Yes, I need a fill, I have an appointment, and am patiently waiting, but watching that demon scale sitting at 226 is making me want to football it out into the yard, I know i have said all this before, that is all I can think about at this point. I keep telling my self you have lost 30 pounds in 4 months, not a bad track record, I once lost 75 pounds in 5 months, by walking all day long, sigh, I do not have time to walk all day long anymore. Plus I was bigger then than I am now. I lead kind of a sit down lifestyle right now and I am trying to work some walking on the treadmill or other exercise into my life every day. I feel like I should be farther along in this journey than I am. My blood sugars are getting better. I am really kind of liking some of the dietary changes, I can not eat bread, I can not eat anything breaded. That helps keep me honest. I really need a fill, I look forward to just a little bit more restriction. I think this fill will do it for me, put me where I need to be. Has anyone else, just known that the next one will be the good one? It takes me about 3 weeks to really know how a fill is going to work out, I guess I swell each time. So that is where I am, come on the 21st lol.

Help! Emotional Eater In Bandster Hell
Joyce Real commented on Hopeful to be full's blog entry in Hopeful to be full's Blog
There are a lot of ways to handle the emotional aspect I google and read everything I can get my hands on. I find other things to keep me busy. I am not a giant success, I need another fill too! I have had two and am chomping at the bit to get the next one. I am stuck at a certain weight and some days it goes up one and I nearly have a fit. I am so afraid to fail at this too, but everyone says it will get better when we are adjusted to where we need to be. I say give it time and dont beat yourself up this is considered banster hell. Good luck and stay in touch. We can do this!! -
mashed potatoes, cream soups, blended soups, soft scrambled eggs, cream of wheat, oatmeal, stuff you can smash and make mushy Oh yeah, you can eat soft cooked fish too. . I am sure that there is much more, that is all I have thought of.

It is a personal experience. One to two pounds a week is a big success by the way!! You are doing amazing, be proud of your accomplishments!! -

1 Wk Post Op And I've Already Cheated Several Times.....
Joyce Real replied to ktmoss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree, you need to follow your doctors orders, if you are eating the things you say you are not helping yourself in any way. You worked to hard to get the surgery, if insurance paid, or if you paid you do not want to waste your money. Be strong it wont be long till your band is your best friend. -
I have an appointment on the 21st, but I hate to wait that long when I know I need a fill now. I will be patient, but I have gained a few pounds. It is so hard to get it off, I hate to gain back any. Sigh, the process where you are not yet in the green zone is hard. I do so well, then things loosen up and I stop losing then I even gain a little. I hate those mornings on the scale and would gladly football that darn scale through the house. Yes, I can be very childish at times. Anyway I will be patient and try not to damage the rotten scale until the 21st then I hope I will get a fill.

Disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joyce Real replied to Cookie1974's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am a self payer. I found out that the surgery and one year follow up was 14500, here in Arkansas. I saved half and financed the other half. If you are self pay you do not have to go through any of the other stuff insurance requires you to do. Basically you go to a seminar, sign up for an appointment. See the surgeon, Pay for it and get it done. It took maybe two weeks. I know it is hard to come up with the money, but when there is no option that insurance will pay, then you take matters into your own hands. -

Taking Time Off Work
Joyce Real replied to newme2012's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took the two weeks cause I needed it, if you have the sick time I would suggest the whole two weeks. Lots of people go back after a few days, but this is surgery and you deserve the time to heal. -
I am a large woman, and losing weight is good for me, but I will always be 5 ft 8 and at least medium to large boned. I am ok with being bigger than other people. I just want to cure my diabetes and be healthy. Being slimmer is hard to see, I have lost 35 so far and I still dont see it. I do see that my clothes are smaller lol I always think they will be to tight, and usually they are too loose lol It is all in the way we are use to seeing ourselves. I know heavy women who have lost weight and still ramble along like they weigh 300 pounds.

Frustrated & Scared, No Restriction Yet.
Joyce Real replied to Dililah's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That is how the lap band works, slowly and the reason the restriction seems to loosen up is you are losing fat around where your band is. It is normal to have to have adjustments, you have lost a lot be proud of yourself and keep after the goal! -
