Well I am two months in, I am still at 24 pounds. I am not at all upset with this, I know I need another fill but probably only a little one. What I have learned is that I have a few hurdles yet to conquer. I hate exercise I have to walk. I have a dog, and a treadmill (for rainy days) I have a bow flex. I do not have ambition. lol I am battling with myself over all of this and I know my health will win. It takes time to make a lazy girl move, but the scale sitting in the same spot for a month on 1000 cal per day makes me know, to win I must move my hiney. The biggest thing I have to accept is my break up with food!! I am learning that cooking the way I always have makes me have to have the same meals for lunch all week! lol I am learning that we can make due with just two menu items, because three means lots of left overs. I am lucky to eat a little meat and Veggies. Yes I did say I need a fill, and I do have good restriction, but I am still hungry, which leads me to another battle, head hunger, and real hunger. So far my tummy tells me if I am hungry in loud angry growls, but it doesn't stop my head from saying please please just one more bite! So that is where I am at today. I am fine and feel like I am slowly but surely making progress in all areas, so here's to it! I hope you all have a great New Year! New years Resolutions, break bad habits, make new habits, and be kind to everyone!

Almost A Month Post-op
Joyce Real commented on h0pefullh3art's blog entry in h0pefullh3art's Post-Op
Alot of people get discouraged, at the beginning, but the truth is your are suppose to heal first and the weight loss comes after your band is adjusted to where it needs to be. Be patient and let your body heal. -
gas X stips, help with the gas, and walking too, my doc told me the #2 would come when it was ready, and mine did, but some people use milk of mangesia. Most of us go through that. Hang in there it will get better.

Rant. Emotions. Crying. Enter Post At Own Risk.

I have been hungry since I was born, and people remember me from being what my daddy called a human garbage disposal. He said from the time I was eating table food, I would eat my food and clean everyone elses plate too. Why would they allow a child to do that? They thought it was cute. Because I was not over weight as a child they saw nothing wrong with this behavior. The man who said that to you probably was not even realizing that you have a problem now. But that I know does not make you feel any less hurt, But look where you are now! You are on your way to changing all of that and you are going to feel so good!! -

Now That You Have Had The Surgury, What Negatives Have You Experienced Thus Far?
Joyce Real replied to marketingdude's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am only three months in, and have had no complications at all. But as posted before we worry about our little bands, because they are the only tool that has actually worked before. My friends have called me the incredible shrinking woman. Yes we are all very excited about our bands, and we talk about everything good and bad. I never heard of the black bile thing, but that sounds more like a gall bladder problem than anything to do with the band??? (I am no doctor so take that with a grain of salt) lol. The results are most of the reason we all are very positive about our bands. -

First Lap Band Fill Today And Still Vomiting
Joyce Real replied to melgreen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I swell a lot every time I get a fill. It takes a couple weeks to go back to normal. -
it is because of where they place the band is near your diaphragm and it causes you to have hick ups
-
lol That is a victory!!

Have you been to a seminar? you should it helped me make the decision. My surgeon, had a flat rate for people who's insurance would not pay. I got mine for 14500. One year free fills! Good luck!

I had a hiatal hernia too but it was fixed when they put in the band. It makes healing a little slower I think but its all good!

productive burp, is what it is and usually happens when something does not go down when you are eating.

Anyone Have Pus In Their Incisions?
Joyce Real replied to Puppypaws57's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a scab in one of my incisions that was really deep and it started having pus after more than two months, I was putting peroxide on like you did and using a wash rag to wipe away the wetness and it pulled the scab off, since then it healed completely up. I think it was the glue stuff and it was ready to come outta there. -
I use the proti diet protien drinks, they are only 15 grams of protein, but only 70 calories too, they are sweetened with Sucralose, I can not tolerate aspertame. They come in a lot of fruit flavors and also creamy flavors. For snacks I use sugar free popsicles Good and very low calorie! Good luck!!
