in a meatless chili a friend of mine made and didn't have any problems. Blessing2u--BJ

    Cereal

I've had oatmeal and grits but I haven't had cold cereal yet. I'm looking forward to having me a bowl of Rice Crispy's. I believe in anything in moderation. A bowl every now and then shouldn't hurt. We just have to remember to remain in control. Blessings2u--BJ
  17. I am 9 weeks out as of tomorrow (Wednesday) and I find that my stomach wants something to eat every 2-2 1/2 hours. I drink water all day and I'm still trying to find real protein (meat) that can go down easy. Thus far little broiled hot wings are great, but I realize I can't eat them everyday. I'll try turkey meatballs to see if that'll help. Good luck to you and I pray that your food issues are revolved. Blessings2u--BJ

You are definitely in my prayers--Blessings2u-bj
  19. Hello all, i didn't know exactly where to post this information so here goes. I have decided that since I am being sleeved Nov 9th that I want to donate the balance of my clothes to someone now if they can use them. I currently have size 3x,2x, 30-28-26-24-22. I am more than happy to donate, but since I'm about to go out on disability, I can't afford to pay for shipping. If you are interested please contact me. Otherwise I will have my hubby take them to a shelter or to Good Will. Blessings2u-BJ
  20. I am 4 weeks out (5 weeks this coming Wednesday). I feel the same way. I have all of the vitamins and was taking them fine before surgery, but now they make me nauseous. I purchased a multivitamin/protein powder yesterday that has B12 included. I'll see if this gives me back some energy. I just feel no energy to really do anything. This has got to work. Blessings2u--bj
  21. 3rd Week Post Gastric Sleeve Op- Can I Have Coffee?

I'm glad I found this question. I was told not to drink caffeine as a part of my lifestyle change......BUT today I just wanted a cup of DD coffee. I had a medium 3 sugars with cream. I could only drink 1/4 of the cup, but it didn't bother me at all. I won't make it a habit, but girrrrrrrrllllllllllllllllllll it was good. The only thing I think I noticed was a little gas/cramps (so I assumed it was gas) in my tummy which didn't last long. I'll drink a bottle of water to push it through. Blessings2u--bj
  23. 293lbs!! Is it possible for me to be down to 250 by March-I'm in my 3rd week post-op

  25. Today begins my 3rd week postop---weighing in at 295.4!!! Feel free to follow my journey on Ytube: bjstrans4mation. I am so excited! I can't tell you the last time I remember being under 300lbs. I ate my first taste of eggs today. Taste like steak and didn't trouble my sleeve at all. I am so Thankful. Blessings2u--bj
