Heck yeah, it is. I'm pretty pumped for the season this year. You live in Houston?

I'm going to Vegas on July 16th, four months after my sleeve. But as far as I've heard, beer, soda and all carbonated drinks are pretty much off-limits forever. My sleeved friend says that he drinks soda from time to time, but it's uncomfortable and would've advise it. Maybe we'll have to stick to liquor.

I'm 24 and I've lost 10 pounds in six days from my surgery. (Surgery weight: 356) I'm looking forward to this speedy pace, though I know that it will slow down pretty soon.

I'm six days post op and my full liquid Protein diet has me take two ounces of protein-rich liquid or calorie-free liquid every 15 minutes, alternating. Every time I try to take anything in, it's always followed by solid five to ten minutes of burping and gurgling. I make an effort to sip carefully as best as I can, but it happens every time. Makes me not want to eat at all. I cheated a few days early and tried a small forkful of puréed chicken salad. Went down okay without pain, but the gas was still a problem. Am I doing something wrong? Is this temporary? Will I be chained to my box of GasX forever?

How Long Were You In The Hospital?
Remo replied to madambones's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was there for two nights. Had surgery this past Monday morning and spent the rest of the day recovering. Tuesday morning was the leak test and starting my fluid intake. Got to have water, broth and these little fruit ice cups. Most of it was waster because I could take in only a few tablespoons at a time and I'd pass out for a nap after a few spoonfuls. Then this morning (wednesday), they made sure my vitals were good and let me go home. -
It's a been long day, but I've received my liquid diet and finished my pre-anesthesia clinic. Now just more waiting. I can already feel how tough this liquid diet is going to be. I was dieting before with salads and Subway, but when I'm hungry, I'll have to hope these Protein shakes can satisfy me enough for the next six days. Thanks! I checked out your blog and your video. You've got a very inspiring story to share. Hope mine will be as uplifting. I'm definitely looking forward to getting out to the mall after a few months and trying new things. My surgeon is Sheilendra Mehta, working out of the U. of Texas Minimally Invasive Surgeons of Texas. They've been a good group to work with.

I've been lurking on this very motivational and informational forum since I've started this process in September. Tomorrow is my final pre-op appointment before my surgery on March 26th. I'll get the final paperwork started, 3D white light scanning and getting started on my pre-surgery liquid diet. I'm 6' 2". My heaviest ever was 388. I started weight management at 374. After months of diet-slipping, I've still lost twelve pounds (362). So, I assume my surgery weight will be around 357. I don't really have a number goal, but I eventually want to fit comfortably into a Medium tee and wear a 34 or 36 jeans. I'm pretty nervous about the procedure. I've never done anything this extreme. I just hope I don't have any complications. I trust the process, so I'm not afraid of not losing weight. But I think I'm most worried about never finally being okay with my body. Even after maybe losing 150 pounds, will I accept myself? Feel that I look good, or at least good enough? Or am I only going to be happy once I get skin removal surgery? Then I'll have scars to work about... -endless cycle- So, I'll post on here to give me something to do while in the hospital and to get some sort of documentation of my "journey".

Thanks for the good tidings. My heaviest was last year at 389 pounds. I'm currently at 374 and my surgery weight has to be 358 or less. It's a log ways away but I hope to weigh under 200 pounds. My best friend just has the sleeve in July and has already lost 80 pounds. (300 to 220). I'm really looking forward to my post-op life.

I'm a 23 year old guy who's one month into pre-op weight management. Hope to be sleeved sometime next February. I'm glad there's a mens section here because it's hard to relate to so many posts about "finally looking sexy in my little black dress". Hope to stay active on the forum while I go through this process.
